The Chocolate chunk cookie from Lidl is sheer perfection. It is necessary to serve the cookies warmed in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes for the flavours to come together. When eaten cold, it's just okay. The ambiance of the store reminds me of a cross between a general store, a bakery, and a supermarket. Definitely try the bakery here, it's divine. If you're obsessed with chocolate chunk cookies, you might be tempted to buy a dozen as I did. read more

There is usually only one register open, and thus a long line. Today, I was reprimanded by a cashier after switching from a malfunctioning self-checkout register to another self-checkout register. Apparently, I was supposed to wait around for someone to help me; there was no one in the self-checkout area at the time. Also, the store is usually out of the advertised sale items. read more

The (Woodruff Rd , Greenville SC location) store manager attacked me this afternoon after I complained that your employee was violating my personal space while I was shopping. He became upset that I took his picture to add to my customer complaint. This video is part of the Live Photo I took of the employee that refused to allow me an enjoyable shopping experience without invading my personal space because she absolutely had to do her reorganizing in the exact spot I was trying to shop. Totally ignoring the entirety of the store that was is in disarray and needed reorganizing. It was imperative that she literally reach completely in front me to stack merchandise rather than politely and professionally reach behind me. Hoping the manager would be professional enough to de-escalate his staff to give me space, he instead, completely attacked me. Travis attempted to berate me that I cannot video or take pictures without consent etc etc etc. Even if that were true, which it's not, any notices he alleged to have been posted at the store regarding the issue are, at best, policy. Not law. The only person that actually broke the law was Travis by attacking me trying to take my cellphone, which he did actually touch. He scared my daughter so badly she thought she was going to have to defend me. My other children were upset by his lashing out as well. It was a horrible experience! I've submitted an online complaint as well as notifying the chain via social media. I expect to be contacted by a Lidl representative. read more

Cool discount grocery store. Compares to Aldi. I've been using Aldi's face cream for years, so I was glad to visit Lidl and compare face cream. The prices were similar ($3.89 at Lidl), and I was happy to discover the cream is very nice smelling, very smooth and absorbing. If we ever get a Lidl in Buffalo, NY, I will shop there occasionally. In general, I think the prices are a little higher than Aldi, but I shop sale prices, and both stores have a lot to offer. I was going to make braised red cabbage with chicken sausage, and I was very please with the price of the red cabbage... 68¢ a pound. I bought two different kinds of chicken sausage, and both worked well, average price $4.40/lb. I recommend Lidl, especially if Aldi doesn't have exactly what you are wanting. read more

Decent Lidl. I've been to several and this one was about the same. It was organized with great prices. Longs weren't that long but I did go to self check out. Lots of options for produce but just make sure it's fresh because their produce can sometimes be on the brink of going bad. I did get a few items that I needed. Mostly essential items. Prices are good. I also have the app to save even more. It's in a busier location so it can be hard to get in and out of so keep that in mind. read more

I had stopped in Lidl since there were no eggs at the store I normally shop at, and needed to do some baking for a party. Not only did Lidl have plenty of eggs of many different size, I was also very pleased to see there were many plants that were for sale as I could also give some to some of my friends and neighbors for Christmas. What I do like a lot about Lidl is going down the middle aisles near back of store which have random things, like article of clothing, shoes, Christmas decoration and lights, etc. I had one time purchased a skateboard here, another time large circular beach towel, even black tights. Really cool things offered but usually limited time. The bakery has fresh baked goods like donuts, cookies, bread, croissants, etc . . Yum!! There are organic fruits and vegetables along with grass fed meat too. Plus, plenty of other items. I don't come here often mainly because it's on the opposite side of Woodruff Road. You don't need a quarter to get a cart like the other store but as a result, there were not as many carts available near the store. The parking lot is strange shape so there's a lot of traffic flow so do watch your kids if you are shopping with little ones and walking through the parking lot. The store itself, similar to the one on opposite side of Woodruff, has a messy, disarray feeling to it due to high ceilings, it has a larger feeling though a bit warehouse-like feel. Not sure why, but their bins for recycling bags and other items were not longer there, gone on vacation? There are typically good prices and every time I do come here, I get good stuff but as a result, spend much more than I had wanted to. Like mentioned earlier, I typically shop elsewhere mainly due to which side of Woodruff Road it's on, yet cannot complain of what's in inventory, prices, etc. read more

I came for the freshly-baked bread and wasn't disappointed. The friendly, knowledgeable baker came out from the oven area to help me choose my loaves and assist with the slicer. She was fabulous! I grabbed some beautiful, fat, ripe raspberries on my way to the checkout, which was speedy and efficient. The store was clean and well-organized. I've only been to this store once before (when it first opened) because I lived south on I-85. Now that I live in Greenville and on this side of town, I will definitely be shopping here more regularly. read more

