Lifetime fitness' prices are ridiculously high and they keep getting higher. FYI - every time you make someone active or inactive they up your price to the new pricing. And when you ask if that is going to happen before you make any changes, they hide the fact that will happen. And when you inquire about that afterwards, they don't care that your price as increase. Even when I have been a member since 2007. Its $250 for an adult and child member. They like to be very exclusive. read more

Our family has been members at lifetime for two years now, and we've had an excellent experience. There is plenty of parking - though occasionally a little far out. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Parents night out haas been awesome. Our kids love the pool and rock climbing walls, as well as the basketball court and turf. The gym is always clean and there is plenty of equipment. This place is a life saver in the winter when it's too cold to get out but our boys need to burn energy. The cafe is on the spendy side, so we don't eat there very often, but we all like the smoothies. The classes I've taken have been excellent. Child care is very good. It's nice that when I travel, I can use other lifetime facilities. For our family, lifetime has been a great investment! The staff is fantastic. Even the young employees are always engaging, helpful, and friendly. Lifetime stands out this way. BUT... I have had to look elsewhere for red light therapy, which other gyms include with membership. Lifetime, usually progressive, is behind the curve on this. I just joined Planet Fitness which includes it- membership fee $20 per month at Rosemount and can use any location. I also look elsewhere for pilates. Signature members should have access to free redlight like gyms accross America offer, and also reduced cost pilates. The rooms are empty. Cut the monthly fees in half for signature members so we can gave a one stop shop. Pilates studio and classes are rarely full due to the cost. Signatures pay a decent amount and I know several who have put theirs on pause. I believe redlight and affordable pilates would keep those memberships active. Win win. read more

I was on the other side of the Twin Cities from where I live and I wanted a swim. Checked the LTF app out & found this nice facility here in Lakeville. There is a huge parking lot and easy handicapped access. The female check-in staff person was very friendly and helpful. I was amazed at the size of the outdoor swimming pools-yes pools: lap pool, rec pool, kiddie area, water slide. The outside bistro beckoned but I didn't bring my cards out to the pool area because I didn't notice all the tables and deck chairs (next time!). There is a Life Time Sports area as well. I really want to give this place a higher score but there are just a couple things that prevent me. Pros: kind staff, big facility, nice pool area, nice cafe, wonderful kids area, very clean Cons; it's always busy, the parking lot is insane (but it is big!), the biggest issue is the family locker room. There is no enforcement of rules that I've ever seen and there are always people without children using the family locker room. It makes my son so uncomfortable, especially when older men try to talk to him. He's only 4. I've mentioned something to staff but haven't seen any changes. There is no reason for older individuals to use the family gym when there are other locker rooms right next door. There are signs posted but not enforced. read more

Love this gym. One problem........ PLEASE BRING BACK THE SITTING CALF MACHINE.....this is from all the teenagers that need the siting calf machine. The only one you have right now is the back loaded one and it hurts the back to work calf's on that machine. This location is pretty nice. Even if its out in the middle of nowhere. I asked a co-worker what it was by and she was right. She lives in Lakeville and said it was kind of in the middle of nowhere. We weren't exactly sure where it was, but luckily we ran into by accident. The set up is almost exactly like the Bloomindale, IL location. It's a big one. Was happy to drive up and see the outdoor area with a ton of lawn chairs, umbrellas, two waterslides, a lap pool, leisure pool and a kiddie area. There is also a poolside life cafe. Plenty of lifeguards. It almost felt like we were on vacation with the wholeoutdoor set up. Really nice outdoor area. Inside has the lap pool, sauna, whirlpools with water cascading out, and an indoor leisure pool with two waterslides. The indoor pools were pretty dead. Work out area is like all the other ones. This one has the rock wall which is pretty impressive and is pretty good size height wise. We didn't participate, but will check back to try it. This location is pretty nice. The indoor floor was pretty dirty and could use a good squegee every once in awhile. It gets pretty slippery when wet in the locker rooms and on the inside pool deck. Wish they had the make-up removers, mouthwash and other extras, but I can get those at WBL. Very nice club. Looking forward to makig the trek out again when its really hot. read more

I had a meeting in the area so I went to this one just prior I love my lifetime in WBL but this was like going to the best resort ever. Outdoor hottub, lap pool and kids pool with multiple great slides Indoor and hot tub (both excellent) lap pool and kids area with a slide also. Lifecafe was both at the pool and inside. I have both worked at and been a member of lifetime in two different states and it is a great gym. There are lots of amenities such as both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs saunas and steam rooms. Free child care. Large and open exercise rooms with great machines, Pilates and Yoga and even a spa and a life cafe. Some have tennis and pickleball and other racquet sports. Over all it is a great operation. I highly recommend it. read more

