Go to LA fitness. Please be smart. I dont suggest lifetime as a single person, the kids are everywhere in the outdoor pool, on the basketball court (which if you hoop is very very low quality on a day to day basis). It is more of a place to extract extra dollars for child care. The hours are not as good as they seem, because they have several full weekdays and entire weekends closed annually. The basketball league is very bad. It was so unorganized that many gamedays would be skipped, or have players with unpaid fees walking on for the whole game. Also they have surprisingly very little duplicates of crucial equipment, such as rear delt fly or bench, but a massive unused and waste overload of treadmills or spinning. There is virtually zero use of the technology add ons. There are some free classes that I would suggest to take advantage of, such as yoga, but overall they are mainly cancelled with only the paid ones remaining for child care. Overall, this is a place for highway robbery. read more

Life Time Athletic is as upscale and luxurious as a gym can get. It encompasses all of the things you would want in a gym and so much more!! Their lockers conveniently have a number lock that you can choose the number for and lock your stuff without bringing your own lock each time. They have fitness machines, weights, towels, fitness classes, basketball, tennis, racquetball, squash, a rock climbing wall, babysitting, a SPA and a babysitting area. They also have an indoor and an outdoor pool... in which their outdoor summer pool is so epic it has 2 slides like a water park!! This place definitely has the vibe of a resort!! If I lived in Toronto I would gladly invest in a Life Time Athletic membership! My reason for saying that is Joe, one of their personal trainers. Joe's passion for fitness and his clients is inspiring. He speaks of his fellow coworkers and his clients like his family. You can get individual personal training classes or take group fitness classes with Joe. Be ready to sweat!! He has an awesome playlist to keep those classes pumped. If you sign up for some individual personal training with him he will weight you and measure you weekly to show you results. And he will definitely address your eating habits and nutrition if you aren't getting results. He will definitely do his best to help you as long as you put in the effort too. It is once in a blue moon that I find myself so inspired. I have the utmost respect for Joe. Even weeks after I returned to the states I find myself still inspired by Joe's advice on fitness and nutritional wellness. I have made realistic adjustments to my lifestyle and I have never been happier and more energetic. I even followed a few of Joe's recipes and before this I never knew healthy food could still be quick and so delicious. I was going through a phase where my life felt so stagnant and unhappy with myself and Joe really helped jump start my spirit. Whether or not our paths will cross again in the future, I will always be grateful for his defining influence in my life. This fitness club is definitely aimed towards the upper echelons of the suburbans in Vaughan. Lifetime has a reputation for luxurious experience in fitness and this club definitely satisfies that regard. When you first walk in the facility it feels like mini mall stocked with a salon, cafe, and offices that feel like you're in a banking branch. First floor also has an indoor poor and outdoor pool connected to it which is totally awesome. The change rooms are exceptional and tremendously luxurious with towels available everywhere, mouthwash, razors, shaving gel, and q tips all ready for usage. The showers are beautifully built and the hot tub & sauna are the highest of quality. The next two floors are designed especially for what Lifetime is for; fitness. The 2nd floor is your basic commercial fitness area stocked with a vast amount of cardio equipment and a huge area for TRX, and stretching. The rest of the area is simple and very spaced out; you'll notice a lot of empty space in this gym. The floor also consists of a yoga/Pilates studio, a basketball court and a soccer field. The third floor is what makes this facility unique. The turf goes on for days and has a bunch of a equipment to diversify your workouts. Tires, battle ropes, kettlebells, weight sleds, you name it, it was there. Boxing/mma area, powerlifting area with deadlift platforms and self propelled treadmills. Overall, it's a 5+ star experience but the price does not justify the commitment towards the club. $160/month was the contract that was offered to me was just way too much to spend on for a gym. Also, other people were offered lower prices so the sales teams have their tactics to reel you in. I joined for the classes. Now the classes are over booked and there are too many people per class. Doesn't matter if you register early there are drop ins and no limitation to how many people. It's gross when asked to share the treadmill and equipment so others can join in. Not what I expected from a Lifetime gym at $200/month. Too many health risks. read more

