"NO SPIN." CANCELED just announce core pilates equipment coming called GTX. Just joined a month ago and boom this change. Upset I was "Told don't bother writing a letter to corporate." They need this extra earnings coming to stay in business." New class Supposed to be signature membership, now saying big increase $$$ in classes. Starts in May! Signature for a trial period than $$$. GTX format with a new name! Basically, Someone yelling at you on a pilates machine with music. Still better than competition, but you are really paying for it and soon it will just like them. SPIN is the only real core cardio that all ages can do and they cancel it. Poor quality "healthy food" cheese wiz on stale chips. 5 day old broiled chicken on premade salad from days before. Food $$$ & no outside food or drink allowed. Shakes taste a 5 on a scale of 1-10. After taste that keeps you from finishing the whole shake. Each shake $11- $15 Staff is nice, but limited in helping you. Price is set. Memberships very complicated. There really is no "you can go to any gym if you work aboard." each gym has specific benefits. If it doesn't match up boom not allowed. For example: NY has 14 gyms that do not allow you to go. Period! Membership offers a "all gyms" with hike up in $$$. So you pay extra for nothing. Look on line and it shows you how few gyms are interchangeable. Hot tubs need updating. Water is low so it hits you below chest with only 3 jets in the entire tub aimed at your back. Just like a motel would have. read more

I've been coming here for almost two years, the coaches are AMAZING! Gina, Bryan, Micheal have great classes and personal sessions! The kids area is really a dream- it's like DZ discovery zone for all my millennial friends! Kids rock climbing and swim is always a hit. I re-joined after a year, not the same. No one cares about you after you join. Went to the pool to swim and have dinner the other evening. Website says the outdoor food is open till 7. We got there at 5, swan till 6 and went to get food for the family. They advised us they were closing early because they were not busy enough. Let alone they had a line of people wanting food in which they were turning away due to closing early. So no more family evening swim and dinner. Then I called the front desk and asked for a manager to see why this was ok, they said there was no manager on duty?? Really?? read more

As parents, we entrust these Summer camps with our most precious possessions: our children. We're not only paying over $300 a week, but we also deserve to feel confident that they will be taken care of! Today, I received a call informing me that my son, who had surgery three weeks ago, was attacked by another child and was hit directly where he had just gotten stitches. No parent wants to get a call like that, and we certainly won't take it lightly - we will demand answers. I was told by staff that this particular child has displayed "anger issues." I'm not sure if that was their justification, but this only led me to question why this child was still allowed to attend an establishment where we are all paying to have our kids taken care of. If this child does have issues, they shouldn't be in this type of setting and should instead be in a less stimulating environment. The situation was then downplayed by the GM, despite two other staff members informing me of the same story my son gave me. The GM even went as far as telling me that he was more worried about how " I entered his place of business, and his staff" If I don't hit my son, what makes it okay for anyone else to put their hands on him. To the parents of the child involved, I strongly suggest that you get him help, as this behavior can lead to legal repercussions in the future, and as he grows up, he will encounter someone who won't put up with his bursts of "anger issues". read more

* Cafe specifically * Being that this is a lower volume location, you would assume the employees would be more welcoming and attentive to their guests. I was the only customer in the cafe at the time and was completely ignored. Was going to leave without my purchase but wanted to see how long it would be until the employee standing at the drink coolers would notice to check me out since I was standing at the register waiting. It wasn't until another customer walked in that this employee decided to come back behind the counter to help the new customer out then finally checked me out. Can't imagine how long a food or shake order would take when purchasing an energy drink took longer than expected. Money not well spent, my suggestion is to stop at Racetrac before coming here. Being a member at this gym, you pay for the convenience of things but this was definitely not it. read more

