We stopped in this little wine shop at the recommendation of a friend. For a small wine shop, you can tell that the focus is on quality, not quantity. If you are looking for jugs of Rossi to try on ice, go elsewhere. If you are looking for great bottles and decent prices from harder to find wineries and seeking the expert opinions of the owner, then Lido seems to be the place to be. The owner was there on a Saturday morning and you could sense that his passion for wine has lead him to doing exactly what he wants to do in life. He was knowledgeable about wineries, distributors, vintages, etc. and coming from pseudo-wine snobs like hubby and I, this is quite a statement. They also sell great little gifts...like my new flask that says "how much trouble can I cause before I go to hell?". Wine, knowledge, and cute flasks...enough said. read more

Tom, the owner, is super friendly and definitely knows his business. He told me he used to work for a national wine distributor for years, so he's made a lot of wine lists, which is how he's arranged the store. I'm no sommelier, but having worked at a wine cellar, I found the organization very helpful. The prices are great and you'll find a wonderful, curated selection of wines averaging in the $20 range. There's a few in the $10 and several more over $50. I will definitely be stopping by to stock up on quality wine! read more

This little wine shop is exactly what I need! I love being able to talk to people about wine, and learn from them. I gave a region and varietal that I had in mind, and the owner gave me great suggestions and insight. I like that they aren't constantly on an upselling mission, and are willing to talk about the less-expensive wines without degrading them. We will be here often, I'm sure! read more

I walked by this store for a few years and dismissed it because I mistakenly assumed from the merchandising it was too "high brow" for my typical wine purchases. WRONG! Lido carries the whole gamut and thanks to some wonderful assistance from the owner I can put together a case that exceeds the quality that I've been getting from my wine club at the same price. Lidos has the best wine selection along with Legacy Vineyards. Yes, I cheat - I go to both places. Their wines average around $20.00 a bottle but the selection is excellent. If you have trouble finding the best wine for your dinner Tom is very helpful in finding the best wine for you. read more

Not sure what the "awful customer service" guy encountered, but I've been here four times and haven't seen even a hint of what he's talking about. OK, fine, if you march in here and demand to know where they're keeping the Beringer white zin, then sure, they're going to give you the side-eye, but this place is amazing. Terrific selection from all over the world, reasonable prices (given what you're getting -- no, they do not have a $4 white zin, STFU and go to your local liquor store), fun tastings on weekends -- this place is what I've been scouring Littleton for since moving here. If you're a newbie, don't be scared -- just ask for guidance and the owners will be thrilled to point you in the right direction. I adore this place, and I stop by at least once a week! read more

We love LIDO wine merchants! We have been going there for over 2 years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the owners, Tom and Tina. They are extremely knowledgeable and always have great recommendations for us. We love the tastings on Saturdays where we have tried and loved many a new wine! Terrible customer service. My parents, husband, and I stopped in today to check out their selection. The woman working was speaking with someone when we got there (being very friendly) and as soon as she left briefly asked us if we needed anything then left us alone. She acted snobby and as if we weren't worth her time (I assume because we were very casually dressed) even though unfortunately (for her) we are devoted wine drinkers and buy hundreds of dollars of wine a month. I will not be returning here despite it being less than a mile from my home. Never make your customers feel judged! read more

This used to be my 5-star place to walk to and buy wine. Tom is an incredible resource and knows his stuff -- always pleasant. However, as pointed out in some other reviews, the lady who works here is unpleasant. After the way she treated my father-in-law today, and later my wife this place will never see another dime from me. After reading all of the super-positive reviews, I thought there was something wrong with me! Then I went to the filtered reviews and found that someone else had a horrible experience with the lady in the shop. She couldn't answer my questions about the beer that they carry because her husband is the beer buyer, and she acted as if I were wasting her time because I wasn't there to buy wine. She didn't tell me when her husband would be there or offer to get my name and contact info so he could get back to me. There are a lot of wine and beer shops to choose from; you don't need to go to one that treats you badly. read more

My initial visit to this store went so well -- I loved the recommendations the gentleman provided. Going back, with the intention of spending a good amount of money at this establishment, my experience was the complete opposite. I work in the area and was struggling to find parking for an appointment I had. Knowing I would be a patron of this store later in the afternoon, I inquired as to using one of the store's designated spots. Upon asking the gentleman, he very politely said it was probably a bit too long. The woman who works there came out of her office at this point and got NASTY. I explained again my intention to shop at their store, my appointment down the block, and the challenge I had with finding a spot. Instead of nicely interjecting, asking if she could be of further assistance, she jumped in without being asked, began to raise her voice to aggressively yell that their turnover in the lot is 10 minutes and anything longer is absolutely unacceptable -- how dare I even think about using their spot. After clarifying again that I had every intention of shopping at her store, after a less than 2 hour meeting, she raised her voice even more. When I said that there didn't need to be any sass or aggression, she spat back in my face that I'm standing there arguing with her. I shared that a simple, "no, I'm so sorry, but we can't accommodate that," would've been enough, then turned away, wished them both a good day and left the store. As I'm walking out, I unmistakably hear her call me an asshole. The whole exchange was completely uncalled for, following a politely delivered inquiry. To have the proprietor of a store call a customer an asshole, was just too much. My advice? NEVER shop at this store... unless you're fine with being vulgarly insulted by this truly nasty woman. read more

I was playing golf today and the lightening cut my round short so I stopped by Lido Wine to grab a bottle of pinot for dinner. While I'm sad I didn't get to finish my round as I was playing well, I had such a delightful experience. Tom and Tina (owners) were doing a great tasting of pinot and rose...my two favorites! For the neighborhood and the location you would think the woman working the store would be more personable, instead she was of no help at all and displayed a very poor attitude towards those asking relevant wine questions. I have been going to Lido Wine Merchants and enjoying learning about wine for a number of years. during the process so I become friends with both Tom and Tina, they have helped me a lot over the years with wine suggestions to pair with dinner and I've always been very satisfied with their suggestions. My son has come into the store also and received great advice for a wine to pair with a meal they were serving for guests. This is a great example of a small business that can compete with the large chains. Tom and Tina are masters at finding great wines to sell well before any of the other stores and keep their winces competitively priced. They are also great at pairing wine with food: A service that I have tried to get from Costco in the past to save a buck or 2 but, for the money, service, and quality, I keep going back to Lido. read more