Love this new grocery store! The produce is always fresh and reasonably priced - even for the organic products. The bakery - yummy! They have a nice selection of freshly baked breads and cookies. I particularly like their meat department for ground turkey and chicken breast. They have an amazing selection of cheeses which pair well with their equally amazing wine and beer department. One tip - if going for produce make sure you go on Saturday because by Sunday the pickings are slim. read more

When I moved to Greenville I was surprised at how expensive groceries were here, but Lidl came to the rescue. I was never able to use other discount stores like Aldi as my primary grocery store, but I am able to do about 90% of my shopping at Lidl. They have a good selection and their store brand items haven't missed a beat. The bakery is an added bonus. However, they do start running out of things at the end of their sale cycle. I don't even bother going on Mondays or Tuesdays. Returns and other complaints can also be annoying to deal with since you must do it in the regular check-out line. But I won't discredit them too much on this since it is part of what keeps prices low. You might get better service at Publix, but you can't beat the Lidl price. If you are a bargain shopper, I would definitely recommend checking them out. read more

Lidl is not for everyone. It is an off-brand grocery/merchandise as it comes available cheap. It is a replica of the one I frequented in Heidelberg, Germany. The best part of this store is the fresh bakery right inside the store. I bought hot rolls and pretzels. The bread smell puts a smile on your face and the thoughts of deliciousness gone by. They had eggs for .49 a dozen, celery for .39 a huge stalk, Haagen Daz Ice Cream for 1.49 a pint and several other unbeatable prices. The rub is the inventory size. It's small maybe 1/16 the size of a normal store. It will not have everything on your normal shopping list. That said, they will save you a bundle on stuff they do have. Also, they're better than Aldi at what they both do--and have free shopping carts. So much better I'll stop by once a month or so. Check them out but know their limitations. .49 eggs alone are worth the stop. read more

My first time in and I wasn't really that impressed. They have some stuff that may be a little cheaper, but I wouldn't go again for a couple of reasons: 1. The store is really unorganized. So much stuff feels randomly placed and still on the floor in storage boxes, or Christmas clothing no one wants in the middle of the frozen food section. Maybe this is by design to keep costs down, but it feels weird and gross and the disorganization stresses me out. 2. They don't have many options for dietary restrictions. I have to buy a lot of dairy-free or vegan groceries and they don't have much of a selection. I did see a lactose-free milk and some almond milk, but the prices weren't different enough that I'd make a special trip. But while there was a lot of organic groceries, I didn't see alternatives for butter, cheese, and some of the other things I substitute. 3. It's pretty small, there aren't a lot of options. And I didn't see anything that surprised me with a better price, just a few maybe marginal differences and really low-cost off brand product. If this had the selection of a mid-size grocery store it may be different, but I had a list of five things I was looking for and only found one (vegetable oil - on a great sale 2/$4, but you had to buy two. I don't have that kind of space in my tiny apartment pantry) I can get everything that I need for similar prices at a combination of Trader Joe's and Lowe's market, to get things that are not as expensive as Whole Foods but still have organic/dairy-free options, as well as locally sourced. This may be an opinion limited to a single female without children, so maybe go find out for yourself - take a few minutes to just walk through and see what they have to offer. It's messy and often out of products. If you do happen to find an employee and inquire about where something might be, be prepared to receive an irritated response. No one I came into contact with had on a name tag except a manager named Jason. He was nice enough until I corrected him that calling me "hon" was inappropriate. He found this amusing and annoying because his niceness was gone in a flash. Demanding respect from a manager and a man shouldn't equal to me walking out without my groceries. WELCOME TO ALDI 2.0! My husband and I noticed this store while driving along Wade Hampton and ran in with only 15 minutes to closing. During that visit, we purchased the Classic brand of Kettle Corn and it was delicious! So, when we noticed this location close to our hotel, we had to stop in for more of that delicious popcorn (along with other items). At this location we also purchased the blend that includes cheddar cheese but haven't tried it yet. When comparing this store to its rival Aldi, you will notice a more open floor plan, it's brighter, you don't need to rent a cart, you will find even lower prices and they have more organic options. Immediately upon entering the store, you will notice the self-serve bakery section where they had fresh, (still warm) selections available late in the evening. We decided to try some of them, (quiche, savory and sweet pastries). I would not recommend these because they were made from processed American ingredients instead of the quality ingredients you would expect from German pastries. Next to the bakery section, they had a section for sampling bread. However, the bread was very stale and inedible. If they are going to have this section, it needs to be monitored so that the products are fresh. Keeping the items in a sealed container would certainly be a start. Like Aldi, you will want to bring your own shopping bags for convenience. Yes, you can purchase them here but I find that to be a waste and they only seem to carry mediums. I use a large roller bag for heavy items and insulated fabric bags for other items as they are simply more durable and you don't have to worry about breakage. I bet you're gonna like this place. Great prices, very good quality. Much better overall than Aldi except for one very annoying thing. They usually only have 1 or 2 lines open even if people are 10 deep waiting to check out! (Woodruff Road store MULTIPLE Times.) there are always lots of other employees running around doing work but never working the cash registers. I really like shopping here and hope it gets better. Also its strange that there is no store in Anderson, SC yet but there are stores all over SC in much smaller cities and towns! read more