Overall customer service at the Woodbridge, Ontario location is really bad. Employees have no manners when asked simple questions. Management is doing a really bad job holding employees to even a basic level of service. Training is useless as employees can do whatever they feel like. The pool lifeguards miss checking the full pool and if there are 2 life guards on at the same time they will just talk to each other for hours at a time and not do their jobs especially when watching the side whirlpool. Also when I ask for towels to be there they laugh it off. They say they have towel service but they don't have enough towels for so many different times of the day. The change room are so dirty I feel like i am going to get some kind of a disease there. Employees do not say thank you. Employees don't say hi even when I say hi. I've commented to management about many basic services and they are getting worst instead of getting better. Listen up managers of Woodbridge location: Treat people the way you would want to be treated. I will comment again so you can see if any progress in basic customer service. read more

I cannot say enough about the facilities in this gym, their classes, the ambiance. It's very clean, and overall great staff. I love the overall setup, the restaurant and the salon. My 4 year old daughter enjoyed doing her swimming lessons- the teachers were young and connected really well with the kids. They had great programs for ages 3 and up however, their programs for the littlest one where purely that- child minding. It would have been a perfect fit for me if they had reading and circle time for the toddlers. I left and would consider going back if they can up their programs for the toddlers. read more

Beautiful club! Confused ,disorganized,uninformed, flustered and poorly trained staff. No visible management at all and when asked, they cannot name a general manager. This lack of direction is affecting the club, there is nobody to ask a question when a problem arises. This is so very annoying, you are speaking to numerous members for an answer that is not even the right one! This is a diamond club and for the amount of money paid it needs to step it up. Filthy family bathrooms with overflowing garbages.Pool staff (lifeguards) are rude and aggressive and actually look like they hate their job! Well,good news the summer is almost over ! yay for them and especially us! Cafeteria staff that do not even post specials you have to ask them! Facilities might look "fancy" but these scammers will charge you even for breathing. When I specifically asked to sign up for a month membership only, they charged me an initiation fee ($150) separately from the membership fee (%150+tax) so you end up paying more than $300 for JUST ONE MONTH. After using it for one month, these scammers kept charging me for a month to month commitment membership which is $130+tax for a whole year. I asked for my cancellation by phone but they ask you to be physically there to sign and cancel. Based on other reviews, people are getting problems while trying to get a refund, as they make excuses for everything so you keep paying hundreds of dollars for a gym you don't use anymore. read more

This is my second time joining. I will admit they had problems before, let's say about a year ago when I quit. Having said that, I gave them a second chance because of Tyronne Ford taking the time to address my concerns and I have not been disappointed. The club has really changed. The change rooms and showers are clean and well stocked again. There are towels readily available both inside and outside. Staff is visible, ready to help, and extremely friendly. I have not tried the Life Spa again so I can't comment on that yet but if the rest of my experience is any indication of the level of service excellence provided by this club I am sure I won't be disappointed. read more

The worst was this summer when they were letting in people to the outdoor pool for a fee( non members) , therefore the pool was a zoo most of the time . My family and I have been members at this gym for over a year now. I love the group fitness classes and most of their instructors are pretty great. The reason for giving 3 stars and not 5 is because I had two really bad experiences at the lifetime spa. The receptionist was unqualified to simply add two numbers or answer simple questions. The lady who did my hair gave me one quote when I went for a consultation and then added another $90 on my bill not to mention she completely burned my hair!!! I have been to many salons and no one has ever damaged my hair like this before. I also requested that the manager contact me and never heard from them :/ The gym and facilities are great but I was extremely disappointed with the salon and lack of customer service. read more

