She came to Dad's bedside at the post-acute facility to make it easy for me to ask questions and sign him up for care at home. She has served as a valuable liaison. Nurse Dilara advocated for my dad with his doctor when anything wasn't quite right, drew blood for tests, filled pill boxes, and made sure med refills were up-to-date. Really appreciated having her in our corner. PT Abha and OT Ryan were super professional and helpful. Abha spoke loudly and clearly, which was super helpful for my hard-of-hearing dad. We decided to go with caregivers from ProHealth as well and have worked with some very competent, caring people. They are the true heroes who come day in and day out to accompany Dad in running errands and at appointments, support him with meals and tasks around the house, and keep the house clean and tidy. I'm very thankful to everyone at ProHealth who has served my dad in one capacity or another!

They cared for my father-in-law during the final stage of his life, and what could have been an incredibly dark and overwhelming period was instead peaceful, dignified, and even hopeful. The owner, Blanche, is truly remarkable. From the very beginning you can sense that this isn't just a business to her -- it's a calling. She is compassionate, deeply thoughtful, and also a real visionary in how she runs the organization. Heart of Hope has the rare balance of being large enough to be organized, responsive, and efficient, but still small enough that every patient and family receives deeply personal care. That combination is actually quite rare. With some larger hospice organizations we spoke with, things felt impersonal and bureaucratic. Heart of Hope felt the exact opposite -- professional and capable, but always human. One thing that stood out from the very beginning was how Blanche and Shama helped my in-laws navigate the incredibly difficult decision of when to engage hospice care. That is a deeply emotional decision for any family, and my in-laws wrestled with it for some time. Blanche and Shama were unbelievably patient through that process. They never pressured, never rushed, and were always available to talk things through. They listened carefully, answered questions honestly, and approached the whole situation with compassion and understanding. Their calm guidance helped my in-laws arrive at the decision in their own time, and with peace about it. That alone meant a great deal to our family. Another thing that meant a lot to us is that the team understood the cultural and spiritual nuances that were important to our family. My father-in-law was both Asian and Christian, and the team showed real sensitivity to both of those parts of his identity. They understood the importance of family dynamics, respect, and the spiritual dimension of the moment. It never felt forced or scripted -- it felt natural and sincere. We were especially grateful for Shama, the Director of Nursing. She is incredibly detail-oriented and an outstanding communicator. My mother-in-law understandably had a lot of questions, fears, and specific requests about how things should be handled -- including preferences around things like the amount of medication being used. Shama handled all of this with remarkable patience and wisdom. She listened carefully, respected our concerns, and helped guide us to the right balance so that my father-in-law remained comfortable while still honoring my mother-in-law's wishes. What was particularly invaluable was how she prepared us for what to expect physically as his condition changed. The body goes through many transitions in the final days and hours, and without guidance those changes can be frightening. Shama walked us through what might happen and why. Because she had briefed us in advance, moments that could have been alarming instead felt understandable and manageable. We also spent a lot of time with Nurse Kim, who was absolutely wonderful. She was responsive, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful in her care. What stood out most was how she balanced sensitivity with clarity. She was gentle and compassionate, but also direct and honest when explaining what was happening and what needed to be done. That honesty was deeply reassuring. She checked in frequently, followed up on details, and treated my father-in-law with real warmth and respect. You could tell she cared deeply about both the patient and the family. We also had the privilege of working with Lanie, who helped care for my father-in-law personally and made sure he was clean, comfortable, and able to feel like himself even in a very fragile state. Those small acts of dignity matter enormously at the end of life, and she handled them with kindness and grace. And during one particularly scary episode, Vivian, who was on call, guided us through the situation with remarkable calm and expertise. Knowing that we could call anytime and speak with someone knowledgeable was incredibly reassuring. In fact, the whole team was very flexible about adjusting their schedules and level of contact when circumstances required more care or attention, which made a huge difference for our family. When people think of hospice, it's easy to imagine something clinical or depressing. Our experience with Heart of Hope was the opposite. The team helped create an environment where my father-in-law could pass peacefully, surrounded by dignity and care, and where our family could move through the process with understanding instead of fear. We are deeply grateful to Blanche, Shama, Kim, and the entire Heart of Hope team for the compassion, professionalism, and humanity they brought into our home. They helped transform what could have been an incredibly painful period into something gentle, respectful, and even meaningful.
