There are 5 floors of exhibitions that tell the story of music in Canada, celebrate music icons at 4 Canadian Halls of Fame, rock out at interactive instrument installations & contain North America's most eclectic musical instrument collection. There are recording studios, family events, the CKUA radio station and venue rentals. There was so much to see I didn't realize Joni Mitchell, Paul Anka, Bryan Adams , Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, The Weeknd, Neil Young ...were Canadian. The building itself is beautiful. Jennifer called us and asked where we were and vectored the bus to pick us up along the way. Above and beyond customer service. Jennifer provided great narrative as we made ourselves around the city. This is more than a short downtown tour. We even got to go to the Olympics area west of town and have fabulous views of the Rocky Mountains. We learned about the history of Calgary and even visited the Heritage Park area. Enough time to grab coffee and Saskatoon berry ice cream. It was Stampede and we stopped at an overlook where we could see the whole grounds.

For one, it's expensive - over $300 for the both of us. We've never paid that much for a food tour so we had high hopes. The content was okay and the portions were big but the food honestly wasn't amazing. Plus, we had one gal in our group that had multiple allergies and they didn't plan it correctly so instead of catering one plate to her allergies, they had one plate alcohol free, one plate meat free, etc - and instead of taking back the extras and fixing it for everyone else, they just handed out her allergy plate. For example, there was one steak with a fermented beet sauce and fermented blackberry and since I was sitting next to her, they gave me the plate without either because it was made to be "alcohol free". To pay $150+ for this tour and not get what you paid for was a little disappointing. It was fine, just nothing special. I think a walking tour in downtown Banff would probably make more sense!

I didn't know what to expect, or better yet, I wasn't expecting much. And what a surprise, it was AMAZING! Karen, the owner was so friendly and knowledgable. The ladies attending the tour were very welcoming, the bus was comfortable and the tour was great. Who knew that cookies were so enticing. We visited 5 different locations, all incredible. The samples were generous and each location provided for enough treats to gain a few pounds, LOL! It started at Calgary's Farmers Market WEST with a delicious orange ginger juice, coffee, berries and the best hamburguer ever. There we visited the chocolatier and Yum Bakery, omg, the chocolate and the cookies were amazing, then we visited Mercato, Metro Vino, Crave and others that I forgot the name. It was fun, informative, delicious, very well organized, great hosts. Learnt a lot about the amazing food happening in Calgary, so super highly recommended!!
