This liquor store is a solid, run of the mill, neighborhood liquor store. The prices are reasonable and the staff is nice. It's small, often obstructed by boxes and kinda dark. They sell a lot of "shooters" to the local transient population that lives behind the building. More often than not o get hit up for change or booze in the parking lot. That's the primary reason I shop the liquor store on the west end of Bear Valley north of the post office. read more

Caution use debit/cards only. "Cash" confuses the "Cashier". This only applies to the Owners mother who works on the weekends 9-3. I have seen others come in and complain about being short changed by her and she has Screeched and Yelled at them as well. I was a longtime customer(10+ years), but sadly i won't be returning. FYI she understands and speaks English quite well until someone challenges her cashier skills. then she 100% plays I Don't know what you are saying! Note: Apple Maps have incorrect directions, it is in the shopping plaza at the light. Not the residential street Apple sends you to. This was not what I expected. Excellent bourbon/whiskey selection tucked in an unassuming shopping center. Good prices. Very friendly staff. This will be one of my regular haunts from now on. read more

Huge selection with the best prices, clean and orderly displays...kinda place that makes me happy :) They have the lowest prices on beer, wine tastings on Saturdays from 4-7, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. The tall blond/reddish guy at the register doesn't know how to provide customer service neither does he care. He was eating sour patches and watching TV the whole time I was trying to find a kind of wine. I finally walked up to him to ask for help. His response was that he couldn't reach the manager over the radio. He didn't make an effort to further try to reach him nor did he know anything about where certain items at the store were. After another unsuccessful attempt to find what I needed to get my husband went over to him and his response was the same. There was another guy cleaning the floor. He could have easily ask his coworker to grab the manager but he simply didn't care what so ever. My husband finally found the manager on his own. Not sure if I want to spend my money here again. read more

Bear Valley Wines and Spirits is a medium large store with a huge selection of both wines and spirits. It is my go-to store when I'm looking for specific brands of wines and spirits. Delivery is available and their hours of business are very good. They have convenient signs posted for quick finding the things you are looking for. Bear Valley Liquors is a wonderful environment contrary to a previous review. I have been a customer for 20+ years. They do have new ownership now that isn't quite as bubbly as the previous owner but I have never had any issues. They prices beat all competitors prices. The selection is huge! Since new owners recently took over this store the service and detail to customer service doesn't happen anymore. I have been a customer at this store for over 25 years and it's now totally lacking in customer service. I have asked over & over to stock the popular wine, Livingston - Red Rose and they can't seem to ever keep it in stock. When I worked in retail we ALWAYS stocked the things that sold, because we wanted to make money. Apparently marking money doesn't interest them. Good luck on that kind of thinking. I have given them several chances, complaining to the employees, & the stock people. Example of the recent conversation with the stock people - I ask the one who was working in the stock area for that wine, none on the shelf, he said they were out. Next I asked the other one who was out in the store, and he said yes, we have a whole case in the stock area where the first guy was working and could not be bothered with even looking around for it. The other guy went back & got the wine. Since they are always out, wouldn't you think they would order more?? The prior owners ALWAYS had it in stock after I only asked once, not so with the new owners??? So yesterday, same story with the excuse, "well one person purchased a whole case". Seems that's telling you something, that guy was tired of asking for it too!! I don't have room to be stocking cases in my home. Right across the street there is another Liquor store that has NEVER not had that wine. So that's my new store from now on. I was trying to be loyal to a company I had used for all those years, but it doesn't pay off I guess. And for the new owners information, I don't just buy cheap wind, I also buy Absolut Vodka, which is VERY expensive and Kahlua, also expensive. So when ya snooz - you lose!! read more
