Not a good start…read more My wife just transferred to this place. We signed all the appropriate documents to get her full support for nutrition and treatment. We requested a low-fat diet and they said they cannot honor that until a nutritionist on Monday evaluates her situation and they gave her a full fat diet of food. She can't eat that. Pancreatitis. Because of her knee replacement surgery she needs a walker to get to the bathroom. They won't give her one until Physical Therapy evaluates her on monday. This means she must lie in bed and wait for staff to help her to get to the bathroom. They don't come when she calls and she lies in a wet diaper for hours. She is prone to UTI's. This facility doesn't even have the Pure Wick system, a necessity when having incontinent patients. They don't have Rx pain med in stock, so she has to wait hours for the prescription to be filled. All staff members are nice to talk with, but response for help is poorly lacking. We will be contacting her doctors and her Onbudsman to get her transfer to our chosen facility. As they stay progressed, so did the care to a certain point. Her PT therapist was great! The social worker was nice & took note of our complaints. Some of the staff need a new line of work. Some of the staff is fantastic. My wife told the concierge about both extremes. Praise for the praiseworthy & request the bad ones not assist my wife. Try to have someone with your loved one as much as possible & advocate.

My experience with CareOne at Randolph has been very positive. The facility is clean,…read morewell-maintained, and provides a comfortable environment for residents. The staff members are compassionate, professional, and truly dedicated to the well-being of the people they care for. From the nurses to the aides and therapy staff, everyone works hard to make sure residents feel safe, supported, and respected. One thing that really stood out to me was how attentive the staff are to individual needs. They take the time to listen, provide assistance when needed, and create a welcoming atmosphere for both residents and their families. The rehabilitation and therapy services are also excellent and focused on helping residents regain strength and independence. Overall, CareOne at Randolph is a place where residents are treated with dignity and kindness. I appreciate the level of activities as well provided by the activity staff I believe their names are Jolanda and Crystal.... they are a dynamic duo and really have stepped this place up

Patient confidentiality is flagrantly violated, and staff ignore calls until the phone auto hangs up. Treatment plans are neglected, my father was yelled at and called a liar by staff, over something he would never lie about. This place needs to be gutted staff wise or shut down, pathetic is an understatement. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE.

Warning to Families - Neglect and Unsafe Conditions I am…read morewriting this review with a heavy heart and deep concern for any family considering this facility for their loved one. A very close family member of mine, who suffers from dementia and cannot care for himself, is currently a resident here--(not for much longer) and the level of neglect is alarming. Every visit reveals the same distressing pattern: Patient is often found with a full, untouched tray of food in front of him, despite being unable to feed himself. Patient is frequently half-dressed or in inappropriate clothing. On one occasion, we found him lying on the floor with no staff in sight to assist or even respond. There is never a doctor on site, only "on call," and no real medical oversight when urgent issues arise. Every concern that family brings up is met with the same excuse: "We're short-staffed." We understand that staffing issues are real, but they cannot be used as a blanket excuse for neglect. This is not just poor service--it is dangerous, and it is neglect. If you are considering placing your loved one here, I urge you to visit multiple times at different hours and ask hard questions. Family actively exploring other care options because this is simply not safe

Jim P's terrific review says it all. Orchid Cove is better than great in just about every way! Had a nice lunch there today with mom. Perfectly grilled Rueban with fries for a side. Came out quick and hot. Eaten there many times and it's always good with courteous, attentive service. That being said dining is by invitation only from a resident. Lucky me. Took a nice walk around after lunch really beautiful grounds this time of year.

It's not perfect - no place is - but the relatively small problems at OC do not in any way overshadow the friendly and helpful staff, good food, interesting and useful programs (including performances, art classes, book club, talks on various topics, etc.). I looked at numerous elder communities with my aunt before she moved here, and you will not find anything better (although you will find others that are also excellent - the final choice is determined by location, cost, environment, and personal preference). I would not at all hesitate at all to choose OC for an elder community!
