I had an experience with Mr. Liem Do regarding my parents' upcoming living trust appointment that left me concerned. I called the office to discuss the pros and cons of a living trust versus a transfer-on-death (TOD) arrangement for the house my parents own. Since Mr. Do was unavailable, I spoke with Brian, who mentioned he would relay my request to Mr. Do. However, Mr. Do later returned my call to inform me that he had canceled my parents' appointment, suggesting that I could handle the TOD myself. I find it unprofessional that he canceled the appointment without confirming or clarifying my inquiry. This lack of communication raises doubts about his professionalism and the trustworthiness of the services he offers. read more

The lawyer talked very nice on talk show, but the receptionists were very unprofessional when I called the office. When I called to ask if we could make appointment to see the lawyer for a living trust for my aunt, the receptionist was extremely rude, acting like I was not invited, or the office did not want the business. I asked if I could leave my name and number to have the lawyer to call me back and make appointment. I was told by them in a very rude voice they would not do that. They would talk to my aunt and decide from there, like I am not allowed in the conversations. I have not officially met with them, but I could imagine we would face a lot of difficulty down the line if the living trust we pay them to serve are with errors and require corrections. They could make us worse down the line. My suggestion for you if you read my review is to stay away from the law office. read more

Very interesting 1st encounter. I called the office based on a recommendation of a close friend for a Living Trust. A gentleman who answered the phone spoke in broken Vietnamese saying we need to call back in 2 weeks and then we can talk to the attorney as he's busy now. I was taken back by this strange response as though they didn't want my business. I asked why he couldn't take a message and have lawyer call me back and he just repeated the same statement. I thought maybe the lawyer had to be in court, so I asked further and finally was told he was out of town. Typically in a well-run office, for a new customer, shouldn't you just take a message and have the lawyer call back, or at least let the customer know the reason why the lawyer was not available for 2 weeks. First impression is everything and I was left feeling very disappointed. read more

First time hiring and first time needing a lawyer, easy communication and process but took awhile.

I would, and have on multiple occasions, recommend Liem Do & Associates. My mom was referred by a friend almost 8 years ago to go see LD&A after a car accident in which she was not at fault for. It was a tricky case, in that the other party directed blame towards my mom, even after admitting fault at the time of the accident- but, thankfully, she was able to win the case. At that time, my mom had zero clue on how to navigate a situation such as that. She'd never been out in a situation where she had to hire an attorney. She knew nothing about how laws worked. Haha. But after consulting with them, they kind of just took the wheel and made the whole process easy for her com start to finish. My dad, brother and I were also put into similar situations, with all 3 of our cases ending up settled in our favor. My car accident actually occurred while I was out of state for grad school. My mom advised that I contact LD&A, in which I thought... how? I don't even live in CA. I called anyway, and Aileen worked her magic and got me the medical care I needed while I was out of state. How? I don't know. But she did. She maintained close communication with me and made the whole process seamless. My family member was in an accident a couple of months ago that wasn't his fault. The lawyer he got was incompetent and charged him a lot of $$$ for a retainer. The case is still pending. I went to Liem Do and Associates for a second opinion. They kindly pulled all of the official legal records and examined the case. Afterwards, they explained that my family member was over-charged on the retainer and gave us advice on how to negotiate with the existing lawyer we had! They explained that the case was near completion and it didn't make sense to move it. Not only that, they didn't charge us for the advice, even though they had to pay money to pull the legal records! The reason I am leaving a four star review is because of the receptionist, Michelle. As another review mentioned, she is extremely unprofessional and rude. My mom and I came in saying we had an appointment at 1 pm. She said the attorney never takes appointments at that time, and she accused us of remembering incorrectly. Great law office. We came in for a living trust service and the attorney provided thorough explanation of the process. He did not rush on time like other law offices do, so have as many questions as you can. we got a shiny engraved binder for the premium paid. The Associates seem fine except for the notorizer lady who displayed quite an attitude - she came in to sign off some paper while texting on her phone and didn't seem to care that we were there or for good customer service. The attorney should use his big hammer (pic) on her a bit more often. Overall a pleasant experience. read more