This gym is really nice. However it is not the most convenient for me with my daughter being not old enough to do things but tools for the small kids gym. Which is completely frustrating as she is not ready to work out with me yet. Besides that it seems that they're not up completely full since Covid. They do not require masks and it's well kept and a great overall environment. Membership is not as expensive as you think. Might as well try it out they have a seven day cancel policy. I've been going here for about 2 years. The amenities are nice and the staff is decently friendly. I feel that for the price, I would expect a more generous guest policy but you're only allowed 2 per month. Also, it seems the staff is a bit lackadaisical when it comes to mask-wearing. The upstairs fitness center has a slew of cardio machines from treadmills to stairmasters. They also have plenty of weights and weight machines. They used to have free classes pre-COVID which were fun to do but they no longer have those. They have a couple of basketball courts and a couple squash courts which are nice as well. I normally just use the pool and the fitness center which are up to par with what I need. I like the plethora of towels around. Overall, a decent gym but a bit too pricey for my tastes. read more

It doesn't get much better than this, when it comes to that dream gym that will keep you coming way past the weight loss/healthy lifestyle resolution average "quitting time". This gym is a community where you find support, camaraderie, state of the art equipment and a staff that has the expertise and tools to help. This place is worth every penny. One will have to go to other gyms around town to appreciate what it has to offer. In the years I've been coming, I have seen many people transform not only physically but even personality-wise.. this is where their lives take a dramatic turn for the better.. the confidence they gain.. not to mention the friendships that develop in this place! Also, the café has really good healthy meal choices that are reasonably priced. It's very common to see members pulling in to pick up dinner for their families :-) The instructors are amazing! and there are plenty of classes at various times of the day. I recently toured this gym and it's very nice, but the money they charge doesn't justify what you get in my opinion. They are 3 times the price of LA Fitness and Gold's Gyms. If you care for more than working out, this is a lovely place to socialize, have lunch, get your nails done, etc. However, you can still enjoy the cafe and salon without being a member. If you don't care for the kids club feature, I found there's not much to entice someone like me to spend the extra money. I already live in a community with a resort style pool and Lifetime charges an extra fee for using their pool amenities outside. They no longer offer free guest passes to try the club. You have to pay with credit card then cancel for a 7 day trial. read more

I came here as a guest. This was a fantastic place. It's is very well kept. The gym facilities were adequate. It was very roomy which made working out during a pandemic comfortable. My only complaint is that the locker room and associated facilities seemed dated, but that is a small complaint. I would recommend this gym for anyone on the fence. I've been going here since they reopened during COVID. I decided recently that it wasn't worth the price so I switched to another gym. When I went in to cancel my membership they told me I wouldn't be charged after that month - of course. They still charged me for the next month and when I called to get it refunded they told me they charged me because the 30 days went into the next month. That is absolutely crazy!! It makes no sense to me why I would want to cancel my membership to be charged again. read more

This facility is just like any other Lifetime Fitness. It's huge, has all the equipment, pools, trainers, camps, etc. It's a mega club. My review is more based towards the kids aspect of the gym. I had 2 kids in the summer camp recently and it seemed more like a babysitting service than an actual summer camp. Everyday when I picked them up it seemed like they didn't really do much. On to the swim lessons. They have decent instructors (most college students), but scheduling is a nightmare. We actually showed up for our last class and the instructor didn't show up. Driving 30 minutes each way makes this pretty inconvenient and disappointing. I called at least 3 times to reschedule and even a month later no one has called me back to fix this. I pretty much gave up. If you want a place to work out and do everything, this might be it, but expect to have mediocre customer service. read more

