There is usually a stand with books and dvds for good prices in this heatons too. you just have to go in to see what is on offer! Oh and when its September this is a great place to go and get school supplies like copies and school bags and big sets full of markers (remember them? you could never get tehm back into the packets once you had taken them out!) so in summary a big no no no for the clothes but for bargain on the other stuff its a great shop!

As you can imagine the store gets really manic around Christmas. This one is on level 2 of the Square and you can park just outside it - which is handy if you're buying something heavy. There are plenty of catelogues to take home as well as the ones to look up items. They have a separate jewelry counter as well where they sell low end jewelry and watches.

The reason i like this paticular debenhams is that it is the only place in The Square that i can shop in some of the shops that i love for clothes. Debenhams has concessions for shops like oasis and warehouse and monsoon and you cant find individual shops for these stores in the square. The other great reason to visit debenhams is you get to look at all the (what i call) Fancy make up stands that you cant find in boots, things like Bobby Brown and Benefit, ones that i love but can find in your normal kind of shop, its for things like this that you totally need Debenhams!

That said, there's still an edge of chaos here, and my foray into the shoe department was on frought with danger: winter boots scattered on the floor, no stock other than what was on the racks, and if I was looking for a size 8 shoe (er, for... a friend) I'm out of luck. On the top floor they have quite a nice restaurant and cafe bar which you might find yourself gravitating too once you've tried it.

As a 36 short in a suit, it's nigh on impossible to get something to fit me with a slim fit. Here not at all. I got an off the rail three piece with alternations for €600. Not cheap but that suit will do me for years and in fairness the range of suits, brands and level of quality/service was brilliant. If you want someone to talk to about suits ask for Patrick. Word of advice: DON'T BRING YOUR GIRLFRIEND! Not unless you want to top up your mortage of course :-)

There is always lots of fresh fruit and veg and a great deli and bread section. They have a wonderful foreign or exotic food section and health food aisle as well. They have a great home ware and clothing section for men, women and children and there stock in these sections are always improving. At this branch there are lots of checkouts, lots of car parking spaces, lots of trolleys and lots of staff so you are never really queuing or wait for long for anything! Homewares are now located upstairs instead of in the basement, and there is a couch area across from the changing rooms at the back of the store for people to take a little rest which is a really nice and sophisticated addition, I don't think I've ever seen a seating area in any Penneys store besides at the shoes. Great area, same up to date stock as Mary Street store and saves you having to tip off down there if you're in a rush.