Today we had celebrated my son's 5th birthday party at Life Time Athletic on 407 and Weston road . I have booked the event a month ago and it was scheduled to run from 230 pm to 530 pm. We booked 1 hour party room (for food ,followed by dessert )and 2 hours for the pool. All my guest were invited to come at 215 so that we don't waste any time . Once the majority arrived , we were escorted to the room . We set up the decorations, and proceeded to have food . For the kids the pizza and juice boxes was there when we arrived , for the adults we had to order from their cafe . The order was placed a week before the event and we were having wraps and salads . The wraps arrived late- at 250pm - (party started at 230), the salads did not arrive until 3pm - but had no dressing -which took staff another 10 minutes to bring . So, at 310 we finally had all the food- but had to leave the room at 330pm . My guest stuffed themselves with wraps and by the time salads and dressing arrived it was too late for anyone to enjoy them since we needed to proceed to the cake. I advised the party hosts that we are not eating the salads and they can take them back . We then proceeded to have cake - but they couldn't find the knife , then when we went to have coffee -it was not delivered . We had to wait for coffee , and tea did not arrive until 330pm- the time we had to vacate the room. At the time that I was cutting the cake , the manager of the cafe arrived to try and fight me over the salads that they screwed up , I advised him that I was at the party to enjoy my guests and not have a fight with him . He was freaking out about me using the knife to cut my cake , to which I advised him that I was given the option by staff to either cut it myself or have them cut it. He was sooo rude and hostile it's unbelievable. At the end of the event they said he offered to discount one out of the 3 salads - I told him that we did not receive the salads in time and 2 of them were completely untouched . He was arguing with me over 30$ as if it was my fault he fucked up . This whole situation could have been handled differently by the manager of the caffe , I believe his name was qevin or something- what a terrible person to be in charge and talk to customers . What a shame that this facility employs such rude people . Instead of owning up to his mistake and oversight, he tried to make me feel guilty that they did not deliver the food in time . His employee that was helping out all day was so ashamed of him , she realized he screwed up but could not say anything . When we finally agreed that he is not charging me for 2 salads , he would not show me what he was charging me and insisted I hand over my payment card. At that point I did not trust him as to what charge he is putting through so that was not pleasant at all . Why are you making your guests feel like that ? I payed $1000 for 3 hours of party, you guys screw up and not an apology , nothing . I feel terrible for the girl that was helping us - she was wonderful and I tried to tip her but she felt so embarrassed so she didn't take the money . I apologized to her and tried to make her understand that it was not her fault , it was the kitchen that screwed up . I thanked her and left . I feel terrible about the girl she did nothing wrong . A LIFETIME OF HEADACHES is all you'll really get from here. They will lie, overcharge you and treat you VERY POORLY over and over again(that is after they sign you up first). If you think that they seem nice at first and that they will continue to do things for you to keep you happy, think again, they only work for themselves; forget you even have customer rights. ALSO READ THE CONTRACT before you sign it. It's a joke (if you sue them, you are signing that you will pay for Life Time's court fees; it's like them grabbing your hands and punching you in your face with your own fists) and ON TOP, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AND MAKE YOU DO THINGS THAT ARE NOT in the contract! SO BE CAREFUL! Know what is in the contract that way when they tell you, "you can't enter until you pay these fees or do this, or just charge you without telling you.." don't listen to them. They make up their own fees and rules that ARE NOT part of the contract, which is against the law and the company can get into trouble, so file a report with BBB, competition Bureau and Consumer Protection if you are having problems with them. My story: They wouldn't let me in with membership in good standing ( member since Jan 2017) because they wanted me to PAY MORE? After yelling at me in front of my guest, the only thing I could do was leave and contact the manager who then decided to suspended my membership due to what the person who yelled at me told her. After explaining to her that none of the things she was saying was in the contract, she refunded me $16 without me agreeing to it as a solution! I lost LT BUCKS worth more than that due to all of this! I'm obviously now no longer a member due to the this treatment. They pretty much kicked me out because I stood up for my rights to follow what was in the contract. On top they lied to me when I first signed up and said there was no student discount or membership. Guess what, after a year of full membership while being a student, I