The General Manager Pat Fricano at the Woodstock, GA gym is the absolute best! He is super friendly and helpful. He speaks to everyone and has learned their names. You will find Pat cleaning the place alongside the crew which you don't normally see. He sets expectations and leads by example. Based on my experience at the cafe today! Mahi mahi tacos from the menu! Delicious! Avocado, red onion, and cilantro-ginger slaw in corn tortilla! 410 calories ,24g protein!, 34g Carbs, 20g fat, and 9g fiber! You can't order anything better for 20 minutes driving distance in any direction. Almond butter shake. You gotta try this. Tastes like fall is here and it is winning! Allman milk, organic banana, almond butter, cinnamon, Chia seeds and chocolate grass fed way protein. 400 cal, 25g protein, 30g carbs, 23g fat, 8g fiber. Lifetime delivers in quality, in terms of experienced staff, delicious nutritious food, and a state of the art facility that is clean for you to work out in. I would change the cafe to be more work friendly. Need more outlets, and better internet connection. The wifi is poor. I can deal with that for now because they deliver in so many other areas. I will amend this review in the near future. 10/13/2016 update Got a great swim in today. Back at the cafe to try some more of the new menu items. Beef and broccoli bowl I can't make this stuff up. When I try items from the menu at Lifetime I am astonished that they are not packed all the time from the surrounding community. I would have licked the plate if I was not on public, the beef and broccoli was so good. Grass fed beef, broccoli, brown rice, garbanzo beans, almonds, carrot, cauliflower rice and red onion with Chinese mustard, garnished with cilantro and green onion. This menu item also has the most fiber of any dish and leads in protein with 35 g, for those of you who care about calories: 550, carbs 48 g, and 25 g Fat. I also ordered another shake today, I couldn't get enough of the almond butter shake. I did one change this time though and instead of grass fed whey protein I did vegan Max Protein. You can't get any better than the food quality at lifetime. That's incredible for a gym to get it right! Most restaurants can't get it right. Been coming here on and off for about 7-8 years on the family plan with my parents. I used to love coming here everyday. I went of to college and they gladly paused my account until I returned (whether it be for a weekend, a week or winter break). I definitely think the price is worth it for all that you get. Just not looking forward to the cancellation on my 23 birthday. If I am still in Woodstock next year I will keep my membership. I love Lifetime Fitness, the going joke is its a Country Club without Golf! However it has everything else I could hope to imagine! I love it here, it's so relaxing and well worth the drive to get there. Let's be honest I would drive for a good piece of cake, so this isn't too far outside of my comfort zone! There's a reason why they have so many negative reviews on here. I went to cancel a month to month membership because I was moving and I wasn't attending the gym but twice a month due to the move and work. The manager offered to transfer me to a location closer to where I lived but still much farther than I wanted to drive. I said I would try it once. So, instead of giving me a one-day pass or something like that, he transferred my membership to the other location with the new monthly cost of $159, $80/month more than I had been paying. Yes, you read that right. The Smyrna location is $159 a month. A sales person (I presume) at the Woodstock location told me twice with one of those "hands-in-the-air dazzle" (like in Vegas or Broadway) that it was because they had a special access third floor with alcoholic beverages on the roof. Sounds more like the famous swimming pool on the roof in high school. Bogus. It's a basketball gym with an Astro turf patio about the size of your living room. I spoke with the Woodstock manager the very next day after visiting the Smyrna "Diamond Club" that very evening to try and decide ASAP. I said I'd rather just continue with the Woodstock location at $79 a month until the end of the membership since I'm not going much anyway but still could once or twice during the move. He said he could possibly give me six or seven weeks of free access to the Smyrna gym if I stayed a gym member but I asked him to cancel the membership at the Woodstock location. I told him I did not want to join the "Diamond Club" (which sounds like a strip club at best). He said that was fine but that I could continue using the diamond club till the end of the membership since it was closer to where I was moving, and he processed the cancellation immediately. Overall the tone in person and via email was friendly but it's the lack of follow through and lying that deserves the poor review. Want to know what happened when I originally joined the gym? They sell you these soon-to-expire lifetime bucks that are good for classes and other kinds of things in the gym. They match the money you put up front so you can get $50 in free classes if you also spend $50 of your own money on the spot. The sales person told me for several weeks that the reason why my account showed a $10 balance was because her manager had tied up the funds, committing them to classes because it looks better in the system (and upper management I'm sure). We had to fix this by me by downloading the Life Time Fitness app to my smart phone. That never worked. So they finally got me a manager after several weeks of trying with the sales rep who is supposed to "take care of your experience" there. With so much back and forth, I ended up not having much time to explore my options. So, I signed up for one of those advanced metabolic tests before the expiration date. Then tried to schedule a time for the test. They ignored me. Then said my points were expired. I had to talk to another manager who acted like he was doing me a favor. Who pays his bills? We do. Not anymore. Run. Don't join this gym. I'm happy to name names if anyone asks. I'm still trying to get my account credited for the overcharge of them switching my billing plan without my approval. I decided to let the "Life Time" Bucks go, which were never really lifetime anyway. I'm disgusted with the everyone but the front desk there. At least they were respectful and polite but how hard is it to check people in. If you want to be raped financially, go to this gym. Trainers start around $90/hour. I will consider revising my review to two stars if they follow through and refund me the last month's charges and apologize. Buyer beware!!! read more

