1-Star Review Title: Very disappointing experience -- from…read morewrong order to poor customer service I ordered a pair of Hoka Bondi 9 shoes online from Dick's Sporting Goods for $174 (about $190 with tax). When my order arrived, I received two different sizes -- a 7 and a 9. I called the online customer service line to see how to fix this and was told I had to drive to a store to exchange them -- the closest store to me is in Baton Rouge, nearly an hour away. Before making the drive, I called the store and spoke with Tim, the manager. I explained the situation and asked for help making sure the correct size would be there before I wasted a long trip. Instead of assisting me, Tim just transferred me to the shoe department. When I asked why, he claimed he had already spoken with them and confirmed they had the shoes. That was not true -- because when I spoke to Sully in the shoe department, he didn't know what size I needed and had to go check. When I pointed this out to Tim and asked why Sully didn't know, he said nothing. I told him I wasn't trying to debate, I just wanted to make sure the shoes would be there when I arrived the next day. He said, "Yes ma'am, go to the store to pick them up." When I got there, the shoes were not held and no one could find them. I asked for Tim, but he refused to come to the front. Instead, Missy came to help. She even mentioned she was tired of Tim's behavior, and thankfully she found the shoes for me. I truly appreciated her professionalism because she was the only one who actually helped. After wearing the shoes for a day and a half, I realized they hurt my feet and made them numb. When I called to return them, the online support told me the purchase was now considered an in-store purchase (because of the exchange), so they couldn't process a return online. I spent over 50 minutes on the phone with escalation just trying to figure out how to return them -- and was told there was no easy fix. My only options were to ship the shoes back through UPS to the Baton Rouge store, which would take up to 21 days before I'd receive a refund, or drive another 45 minutes to an hour to return them in person. Since I have no faith in the Baton Rouge store handling it correctly, I now have to make another long drive just to get my refund. Absolutely ridiculous. Between the shipping mix-up, the lack of accountability, a manager who didn't take responsibility or tell the truth, poor communication, and total inconvenience, this has been one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I've ever had.

Jessica analyzed my walk, asked about my exercise activities and what I wanted in a shoe. She brought out 5 different pairs and discussed the pros/cons of each pair based on my needs. Found the perfect pair - a brand (Hoka) I'd never even heard of before my chiropractor suggested it. You can even wear your shoes for 30 days and bring them back to exchange for a different pair if they don't work out. That's customer service! Don't waste money shopping around for shoes that may or may not fit properly, go see the experts and get the right fit for your needs. Your feet will thank you!

Went into this Footlocker in the Mall of Louisiana last night to exchange some shoes I bought 4…read moredays ago. When an employee named Dre helped me, he said I cannot return the shoes because they had been worn. Yes, I did wear them one day after I purchased them but quickly came to the conclusion that the tongue and rear ankle padding were rubbing to hard. The shoes were still in brand new condition and didn't have a mark on them. So I went home and called Footlocker to find out more. I was then told by two different stores that I could return the shoes if they have not been worn for a full money refund, or if they had been worn, I could receive store credit to pick out a new pair. Which is all I wanted to do in the first place. Oh and I live about 30 minutes from Footlocker so all that time and money was a waste. It would be great If the employees knew the correct information instead of just saying no, literally within the first 15 seconds of speaking to them. So I will now buy all my shoes from Champs :)

I've been looking for a roof rack loader for my Pescador Perception so, since Thule and Yakima accessories are pretty much interchangeable, I Google search Thule and Yakima dealers in the area. Two popped up and The Backpacker was one of them. It's a dreary rainy day and lunch time. I managed to find the shop in spite of the lunch traffic on Jefferson Hwy. I parked and walked inside. I was immediately received with a friendly greeting by several of the staff with offers to help me. I told them I was "just looking around" and they left me to myself with me knowing if I needed any help they'd be there. I like that. I wandered around for about 30 minutes and I managed to find a few things. Some I needed and some I didn't know I needed. So, I carried my bounty to the register and was checking out. I asked the young man if they had a THule or Yakima kayak loader. He replied, " We don't have any T-hule loaders or Yakima loaders in stock." I always find it amusing when the folks in the outfitting shops do that. I'm not "Sveedish" so I'll continue to say "THule" LOL. In all seriousness, the shop is very comfortable and friendly. The staff are extremely helpful and not overbearing/pushy. I travel to BR often on business and I'll continue to stop by "The Backpacker" to find things I didn't know I needed. I'm convinced that if they don't have it, you don't really need it.
