Warning to Families - Neglect and Unsafe Conditions I am…read morewriting this review with a heavy heart and deep concern for any family considering this facility for their loved one. A very close family member of mine, who suffers from dementia and cannot care for himself, is currently a resident here--(not for much longer) and the level of neglect is alarming. Every visit reveals the same distressing pattern: Patient is often found with a full, untouched tray of food in front of him, despite being unable to feed himself. Patient is frequently half-dressed or in inappropriate clothing. On one occasion, we found him lying on the floor with no staff in sight to assist or even respond. There is never a doctor on site, only "on call," and no real medical oversight when urgent issues arise. Every concern that family brings up is met with the same excuse: "We're short-staffed." We understand that staffing issues are real, but they cannot be used as a blanket excuse for neglect. This is not just poor service--it is dangerous, and it is neglect. If you are considering placing your loved one here, I urge you to visit multiple times at different hours and ask hard questions. Family actively exploring other care options because this is simply not safe

Our son looks forward to seeing Lindsey every week and always leaves with a huge smile on his face. Lindsey uses playful and creative ways to encourage his speech development making his time spent there practical and fun. The staff is professional and has always been prompt when dealing with any issues including insurance/billing and scheduling. We are very happy with their services!

We chose Let's Talk because of their specialized knowledge in treating my son's specific speech condition, and I am beyond thrilled with the progress he has made. Even from a young age, my son has always looked forward to playing with Miss Lindsey because she frames all of his speech work around his interests (over the years it's been trains, trucks, cars, Frozen, rescue bots...you name it, and she will design speech exercises to engage him!!) They are also very community-minded, getting involved in local events and holding fun contests throughout the year (their Halloween costume contest being a particular fave for my kiddos!) Most importantly though, Lindsey's work with my son has been instrumental in helping him "find his voice" and speak so beautifully. Highly recommend!!!

My mother had a stroke and went through intensive rehabilitation at Spaulding in Charlestown, MA…read more After insurance rejected continued coverage at Spaulding, I had only one day to find a place she could receive step down care for the remainder of her rehabilitation before going back to independent living in a senior community. Sachem had high ratings on paper, so we chose it without checking it out first. Big mistake. The day she transferred in, I went to check the place out, only to be greeted by a strong sewage smell at the front door. I was too late, she was already in a double room. Within 4 days, I saw a significant decline in all of the progress my mother had made. Her speech started to become unclear again and she was confined to a wheel chair or bed. I asked the head nurse what steps I would need to take to transfer her to another, better step down facility. That's the only time things started to change. I met with the coordinators of social services, physical and occupational therapy, and nursing to discuss a plan. In the meantime, some of my mothers belongs went missing. They moved her to a private room and she ended up staying for the rest of the approved time at Sachem, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I had to argue that I simply wanted my mother treated with the same courtesy and care they would give their OWN mothers. Apparently, they don't care about their own moms, because little changed. If there was anything good from the experience, it would be that it helped my mother start to process her fear of additional strokes, because she wanted out of Sachem so badly.
