I have multiple years of experience in dog grooming. I started out as a bather and eventually went to school to become a groomer. I took some time off to work in a vet clinic to further my experience with clients and to recognize certain behaviors that would indicate illness in my grooming clients. For example I can tell when a dog is about to have a seizure so I can stop what I am doing to lessen the chances of the seizure being worse. Then, the cages looked like a jail. It was gross, and just had a bad vibe, but I couldn't change plans so I just had to leave them. When I got back to get them they were BOTH sick. When we arrived to drop them off, the staff wasn't friendly or inviting, which should have been our tell-all. Walking back to the kennel, it was dark, cold, uninviting, and sad. The worst part was picking them up. We arrived early, which gave us the true picture of their time there. They were so frantic to get out of there, they weren't happy to see us, but instead blazed past us for the front door like they were trying to escape. We've never seen them act this way. Despite having "outdoor access" their beds and blankets smelled so badly of pet waste we had to discard them, and they were having to lay in that filth and stink because they seemed to have had nowhere else to go. They also had never been given their toys or treats. The staff was as cold and unfriendly as when we left them, we should have run for our lives and never ever left our babies there. Expensive and horrible.