If I could select zero stars I would!! We have been with lifetime for over five years, at first the service was amazing and as the years went on service dropped significantly. My parents moved to Woodstock changing their fantastic location in Alpharetta to Woodstock lifetime. My parents are elderly and my mother has knee pain limiting her walking, so she uses the pool to get her daily exercise in. Well she cannot walk all the way to the women's locker room so she has been using the family room since they started going to lifetime. Now they're telling her that she needs to use the women's locker room and not the family room which is significantly closer to the pool. The general manager Todd tells my mom that she can't use the family room anymore, when my mom expressed that she cannot walk to the locker room. He was very rude to her and told her she has to use the locker room or she has to go to another fitness center. I have never heard of such a thing before. Usually businesses accommodate the needs of the customers specially the elderly and this place very rudely tells my mom to go somewhere else..like she didn't matter. If it was your own mom would you do the same thing? I don't think so! Very insensitive, rude, no empathy at all. People like you should not be managers..very sad that this location has hired a manager like you! read more

Far superior to any gym we have joined. We have been members at 24 hour fitness and One Life Fitness, they cant even compare to what Life Time offers. From the many scheduled classes, to the pools, the trainers, the well appointed locker rooms, the cafe, salon, rock climbing, basketball.....everything is thought of. Yes, it's pricey. I pay $80 for myself and for my kiddo ($10 for childcare monthly). But, I generally dislike gyms and have kept (and regularly use) a membership here for over a year. This is a place you want to be, which is exactly what you want in a gym. Not to mention, the added amenities make the extra cost worth it for us. My kid loves the rock climbing wall and the indoor pool, both of which we use weekly. Finding a gym with a pool that has reasonable open swim hours has single-handedly led us to Life Time. Other amazing amenities include, two indoor lap pools (one heated), an open swim area open 10-8 (also heated), outdoor open swim and lap pools, complimentary towels, an indoor and outdoor cafe that mirrors an upscale Panera, and an excellent kids area with play structure and basketball court. They keep babies separate from the other kids, and take babies by appointment so that they are adequately staffed. Also, for the year plus that I have been going, the childcare staff has remained pretty consistent. Only wish the childcare did not have iPads and that the back area with the climbing structure and basketball court would be open more often, as they close this area when the childcare is slower and staff is limited. However, I really appreciate that the childcare doesn't close midday as many other gyms do. Classes are decent but there aren't a lot offered, so expect to be in a packed room. I've taken yoga, barre, cycle, and a few general group fitness classes, and have found them satisfying. The yoga studio is AMAZING! You can regularly find the GM of the gym, Mike Middleton, circulating the gym. You can tell he really cares about his job and the facilities. I even once saw him cleaning out the sauna with a lifeguard, unlike many stuffy GM's that never come out from behind a desk. Lastly, equipment is maintained well, replaced ever so often, new equipment is regularly added, and the facilities are very clean. I've seen the sauna and hot tubs be cleaned out frequently. I use the shower often in both the women's locker room and in the family lockers and have never seen them look sub-par other than in the afternoons in the summer as families trod in and out. read more

