This year we visited to meet cats. The cat area had some in their crates and we were asked not to open the doors or lift them without someone helping us. The other had a few cats roaming and enjoying an open room. Overall they seemed stressed with one another as we watched several hissing and swiping of another got too close. Kittens were in a locked room. They were cute and fairly social but we weren't allowed to see them. Most were tagged for the cat cafe. We hoped to see an older cat in the Intake area. We waited awhile for assistance and eventually gave up and left. The volunteer working the front desk was lovely but the staff didn't stop to check on us. In the big picture the organization does good things for the community and pairing people with pets, including horses. The main campus hasn't changed throughout the years and is aging. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is that with they recently changed their hours so they are now open 11-4 M-F and 10-3 Saturday. This has made it more difficult to bring school aged kids here during the week, whereas we used to be able to make it after-school. Overall, very positive experiences here! It's not a large space but I did find a sweet 10 year old kitty that I ended taking home and rescuing 2 days later! The process was simple, filled out an adoption application and once approved I was able to take her home! I got the paperwork on her and everything was seamless. I did have to get a carrier but they do sell cardboard ones for $5! Highly recommend at least to pop in and see if you can save an animal

Even though we arrived around closing time, we were given time alone to bond with the dog and make sure it was the right fit. We could tell the animal was well cared for and the staff was very friendly. The dog had been micro chipped and received vaccinations. We were allowed to bring the dog we already had to make sure it would get along with its new companion. All in all, it was a good experience and we are happy customers enjoying time with our new family member.

It's honestly unacceptable for a shelter that claims to want to help animals find homes. When I finally managed to speak to someone, the woman I talked to was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than offering any help or understanding, she made me feel like I was wasting her time. I mentioned that their website and google search clearly says they're open on Saturdays by appointment, and she flat-out told me that Saturdays are not an option -- with zero explanation and an attitude that was shockingly rude for someone representing an animal shelter. Their limited hours -- only a few hours Monday through Friday -- make it almost impossible for anyone with a job to adopt. Add the lack of communication, slow response time, and unprofessional behavior, and it's no wonder so many animals are still waiting for homes. It's heartbreaking, because the animals here deserve so much better than this kind of disorganization and attitude. If the staff can't manage basic courtesy or responsiveness, how are they supposed to help the animals in their care find loving families? I truly hope they take this feedback seriously and make real improvements, because right now, it feels like they're standing in the way of adoptions, not helping them happen.

After looking at the kittens which were adorable by the way . I spotted this two year old all gray two year old cat named Shadow. For me it was a done deal ! He was loving from the jump and purring up a storm as I pet him. He let me hold him and didn't struggle to get away. The employees there are so friendly and genuinely happy to have either a cat or dog or any animal adopted . The gift area had some really good buys so I got my neighbors dog a jacket and a tee shirt each item was five dollars and a toy. I got my sister the cutest sweatshirt for Christmas there . Currently Shadow is getting used to his new home and already spoiled within the hour of being home .