For all the space of this building that is wasted, you'd think they would expand the weight area. They could put a separate Alpha area. There are 5 racks here and the alpha class has first dibs. I can't do my workout! Space management is awful here. Move the Pilates/yoga rooms somewhere else and put the alpha studio there. Easy. This needs to change! read more

We signed up last week after visiting. Megan, the account manager was amazing to work with. She was very nice and very pleasant to work with. I went a few days later and she remembered my name and Gerry's name. That was surprising- I have the hardest time remembering names. The facility is beautiful. Just beautiful. There is a bike room that you can use when not in class. There is an open gym you can use when not in class. The spa is beautiful and the place you do Yoga is so cool. Ok so now today I was looking at their pool schedule- they have 3 pools by the way and two water slides.... one pool is outside! Okay back to the class. I took a water class called WTRX. It is a 45 minute water work out. I feel like I just ran a marathon. Partially because I am out of shape and partially because It was a really good work out. Dani was our trainer and she was so kind, high energy and positive. She really kept the class going. She was so very personable. I am definitely coming back. Wish that the hot tub was in the mens locker-room and not out in the public but hey... the rest is really nice. read more

Very disappointed in the Lakeville location. I find it very surprising that they don't check people wearing masks as much as they should. Multiple people in the Wait area walking around while not wearing a mask. They need to do a better job of checking people once they enter the gym. I understand at certain hours of the day this may be difficult, but shouldn't be that hard to have somebody patrol around occasionally and check to make sure people are following the mask mandate. Considering not going here anymore as a result. It's just not safe when people don't follow the rules. There should be no exceptions. Taylor, I tried calling to discuss with you. Never got through to anybody. Phone at the front desk just kept ringing. Probably busy there. The time of the day for this is very early in the morning. Right after it's open until about 7 AM. It is people that are walking around while working out in the free weight and weight area. From my understanding, if you are not physically working out on a machine or weights, you should be having a mask on. There are people walking around the whole area without a mask. This morning alone I counted five people out of the 15 or so people there working out. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I've actually seen people at this time of the day walk in, get past the front desk and then proceed to takeoff their mask. Never to be put on again until they pass the front desk again. I just feel like there's got to be a better way of checking upstairs after they enter the gym to make sure everyone is compliant. read more

This is very close to my house and I love it. Give you an Idea, this is a big facility, as you walk in , you have Spa on your left and Cafe to your right. And they are excellent at their trades. Never got my hair and nails done at the spa, but did get massages and it was well worth the cost. The Cafe offers variety of different food and drinks and chips. Everything you will find in the Cafe is healthy, some of them little blah, but healthy. It has indoor and outdoor swimming pool, water slides, hot spa, sauna, wall climbing, tennis, basketball court, Chiropractor, yoga, jumba, and day care(yes!!!). Love it. There are plenty of free time slots for wall climbing and basketball. Once you are here you can easily spend few hours before you know it. Now this is not a cheap facility, and you will know it as soon as you walk in here. Good part of expensive service is it is usually good. Every employee is well trained and well dressed and bad part is that everyone else is in better shape than me :( . But hey, that only motivates me to run that extra mile. Probably the best overall value at any membership level in the Twin Cities metro area. The gym is almost always thoroughly clean; including the locker room and sauna/steam room. It has all the equipment you need. Great indoor and outdoor pool choices. The Cafe is always well stocked with lots of options and always clean. The staff is always dressed professionally and almost all of them project that same professionalism when interacting with others. read more

Love the place due to it's cleanliness, amount of amenities, nice workers, and always updating the equipment and it's structure. The only thing that concerns me is the amount the dues have increased in the last 3 years. For a single membership it has gone up $30 per month in the last 3 years. A proud member for three months now and I am very satisfied. My primary location for now is Lakeville, although I have been to the St. Paul location and plan on checking out the Bloomington locations as well. Overall I think they really have a nice setup and great amenities, must of which are included in your membership. They have plenty of cardio equipment, even with the "New Year's Resolutions" spike, I have never had to wait for a machine. Price- May sound steep at first but with everything included it is worth it. They have everything from yoga to spin classes that are included in the membership. Trainers are expensive. But they offer small group sessions. Tennis Courts are also expensive to rent, I wish they were under $10 and I would definitely rent, it is very disappointing when I've walked over there and they are empty but charging $18 an hour. Pros- The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. For those of you who shower and get ready, they have plenty of blow dryers so you don't need to pack one. Cons- Most of the classes are first come first serve, I wish they had it like the spin classes were you actually sign up. So even if you do show up 15 minutes early you know you have a spot reserved. The parking lot is always full, I feel it like it is my lucky day when I can grab a spot within the first three rows. I also wish you could pay extra to have a reserved locker so you can keep some essentials there instead of hauling them back and forth. read more