Lifetime Fitness's childcare facility put my baby in danger while I was working out. My baby (who can't walk) was left unattended and kept getting hit and knocked down by the door because of the heavy traffic of bigger kids coming in & out constantly. I made a reservation for the infant room but he was left outside of the infant room unattended. I contacted my local gym in Woodstock, Ga (where the incident took place) & Lifetime Corporate office about cancelling my membership ASAP because of what happened to my baby. I talked to Dustin Otto (manager) in the Lifetime Fitness corporate office who was very rude to me & refused to cancel my membership. Dustin Otto was unmoved, unsympathetic, & unapologetic about what happened to my baby. He was quite rude & nasty. He criticized me when I told him about my child. In a nasty, arrogant, smart-like tone like he could care less, Dustin Otto told me, like it was all my fault, that I should have made an incident report. I had already told management that's all I could do. I'm not an employee & don't know employee protocol to make an incident report. When the incident happened, I repeatedly called the manager, Cara. She didn't return my call until I talked to a female employee at the corporate office who insisted on calling Cara for me. After the lady in corporate called Cara, Cara then had her assistant, Sasha, to call me back to set up a time for us to talk. When I met with Cara, in the meeting, she (in a very nice tone) repeatedly told me next time to only talk to Sasha & I don't have to contact her. Cara nicely told me over & over again many times... that Sasha, her assistant, will relay the message to her. Even though she was nice, I still felt a little uneasy. I understand she wants me to talk with her asst & leave it at that. But that didn't sit well with me. This is my baby, my child's safety. I still wanted to talk to an actual manager. I felt because of the serverity of the situation, I should talk to a real manager about it, not just an assistant. I wanted to hear from a real manager. I wanted to be the one to actually speak to the manager myself. Well, I guess I may be the only one who felt that it was severe. I feel like I'm the only one who's generally concerned about my baby being left unattended, getting hit & knocked around by a door when he should have been in the infant room because I made a reservation for the infant room, not Lifetime Fitness employees. So, now, why is Dustin Otto, corporate Lifetime Fitness manager, getting smart with me, pointing the finger at me, telling me what I did wrong, when it was Lifetime Fitness employees the ones in the wrong by putting my baby in danger (leaving my baby alone and unattended to get hit & knocked over by a door that's constantly opening & closing due to bigger kids coming in & out). My baby couldn't walk. My baby was constantly getting hit & knocked down by the bigger kids running in & out of the door. It made me cry. I couldn't believe that Dustin Otto, a manager in the corporate was so nasty after I explained this situation & why I wanted to cancel. I feel like no one concerned about my baby getting repeatedly hit by a door, not Lifetime Fitness. When I repeatedly asked for Dustin Otto supervisor's name, he refused to give me a name. He told me that there was no one higher, or over him than him that I could talk to. I repeatedly asked Dustin Otto was the head person in charge of the Lifetime Fitness company & there was anyone over him to talk to. He repeatedly responded that there was indeed no one over him to talk to. Dustin Otto refused to give me any supervisor's or manager's name. I guess that you can conclude from our conversation that Dustin Otto owns Lifetime Fitness. I called back & a different employee told me that a woman named Bab is over Dustin Otto. I left a voicemail for Bab but she never called back. Because my baby was put in danger & repeatedly hit by a door, & I was treated to rudely, I'm cancelling my Lifetime Fitness family membership. $140 per month for my membership and this is the treatment I get. After some time went by, Dustin called me back after he contacted the Woodstock, Ga location and they told him what happened with my child in their childcare facility. After talking to them, he did agree to cancel my membership. I wouldn't want any parent to go through what I went through with Lifetime Fitness. I do not fill comfortable leaving my child in their childcare facility. Parents want to feel that their children are safe while they're working out. I feel that my child is not safe there. read more