find out that there IS A STUDENT MEMBERSHIP. It gets even worst; they lose my contract and threatened to charge me more for what I already paid! (because of their own mistakes, they threaten me instead of apologizing and trying to make it right? I've been a member for over 2 years and would have continued to be a member if it wasn't for this treatment, I also brought two other members to join and was bringing my third when this happened) now they are ignoring my emails asking for a proper solution or the regional managers contact which they refuse to give. I'm filing a complaint with the Competition Bureau and Consumer Protection, they still don't care and don't reply. If the company has to pay fines it won't be coming out of the local managers' pockets so I guess they don't care about anything but their income. You think for the amount of money people are paying that the customers would get at least a little bit of respect and honesty, but not even. I don't know how such a nice place can be ran so poorly by what seems to be the most incompetent people on this planet. Truly a waste of good space and potential gone down the drain. Almost every single complaint is about management, whether here or in the USA. IT seems to be the COMPANY IMAGE that they are proud of! Joined Lifetime Athletic under recommendation from a friend. Planned to go there with my kids to the pool and do group classes. Membership is $129.00 month for single person and an extra $100 for second adult. Kids, regardless of age are $40/month. I was really excited about going to this club, as it is a brand spanking new facility which looked so promising from the outside. Thank God this club gives you 14 day money back guarantee period, because as I started to go there, I began to realize that this place is not what I have expected. I am not going to mention all the positives in this post, because a lot of reviews here do go over the positives. I don't want to repeat. However I will outline the negatives, which ultimately, pushed me to cancel my membership. 1. The family change room is not cleaned as often as it should be. I saw towels, personal hygiene items and.....hair balls (yuk!) in the showers. When I saw the hairball in the shower, I was so grossed out. This was a deal breaker for me, to be honest. 2. Pool staff are not all aware of the policies regarding pool and equipment use. For example, some lifeguards would tell me that my kids are not allowed to use the hot tub, others would say they are as long as they are supervised, and some said that they could use the hot tub as long as they are over the age of 11. I checked the policies on their website, and indeed, saw that children must be supervised by an adult while in the hot tub and must be over the age of 12. HUH? So I gotta supervise my 14 year old in the hot tub? 3. Waterslide does not work. Apparently it is broken (what??? You just opened up this month, how can you have a broken water slide????!!!) 4. Hot tubs are often closed and the splash-mushroom thing for the kids is rarely turned on. 5. Kids area: children are not allowed to play basketball in the kid gym unless the activity is run by a staff member. I was told that my kid could play anytime, so I was really disappointed when my kid told me that he asked to play basketball and was told he wasn't allowed. 6. Dry sauna is temperature controlled and you cannot make it hotter. I think its at 160F which is kinda low for a dry sauna. If you are Eastern European and love HOT HOT HOT saunas, this one is a joke. 7. Steam room has so much eucalyptus it burns out your eyes. I came out with blood shot eyes after 5 minutes. The motor in the male steam room makes a lot of noise when releasing the steam. 8. No mirrors in the yoga room. Which is kinda strange...how are you supposed to see your shape? I cannot complain about anything else because I haven't explored it further. Checked the policy regarding cancellation on the website and saw that a written request must be signed at the gym. Approached my Sales Person and asked him to cancel, outlining my concerns. He said that I should send him an e-mail because there were no cancellation forms available at that time. I asked him if he was SURE this is the proper procedure, because, as per their policy, cancellation requests cannot be sent by email. No No, he said, that should be fine. So that day I send him my request and got no confirmation. Send him a few texts asking him for confirmation and got "Don't worry I've processed it" SMS. Checked my account and saw that they charged me for the month of June ($237). I really hope they will refund my May and now...my June fees. read more