It would be very easy to confuse this place with a daycare for teenagers. The amount of parents you are pulling up just to drop off their kids, it's obvious this is a spot to get your kids out of your hair. On the fitness floor upstairs there's groups of kids running around, play fighting and goofing off. Often hard to find equipment to use in the evening because there's kids just hanging out on them or laying on the floor around them. $100 a month to deal with this. It's obvious management doesn't care, years ago, about 6 when Dan was the manager, this would never have happened. read more

I've been a lifetime member for years. Even when I didn't go for a whole year, I kept my membership. I love everything about the facility but not the Lakeville, MN location. The best location I would say is the Savage, MN location, I never had a problem with them or any of the employees. A few weeks ago, I cancelled my membership because I am unemployed and really just can't afford the $73 a month. I already know you can put your account on hold for $10 a month and reactive when you are ready but honestly the sales person I worked with killed that whole idea for me. I cancelled my membership with this sales person name Paul, he's the only Asian sales manager that works at the Lakeville location. What a complete rude, insensitive sales person. Your goal as a sales manager is to try to save your business and retain your members not insult them. I am so happy my membership ends on November 30th and they my sister and my friend cancelled their membership after hearing about my experience. And yes, Paul cancelled their membership. You get business by leads, cold calling and referrals. I'll never refer anyone to the Lakeville lifetime. read more

A couple of updates- The kids program scheduling has been improved dramatically. My children are now in swimming and tennis among other activities here and scheduling has been so simple. The activities desk has all of the answers or knows where to get them. The wifi at the gym has always been spotty, disconnected often and just generally needed improvement. They just launched a new wifi system and it is now functioning perfectly. Very nice for when you're trying to stream some iTunes Radio or pandora. I still haven't given the LifeSpa another shot, although I REALLY want to. I just noticed on one of the signs they have up that they're now offering a bunch of new services and the supervising physician is Dr. Richard Tholen. Dr. Tholen happens to be amazing (see Minneapolis Plastic Surgery). They've also recently shaken up the instructors for many of the classes that they offer. These changes have been very positive for the most part. I honestly can't imagine getting anything from a gym membership that we do not get at Lifetime. read more

Love this gym everyone is very kind and helpful my daughter goes to the daycare and loves it she is shy at first because I stay home with her but they always give her time and talk I wish they had classes all year round for the little ones but she enjoyed the classes in the summer I live all the free classes they offer for adults and the pool and facilities are always well kept and stocked. Won't change gyms ever again. I have been to a few and lifetime beats them all. The only down side is price but you pay for what you get. read more

Very rude service ever. My family went there I know I'm not suppose to have my Mom (she is 70 years old) there since she does not have a membership but we just came back from shopping and we decide to take kids to go swim. The situation was my mom went inside to help kids changed then one of the security person came and talked to us in a very disrespected, rude and loud right in front of other guests, very unprofessional once my mom left she called the building manager to come talking to me and first of all the way she talked to me is quite the same until few minutes later she started talking in a very calm and professional way. We have been a member of lifetime fitness now for a little over one month. This place is really nice and really well run. The personal trainers are here for your best interest and give you exercises that you cannot only do at the club but you can also do at work or when you travel. I was impressed with the sign-up process. It was quick and easy. The person showed us to the club told us all the benefits explained everything that they do to help their member succeed. This is a total wellness package. They have a place for the kids to stay if you have kids under 12. They have a swimming pool and waterslides they have an outdoor swimming area there's also attached tennis area but you have to pay extra for that. Two large basketball courts and a rock climbing wall. This place truly has something for everybody. read more

I love this LifeTime location! I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so busy!!! I usually go around 6:30-7pm on the weekdays, and I noticed it dies down around 8pm. Friday nights are definitely slow, though. They have a pretty awesome outdoor pool (with slides) and a jacuzzi/hot tub outdoors as well. Another pool inside (with slides), another jacuzzi/hot tub and a co-ed sauna. The locker rooms are all on the same floor and extremely clean. Sauna & steam room in the locker rooms as well. Basketball courts are nice. They also have a rock climbing wall which I have yet to try out. These amenities are all on the first floor. Second floor, they have all the cardio equipment, two studios, weights area, pilates room, yoga room, etc. Honestly, this location is my favorite so far. But I've only been to three total (the two Bloomington locations). Staff is pretty friendly. I've been to a couple of the Zumba classes and they are amazing. Love the Zumba classes. I have to try the other classes but they always look pretty fun. read more