Life Time Fitness is ok, but way too expensive for what is offered here. I mean it's a really nice looking building with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna, basketball courts, rock wall, and gym equipment; they even have a cafe and beauty spa. But when it comes down to 2 of us in the family being members at $130.25 per month, it just isn't worth it; especially for me since I only use the gym equipment. The staff here is friendly, some fake friendly, but overall they do a pretty good job at recruitment and checking you in at the gym. However they really need to focus on keeping the gym clean; they always run out of wipes to wipe the equipment and I never see any of the staff actually cleaning the equipment in the gym (even staff at Planet Fitness comes around wiping down the equipment) to make sure everything is clean and has a longer lifespan. Pretty much this place is on par with Gold's Gym down the road, but is 3x the costs. Sure they provide sweat towels and bath towels; but it's not that great of a gym. Overall, I really like the place, but I think for me personally the money I'd save at Planet Fitness or Gold's would come in better use; but alas there is the contract for a year I had to sign, so I must stay and pay. read more

What can I say? I LOVE this place. The facility is beautiful. As others have said, it's like a country club without the golf. It's got indoor and outdoor swimming. The outdoor pool has a pretty slick water slide and there's plenty of seating and a concession stand to boot. There's a rock climbing wall, basketball courts, and Aveda spa, and Cafe on site. And best of all, they have a great kids care area equipped with its own basketball court, indoor play space and tablets. My son loves going and always makes a new friend. It's nice to be able to work out with such great child care. I've been really impressed so far. I guess it's true...you get what you pay for. I'll be a member for years to come. read more

I have been a Lifetime Fitness member for 12 years here in Georgia, and we were LFT members in Tinley Park, Illinois before that....when we first moved here in 2002 there was not a LFT close, so when it was built a few years later we were thrilled to come back to the fitness center we have loved! It is like going to a country club...the facility is beautiful, clean and spacious. And the finishes of the club are high end. Granite countertops, and rich wood finishes in the locker rooms. They supply towels (bath size and hand towel size), shampoo and body soaps. The sauna and steam room are great. NOW....what the club has that I think is a huge step above all other health clubs are the Group fitness classes! They are the best! And ALL the instructors are awesome! If you aren't a Group fitness person, this club has a wide variety of health club equipment....and so much equipement you will NEVER have to wait for a piece of equipment to free up to get on what you want to workout on! It also has a workout floor with free weights, and weight machines .....there is so much I can't give all the detail in this review...BUT you should check it out. There are less expensive health clubs....but you get what you pay for, most don't offer what Lifetime Fitness does...and the Woodstock location is my favorite! I love my LFT family! More treadmills than you can shake a stick at. Pools, trainers and spas, oh my! It is more than a gym. There is a yoga studio, a cafe, rock climber's wall, basketball court, racquetball courts, personal training area, plus the usual machines a plenty. Plus, there are multiple pools - 2 Indoor (one zero-entry) and an outdoor. They are not super sales-y (which I hate sales-y), and my trainer is just pushy enough for my taste. They do let kids in, but you have to be 12 to get upstairs where the real workouts happen, so they are not underfoot at all. The place is never full of hard bodies, so I feel like I fit in and can workout with being ogled or harassed - that's all that matters to me. read more

ABSOLUTELY the BEST gym I have ever belonged to in my 4-decades of life! It is a gym, a yoga/pilates studio, a nutrition center, a cafe, a spa, a beauty parlor, rock climber's world, neighborhood b-ball court, exercise studio, personal training meet-up all under one roof! To top it off, Lifetime fitness offers a very clean 24-hour facility with a water park style pool -- two! Indoor and outdoor! Now, what doesn't this place have that you might need? A walk path or indoor lap facility, driving range, tennis courts, all-day child care (2 hour limit), free party facilities, and slip-free locker room floors. No gym is PERFECT, right? There are lots of specials to off-set the seemingly high prices. If you can wait for the services you want, join the mailing list. The door price for membership is comparable to Gold's down the road and offers a whole lot more. Lifetime's customer service, like their neighbor Gold's, is excellent too. At Lifetime, though, there are many, many more departments and people available to help you wherever you need it. Member services keeps extended business hours all throughout the week. Personal trainers swarm the entire top floor and are all eager to help. Massage therapists keep their tables warm and ready for you! The only service I am still waiting to see is the long-promised registered dietary analyst. However, the interim professionals are all highly qualified, knowledgeable, and... cheaper!