LifeTime fitness has no respect for their employees and the managers are very sloppy and juvenile. The managers in the Operations Department expect employees to do all the work including theirs and are hard to communicate with. Being a staff member is not rewarding at all because management makes it hard for them to enjoy work. Management is also not understanding to employees availability nor do they care if you have had a family emergency or any other issue in your life, The facility is well kept except for the locker rooms which smell bad and pose as a sanitary issue. They should have health inspections because i have found bugs in the facility and a lot of dirt and grime that is turning into mold. I've been to a few other gyms but this place is by far the best. The group classes are my favourite and the instructors are amazing. The staff members from the managers to the cleaning staff are all extremely friendly and very helpful. My kids also love the children's centre and enjoy all the different activities they offer. Not even if I was a multi millionaire would I go to this gym. The value just isn't there and the hefty price tag doesn't show value to me at all. Upon going in for a trial and speaking to the sales person, I felt pushed into purchasing and not even 2 minutes into our tour members were coming up to the same sales person with us complaining that the lockers wouldn't work as they have some fancy locks attached to the lockers already. (In my opinion that shouldn't justify the price tag on a gym). Also what's with classes being an extra cost and no classes on weekends?? Even LA Fitness can offer that. I was forced to cancel my membership as Anisha the rude sales agent turned assistant to Mindy (member service manager) was rude to me about me being disabled. I am recovering from a vehicle accident and other than me walking with a slight limp at times when my lower back or hip gets aggravated, there is no obvious signs I have a disability. I had difficulties going into the pool where they have their aquafit classes. It is strange they have to walk down steps only in the area where people who don't need it can walk in. However, where it is needed for those looking to do aquafit, they either have to use the ramp/rail to hoist themselves in/out of the pool or walk underneath the lane separation partition. All that just to gain access to aquafit leisure pool as it is known area. There is a chair device on the other side of a deep pool area that can lift others in the pool. However, the aquafit classes are not held in that pool. I would be the only one sitting on this chair hoist to get in the pool while others steer. They have no proper process in place to assist anyone with a disability. In fact, they do this on purpose I would say to discourage anyone with a disability from using their facility as I can tell they mainly cater to a specific type of people as they are selling a lifestyle, not a health club. I was told by Mindy that she cannot accommodate me just one person at the risk of inconveniencing their other 3000 guest who needs no special accommodation. I made several attempts and submit reviews which mostly went unnoticed. I spoke to their GM Austin before he was fired and several staff members. After several attempts to reach their acting GM, Tyler and had to mention the word legal in which I still didn't hear from him. The head office called me and said they would get back to me in a week as their legal team would review my concerns and apologized that the situation was not handled properly. I have yet to hear back from anyone. I am looking to file a human rights claim as no one should ever have to be told they are not important enough to participate in improving their health and their life. Me coming from a place of trying to find hope to overcome the pains and injuries from my vehicle accident. Then to have this group of people who due to their inability to relate to a person with health related issues just broke my spirit, for me it is truly sad. And... It is hard to forget that someone told me due to my health, I should go away without really trying to assist me. Once you enter the door to sign up, you can feel the warmth. Once your 14 days cooling off period is passed, you will then get to see they don't care about you, it is on to get the next person to sign up. I really wish I could give this place 0 stars out of 5 because they gave me nothing but headaches from the very beginning. Once they take your money they don't give a damn about anything. The on-boarding session was a complete joke with trainers quitting and giving no notice, to saying they are scheduling you in for a session and then you get there and your not scheduled, to hidden fees and complete lack of communication in every sense. They don't answer phones or emails, the General Manager is M.I.A, AND even after I cancelled my membership I am STILL getting charges on my credit card. I was a member of the Health club for a while but quit because the main emphasis appear to be on families with children and families without children (or grown up children) do not matter. The pool is occupied with children's lessons at the prime time on both Saturdays and Sundays at the prime time, from 9 am to the late afternoon. This would be the most convenient time for working adults to attend pool. Many years ago they used to have aqua fit classes on weekends for adults. Now they have them at ungodly time of 7 am.