This is one of the nicer Life Times I've been too. They do a great job with the entire experience from the pleasant front desk staff to the clean locker rooms. The facility is constantly being clean and you'll be hard pressed to find any garbage or towels laying around. The steam room is a wonderful stress reliever. Some of the weight machines are showing their age and getting beat up. They recently updated a ton of their cardio machines which is nice to see. The basketball courts are usually open during the week but get busy when school is out or holidays. The Life Time Cafe has delicious smoothies at a premium price. Make sure you get a punch card! The crowd is everything from the casual walker to the muscle heads along with all ages. Highly recommend this facility for those looking for a great variety of weight machines, cardio equipment, and classes. read more

From a swimmer's perspective, as I'm writing this, I'm looking forward to when they open their outdoor pool. The facilities are nice/new construction. The locker room has plenty of stalls; although, like any other Lifetime, you might end up changing on top of another person. The showers are a bit weird and awkward, yet serviceable. The dry-off area seems to be an afterthought and, if you use it, you'll regularly be in the way of other people. The outdoor pool is sufficient, with little frills and no flags. Count your strokes if you're backstroking. My only gripe is that the lap pool, leisure pool, and slide pool are connected. So, if a child shits/pees in the leisure pool all the pools are closed. Avoid the far left lane, that I'd call #1, as it's used for children's swimming tests and you'll regularly be asked to vacate. read more

I am a big fan of Life Time Fitness (yet understand that I am not currently a member). My husband and I were members of the Eagan location in the late 90's, and we were members of the Lakeville location from shortly after their grand opening until early 2014. The ONLY reason we left was because I am now traveling frequently for business and we recently bought a cabin in northern Minnesota. Thus, I just can't get to LTF often enough to justify the expense. And LTF is not cheap, especially if you want to hire a personal trainer (I highly recommend Greg M). But, you get what you pay for... Free group classes, fantastic locker rooms and an amazing gym floor with equipment in excellent condition. Further, the Lakeville location has a great indoor pool as well as outdoor pool, and great hot tubs... It's a great place to take the kids in the summer. To top it off, there are fantastic summer camp programs available for kids (my kids attended several of the camp programs when they were younger), and there is a very nice child care area for kids to play in while you work out. read more

It says nothing about it on their website. We have been members at Lifetime for just shy of 3 years now. Having moved from California and working out at a ymca that partnered with our city this gym feels very luxurious and upscale. We have always had no problem getting a machine, getting into a class, finding space to workout, etc. Due to the changes because of the pandemic, I'm loving the group fitness reservation system. Prior to the pandemic there were days I would have to get to class 30 minutes before class to get a decent spot. Now I know a week in advance exactly where I'm going to be and I can arrive five minutes before class begins. It's lovely. Does it stink wearing a mask to workout? Yes! Is it a price I'm willing to pay to be able to go to the gym? Yes! I look forward to the day when masks are no longer required and all of the facilities are open again. We are definitely missing the sauna and steam room, especially this time of year. I think the staff here have been doing a great job upholding the state mandated rules. It makes me sad to see people treating the staff poorly because they are enforcing rules that they have no choice but to enforce if they want the gym to be open. Kudos to the Lifetime staff for adapting to the ever changing rules and restrictions that have been put in place by the governor. Lifetime has always felt like an extension of my home as that's how the staff makes me feel. Thankfully that hasn't changed during the pandemic. They do a good job of keeping the place clean, and they have a wide variety of activities to do even if you don't like using the machines (tennis, basketball, swimming, etc.). It can get pretty packed at times, but that's probably a better sign of what they offer. A little pricey but it is definitely worth it in the winter when you don't have many outdoor/DIY options. read more

We've been members here for a few years now and we really enjoy all they have to offer even though we probably don't utilize half of it. The club is generally very clean and well maintained, the staff friendly to all those checking in. In summer we enjoy the outdoor pool; my kids can go nuts in the water while I work out inside the air conditioning. With the mention of children, I get charged more for my twelve year old. The apparent reasoning? He can go work out upstairs on the machines and stuff. Seriously? He's 12! How many twelve year olds do you know that pump iron? Admittedly, I've seen younger kids working out (they looked older than twelve). That lasted maybe twice. They are too old for the "daycare" and not much else is offered that isn't an additional fee such as tennis lessons and the like. The pool isn't staffed all hours so that's not an option either. For these reasons, more often than not, my kids don't go with to the club. The better (adult) highlights to Lifetime is it being open 24 hours. Yes, I do sometimes get there at 2 in the AM. It is mostly empty and wonderful. Also, there are various "clubs" such as Run Club, Bicycling Club, and others. This club is not cheap. Then I called Dan, apparently the manager-twice & no response ?! so I called corporate- no follow up there either... I did get the pitch to not cancel when I walked in a tried to cancel to put it on hold- for a fee.
