This is a cautionary tale to those early in a pregnancy! Customer service and transparency could definitely be improved upon. My husband booked me a massage as a gift and when I showed up I noticed on the intake form that if you are under 14 weeks pregnant they cannot give you a massage. I immediately notified the front desk as this was not stated on the website in the spa policies. I was completely unaware that massages were prohibited as my doctor gave me the go ahead weeks earlier in the pregnancy. The spa insisted on charging us for the full service even though they refused it. They told me it was my husbands fault for not mentioning the pregnancy when he made the appointment. The cancellation policy states that no-shows and cancellations are subject to a charge, however this was a cancellation due to an unknown spa policy so seems completely unreasonable. I recommend that management considers clearly stating this in their policies to avoid unnecessary charges and wasting the time of their clients. read more

Disclaimer: This was my first time getting a massage, and I didn't ask for anything special! Service: Making a reservation for me and my brother was a piece of cake, and our receptionist was patient with us when we had to change the appointment to a later time. Everyone at the spa was courteous and calm, which fits the atmosphere. Atmosphere and Amenities: I really liked how they had a special waiting area stocked with free snacks, tea, and water. It was a good way to wind down before the massage. The music was relaxing, but not over the top, and the place as a whole emanated calmness. Massage: My therapist asked me about what was bothering me and how much pressure I liked, but otherwise got straight down to business. It was a full body massage (when we made the appt they did not ask for what type and automatically set it for 1 hour), complete with oil and moist, hot towels that concluded the massage of each body region. I felt completely at ease with my therapist despite it being my first time, and if it weren't the fact that I was visiting from out of town, I would definitely go back there on a regular basis. read more

ZERO STARS!!! NEW OWNER IS SUBPAR! My 10yr old little girl had a traumatic experience here. First, they scheduled her with the wrong esthetician ( I had vetted my request). I'm wMy daughter left feeling shamed and humiliated with the impression that her skin issues were her own fault. I'm sure that was not the intent, but it was the outcome. I handled it amicably as a consistent and amenable customer.. dropping $800/month. However, due to the fact my daughter left in tears and I brought it to their attention... the owner (Cassandra) told me never to come back... Even though I was still booking multiple appointments. MOST of the women whom work here are lovely, but the owner/management is messy & unprofessional.. IF YOU ARE A MOTHER, you know that we always want to protect our children, but this is something my little girl will never forget: IF YOU ARE A MOTHER or decent human being, I would highly recommend NEVER giving this spa your business. Sorella, Rocky Mtn Day Spa & The Dermatology Center are FAR BETTER options.... They treat clients properly. While Cassandra begrudgingly refunded me the $150 for a teen facial, she never apologized and and blacklisted me which is simply not insane considering I was forgiving, BAD BUSINESS!!! My step-daughter and I went for facials. Place is well located and clean. Staff friendly. Check-in check-out process cumbersome. Before our facials had five minutes in their new sauna 'box' which has glass windows and really needs a curtain for privacy as it sits in a front hallway with people walking by. Facial room was clean, quiet, comfortable. My aesthetician Danielle was very good, and very sweet. The myriad of treatments were both soothing and stimulating. The hour went by quickly. It was an enjoyable experience but would I go there again? It was very pricy for two 1 hour facials, brief sauna time, brow wax for daughter and tip - $400+. This was my first time at Life Essential Spa. I've seen many advertisements from this spa showing a sleek brochure with a wide selections of services. We had 3 women requesting a 90 minute massage and luckily, they had three same day appointments. It's location is downtown along a side street. It looked small from the outside and when the owner walked us to the back area, I was really shocked there was a tiny sitting area. There's no locker room. No sauna, robes, or flip flops. There was an offering of trail mix, hot tea bags and a water machine. Long hanging drapery separates the "relaxation room" from service rooms. We were using quiet voices but the owner/manager peaked around the corner and asked us to be even quieter...twice. It was a bit of an unusual spa start. After filling out paper work, we were greeted all at once by the masseuses. Once in a treatment room, I understood why we needed to be super quiet. The walls do not touch a ceiling so essentially you are looking up into unfinished ceiling beams that are draped with an array of white sound absorbers that look like sheets and pillows. A flawed design if you asked me. You can literally hear the person next to you in muted conversation with their therapist. After the unconventional set up, I must say that I had an amazing massage from a gentleman. I think his name was David. He spoke little but simply could find every muscle and spot that needed attention. I can not say enough positives about him. 90 minutes went too fast but it was obvious he was in tune to finding problematic muscle issues even when you did not realize they existed. Five stars for him! However, I feel they need to improve the awkward relaxing room, Connect walls to a lower ceiling for quiet and privacy and charge a little less since there is no big cost without a locker room, towels, robe, traditional full spa amenities. $185 might be a touch too high for a massage without the spa perks. They have $10 and $15 coupons in all the advertisements, so you might as well use it since the cost of the massage is factored with their print advertisement budget. From the other reviews, I can see most the services are good. I would give it 4 stars and my humble suggestions. read more

My 12 year old son hurt his back during a baseball tournament here in town. I called several spas. Life Essentials immediately contacted me back and fit us in right away that day. The masseuse was incredible. She was very patient. He was in pain, so she did an amazing job of relaxing him and then working on the sore spot. She made sure that both he (and I, because I was in the room) knew about everything she did to make sure we were both comfortable. She also showed us some stretches to prevent another injury. I went here for a pedi and polish change this morning and was pretty disappointed. First, I went to the wrong spa (All Seasons Wellness) but was quickly redirected when a kind woman from Life Essentials called me and told me they are just around the corner...phew! I arrived and was greeted warmly and led straight to the pedi/mani area. This is where the disappoint begins. The pedi area is a leather lazy boy right next to the receptionist's desk, separated by a screen/room divider. The chair faces a window and I didn't notice the shade that could have been pulled down until I was almost done...bummer because the sunlight was really messing with my eyes. So I'm getting settled in the metal basin of warm water at my feet and trying to figure out how I had gone to the wrong spa when all of a sudden I hear the receptionist answer a phone call "Thank you for calling All Season Wellness Day Spa". What?!? Do they own both spas or maybe take appointments for them both?? Whatever the explanation, I was certainly not told that my appointment would be at a different location. I decided not to say anything because it was a non-issue at that point. The pedi was not great...definitely not worth the price. The set up with the chair and the basin was a little awkward for the technician. No attention given to my heels or callouses. Paint job was just ok. My polish change was the worst. The tech pulled over a wooden tv tray to work on and it was far enough away from me that even sitting up straight, I had to stretch my arms out in front of me to get my hands onto the tray for her to work on. When she gets to the top coat, she asks me if I want regular or shimmer. I asked her what the shimmer looked like and she said she put it on my toes. Sure enough, there's glitter on my toenails...not sure why she didn't ask me before putting it on. I didn't care for the glitter so I asked for regular top coat on my fingernails. When she was done, I looked down at my nails and was speechless. I've never seen a paint job this bad. The polish was not smooth at all and I had to ask her to clean off the polish that was on the skin around every nail. The only explanation I can think of is that her back was to the window which blocked the sunlight and the lighting in the spa was minimal. I'm a chicken when it comes to complaining in person, so I said nothing, paid my bill and had a second mani polish change done at a nail salon across town (it was that bad). I hate to say such negative things about the tech's skills because she has goals and ambition (per our conversation), but she just wasn't up to snuff and I won't return because of it. read more

The place has a small lobby area but the environment was relaxing, the host friendly, and the massages oh so relaxing!
