This review is not for the church but for the cute Dog Park they have created. Our vet told us about this place. It is sort of close to our house so we decided to go see what it is about. It is call Jake's Place Dog Park. They day we attending not another soul was around. Our dog and us. I hope some more people in the area make it a regular thing. Has a small dog and a big dog side. We got to play in both since no one else was there. Both sides have some agility gear to use. Water fountain. A bench for the human breed. Not a huge dog park but since we were the only ones there how much space do you need. It was fun to use the agility gear and I am sure we will be back.

*Disclaimer* This is NOT about the Church services.. it is about the Disc Golf Course and the great staff from the church. Most recently, as a member of the local disc golf community and a board member of the large Waterloo Disc Golf Club, I attended the grand opening of their 9-Hole Disc Golf course. This was the first event of the kind for the staff and members of the Life Austin Church and they put everything they could into it. They provided food, snacks, water, Kona ice, raffle prizes, disc golf clinics, and many other things that made the day special for kids and their families. Pastor Randy Phillips (of the same great music group Phillips, Craig, and Dean) has a great spirit with him and he really appreciates the community. It was great speaking with him when I had the chance (and having fun with his dog.. who doesn't love a fun dog?). The course is a nice medium length technical course. Challenging enough for experienced players and easy enough for beginners. I appreciated the layout and design of the course considering the tight land constraints they have to work with. Hole one is by the parking lot, under the tree, near the volley ball courts. You will see a course map there as well. The course was designed and installed by local Innova Discs Pro Joel Kelley. [Disclaimer: He is a friend of mine.. but that shouldn't matter as you will like the design and I just like to state that for the record (keeping Yelp honest!)] As a very experienced player, I enjoyed watching Joel, members of the UT Disc Golf Club, and others give tutorials on the skills needed to play. I really enjoyed seeing the smiles on everyone's face while having a fun day in the sun as a family. Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone get introduced into a beloved sport involving discs AND seeing it played together with families. WIN! = WIN! The course is not long, but has it's great attributes. The lengths of the holes are moderate from 180ft to 320ft, with only one long hole over 400ft, so leave your "big arm" throws at home. Here it's all about technique and consistency. The tee pads are concrete and the baskets are mounted well. You will find yourself throwing from elevated tees, across gaps, and to an elevated basket. You can also find yourself throwing uphill, downhill, across creeks, and on flat land. You have most of all the things that you desire in an introductory course with challenges. So, if you are looking for something to do before or after church; come play it. If you are passing by the area or live nearby, this is a great beginners course that can help you learn the sport and meet others in the community. Note: Be prepared from some unexpected creek crossings if it rains hard a day or two before you play. It seems that mother-nature decided to carve paths between some of the holes. On opening day they circumvented this, but it was never planned to have walking paths through water run-offs. Life Happens! Additional note: Like in all of Central Texas, there are up-n-down inclines, cactus, bull nettle, and other things that could affect your day in a painful sad way. So simply use caution..and understand the concerns. If you wanted to avoid the steepest of inclines, you may want to skip holes #1 and #2... just remember: it's Texas and enjoy the outdoors! Get out and play. Teach a kid to putt and you teach them for life. Play It Forward. Grow The Sport!

#1 elevated to elevated. Drainage basin in between.

Horrible experience - Extremely unwelcoming, unfriendly, non-inclusive "Christian" experience. Would never recommend to anyone.

We heard about the church while we're living in Virginia and about the book 'No perfect people…read moreallowed" so when we moved to Texas we visited. We wanted to get more involved so we went a small group in Cedar Park for a while. I also worked with a young fellow who attended the church. Then we interacted with members on Facebook . The common thread is that they HATE. Not brown people , not poor people but Republicans. I don't remember any of them calling attention to Jesus . No room for anyone of different viewpoints. It's an "us" versus "them" hotbed. . So much for "no perfect people ... emphasis on the word ALLOWED since they no doubt run everyone else off. One of their "members" Nancy even said on FB that NO Christian SHOULD honor Charlie Kirk. I'm sure it's a wonderful place if you believe there should be only one political party in the US. .... Something about the culture there since it's the common denominator , Right ? If it's a root level ground swell of members so be it ... but if it's a top down thing : James 3:1-12 Amplified Bible (AMP) Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly].

I love how he stands by the entrance both at the beginning and at the end of the service, making time for people in such a personal way. Today after 12:15pm service, my father and I were waiting to greet him. I dreamed about him last night, so it felt important to at least shake his hand, introduce him to my dad who is visiting from out of country. Pastor Brad was in conversation with someone else, and because of his kindness and desire not to be rude, he continued to give them his full attention. My dad grew a little impatient, and we were about to leave, but just as we were walking away, Pastor Brad noticed us and called out with such warmth: "Hey!" He greeted us so genuinely, as though he had been aware of us the whole time. That moment carried such light, humility, & thoughtfulness- it reminded me of how Jesus notices people, even in the smallest details. It may seem simple, but it meant a lot to me and my father. Pastor Brad's example is a true reflection of Christ's heart. The worship here is my fav. It's powerful, uplifting, Spirit-filled. I've also been deeply blessed by the Freedom Group. Although I haven't quite found close community yet, I still love attending service because of the worship, the Word, and Pastor Brad's Christ-centered leadership. Such a great welcoming team and praise God for the parking team.

Thankfully, a good friend of ours recommended City Reach; and after checking out the church over a couple of Sundays, we made our choice. We enjoyed and continue to be delighted by the friendliness of the church member community here. The parking team does a wonderful job each Sunday to make sure we find a parking spot, and they have a shuttle that brings us to the entrance. Drip coffee and hot tea are provided if you'd like to enjoy a hot beverage while worshipping and listening to the sermon. The worship teams are truly in the spirit and sing in the name of Jesus. The worship sets are powerful and we can feel the Holy Spirit moving within us, and we see how others around us have been impacted as well. The pastor is unapologetic in preaching what is written in the Bible. He doesn't add fluff but stays true to the Word. His expository style is appreciated as he highlights the main ideas while calling out key points. They also have a children's program, from infants through high school. Their new campus is beautiful and has several parking lots to choose from. There is also overflow parking available with a shuttle provided. City Reach Church isn't charismatic nor is it traditional (we've been to both kinds in the past), it's actually fun and we look forward to going each Sunday! The style here is unique, though it's not necessarily for everyone. If you're curious to learn what a relationship with Jesus looks like, are new in your walk with Jesus, or if you're looking for a new church home, we highly recommend giving City Reach a try!