Great options and affordable prices. Lidl is leaving where Aldi has left off. More space, better options, more inventory available, along with the same low prices. Lidl is not for me. I understand they have great deals and cheaper produce compared to other grocery stores. They have wonderful bakery but besides bakery nothing attracted me. I like doing my groceries in one store but after visiting lidl I had to rush to another super market. I went there on a Sunday evening but they were out of milk and yogurt. They have limited options of cheese as well. I will give this place another try during week days to see if there is any difference. read more

Wow...Wifey and I were running early Saturday errands on Woodruff Rd and decided to try out the Lidl's because we heard good reviews. Good is simply unfair. This place is really incredible. Now you may be a fan of Trader Joe's and their organic and namesake brands, but Lidls takes it to a whole new level. Simply outstanding quality produce for incredibly low prices. Their European breads and pastries are top notch and so unique compared to typical America supermarket fare. They also have a large wine selection that needs to be pursued further on a future visit. It's the only place I found a 4 pack of a true Belgian beer called Bronzen Schild for 9 bucks that's 10% abv. If you've never had a Belgian beer, try this. You won't be disappointed. During the crisis of the outbreak COVID-19, my parents enter Lidl like any other customer looking for goods and supplies. What they weren't expecting was the harassment from one if their employees. As my father was checking out, trying to scan his items, while waiting for help to check ID for the necessary purchases, a very rude employee approached my fathers vicinity and shoved him using his shoulder and angrily yelled at my father calling him stupid in even attempting to still try to scan his items (that you can do at ALL other grocery stores- mind you). My mother watched this entire scene and and very scared grabbed my father to leave while being yelled at still by the employee to never return to the store. When my parents called customer service, they said "sorry, here's a $5 gift card." I wouldn't recommend to store if it was the last one on the planet. What horrible people would do that to a 66 year old man and his wife!!! SHAME ON THE COMPANY read more

the rude clerk pushed all my groceries together no matter that my items were squashed including tomatoes and it was impossible to bag them then the handicap cart went dead befor reaching our car so I I had to move the car and block traffic to unload and repack my groceries. a totally unpleasant experience. . read more

The atmosphere of this store was wonderful. I felt as if I was shopping in Europe. Prices were fair and many options were available.HOWEVER as my family and I were checking out we received some of The WORST service I have experienced. We were denied an alcohol sale of two bottles of wine simply because my teenaged brother was with us in the checkout line(you know, the way all families buy groceries in a store). Though both my father and I showed our IDs the young lady with many exposed tattoos ( Notably the word "good" on her knuckles) said that unless he had an ID as well she could not sell it to us. When asked if other families with children are able to purchase alcohol she avoided the question, became irratable, and exclaimed how her husband was a cop and that she knows the law. I understand that sales of alcohol must be regulated and closely examined, but telling a family they cannot buy alcohol simply because a minor is present is discriminatory, unjust, and unprofitable for the company. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. It is not the job of an employee to profile and pick and choose who recieves proper service. And it is most certainly not there job to enforce the law, only to obey it and act in accordance (despite marital status to an officer of the law). Unfortunately I will NOT be returning to this location to shop. A store with such high standards and high quality food ought to have a higher standard for sevice and friendliness. Also, if you have children and intend to buy alcohol from this location I suggest not bringing them along. Clearly not a family freindly enviroment. read more

Very bad experience at this store. I was not informed by the store that they limited two items for bananas. The manager came to the line at the cashier to permit me to buy two bundles of bananas only and two packets of chickens only. I checked that there was no sign to inform customers that those items had a limit. I took only two packets of pork chops because there was a sign for pork chops. It was not right the manager made up the rule at the line where the customers were paying. That should not be the way of doing business. There was no consistency of rules and regulations, and customers are not informed. read more

I love shopping at the Lidl on Woodruff Rd. I find their prices generally can't be beat, especially with their sales - definitely recommend downloading the app for additional savings! We have saved quite a bit of money since shopping here in comparison to the bigger stores. I prefer Lidl over Aldi because I find it has more of a selection, is cleaner and the carts are free. But remember to bring your bags! I took off a star for two reasons. 1. Some of the staff does not seem to care at all. This has become my favorite grocery shopping place as they have consistently lower prices across the board and a better selection of organic and non-GMO food than most places. I've also found some very unique items that no other store has, like certain Italian hard cheeses. You do have to bag your own groceries, but it's more than worth the trouble for all the other positives this store has to offer. read more
