Also the size of the location is great. It may be a strip mall gym, but don't let it fool you. I came from the bigger box gym and don't regret it at all. The atmosphere is nice. It's big and spacious. Plenty of room to exercise in. The cardio equipment is up front, free weights behind that, and machines to the right. There is also a separate room for your own personal-like space.

Cable are upstairs but are a one pulley system so different from most gyms. Main reason for a 4 star over a 5 star would be that if your workout consists of intermittent cable to free weights it's a lot of up and down the steps. Could use some more machine variety for upper body only upper body plate loaded machine is chest press, would love to see a back focused machine in there that targets the lats. Very clean and well maintained. Gym goers here seem to enjoy this gym and have a lot of repeat members coming to this gym. I drive past two anytime to get to this one on the daily just for the free weights in the basement and the metal plates would definitely recommend. Allows recording, allows posing.

Upon walking up to the door, we were greeted by a middle aged tan man who told my friend "you have to scan your key fob- it's a law", as if she didn't have her key fob already in her hand reaching out to scan it. He then motioned to me "and your key fob?" I said "oh, I'm not a member I'm her friend" to which he responded "well you can only come during staffed hours, it's 1-7" in a tone as if we should have "already known this". His tone to both of us this entire exchange was as if he thought we were dumb- not sure if it's because we are in our early 20's or what. On her buddy pass card it DOES say "only during staffed hours"- but does not mention what time that is. We had assumed that they would have staff at their facility by 9:30am, as most businesses do. He told us we couldn't come in. Because of this encounter, I am truly never interested in going to ANY gym again, let alone an 'anytime fitness'. PLEASE- have respect for people who are trying to use your facility, I was interested in becoming a member and now my friend is considering ending her membership. Treat everyone with respect.

All of the toilets were dirty, DUSTY(tells you they have not been cleaned in some time) and had urine or feces on the tank or down the front of the toilet! This location is busy! How can it be that no one is cleaning this bathroom!? The equipment is not well maintained here. I saw at least 3 machines with signs that said "out of order" and one of the toilets in the women's locker room was also "out of order." When I went to leave, the guy at the front was still on his phone, looked up and nodded and then went back to whatever he was doing. This location needs HELP! I highly recommend the Blaine location off hwy 65 or the Coon rapids location at Riverdale! Those are managed very well!!

Bonita at the front desk who helped was so helpful and friendly. I know some Y locations have some lockers that have code locks on them and you don't need a personal lock. This location did not. I didn't realize that till I was in the locker room. I did go back up to the front desk and Bonita was able to borrow me a lock with me just giving my car keys in exchange. There is huge amount of various machines here for anyone and everyone to get a workout in. They have numerous squat racks as well. It was definitely busy on a Saturday morning but I was able to get a workout in without having to wait for a machine. Definitely an awesome Y location!
