We've been members at Windy Hill Athletic Club for about seven years and have seen the club go through its ups and downs, especially before and after COVID. While we've noticed some welcome improvements recently, there are still a few areas that could use more attention. After COVID, the overall maintenance of the club noticeably declined. It's encouraging, though, to see positive changes lately -- the towels are finally looking bright and white again (instead of gray), and the wipes and towels in the workout area are being replenished regularly. Those small improvements really make a difference. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor pool much this past summer, partly due to all the rain, but also because the pool maintenance wasn't at its best. Leaves and dead bugs often collected in the water, which made it less inviting. Hopefully, that's something that can be improved before next season. One thing that has remained consistently great over the years is the front desk staff. They're always friendly, welcoming, and make it a pleasure to visit the club -- their attitude really sets a positive tone for members. Overall, Windy Hill has come a long way, and we appreciate the efforts to bring it back to the standard it once had. With continued attention to cleanliness and facility upkeep, it could easily be one of the best clubs in the area again. MRS says: I'm actually no longer a member but still come in as a guest. I especially enjoy dining at the café -- the shakes and salads are always fresh and delicious, and it's a nice spot to relax after a visit.

**Update** The general manager of the club reached out to me (different from the manager/rep I dealt with on Halloween) and did a great job of smoothing things over and addressing the situation. This doesn't change how I view the pricing of the memberships, but I can say that leadership-wise I think the club is in good hands. Updating the stars from 1 to 2. Pretty good club but still expensive and difficult to cancel. I wouldn't say buyer beware, but buyer be mindful. **** This gym tricks you so that it's really hard to cancel. First: they lock you in for at least a year. Why do that when Lifetime doesn't? To keep you trapped. If it was a good gym, they wouldn't have to do that. Second: even after your first year, you "have to cancel before the 25th of the month." Or else they charge you anyway. Which of course people aren't very aware of until they try to close, like I did. Read the bottom for my experience on closing my account. Third: they don't allow you to cancel in person. They make you go through forms online and then you have to wait a couple days to hear from corporate who will decide your fate. When I tried to cancel on Halloween, the gym manager hounded me and made a scene by loudly saying (at the desk) that I couldn't actually wanna leave and that they love me there (none of them knew my name.) When I explained that Windy Hill athletic club tried to increase my dues from $179 to $199 in November (my dues were $159 in 2022!) and that I could go to Lifetime for $169, he tried arguing that I'd be paying that much in the extra drive. -_- Lifetime Sandy Springs is 15 mins away. Go there instead! Most important point: he mentioned that I need to cancel before the 25th, and I said wait but if I submit now, can't the charge just be reversed? And he said yes it can be reversed just make sure the time stamp is in October. See the screenshots for their response! Windy Hill Athletic Club is a mediocre gym that charges over $200 a month to newcomers. They lock you in for a year minimum and then make you jump through hoops to cancel. They don't uphold the word of their managers either! Literally any other gym is better. If you wanna go cheaper try OneLife, if you want high quality try Lifetime

You get what you pay for. Membership is pricey but well worth it. My family spends 6days a week here. So many things that each person can do. Staff are super friendly. Private swim lessons with Mackenzie has been the best part of this club. I definitely suggest this gym/club to everyone that needs a place to relax and work on mental wellness.

Trash is rarely emptied. It's clear it isn't cleaned frequently and the locker room facilities in general need fully renovated. I've called twice to notify the club manager. The first time the front desk took my name and number and advised the manager would call back. They did not. The second time they thanked me for the feedback and apologized. Very little interest from leadership at this location in making it better.

KIDS KLUB LA FITNESS TAKE HEED IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WITH A…read moreDISABILITY I've been taking my son (who has high functioning Autism) to the Kids Klub at LA Fitness Terrell Mill for almost a year and never had a single issue until Ms. Vaughn started working there. Suddenly, she began alleging that my son was being "aggressive," which is completely out of character and not supported by his daily ABA therapy reports or the previous Kids Klub caregiver, Ms. Karen, who worked with him regularly without problems. Since Ms. Vaughn, I've noticed inconsistent and unfair treatment -- one day Ms. Vaughn said the maximum number of kids allowed was 15, then the very next visit claimed it was 10 and refused to let my son in. She's also suggested I bring in a device to keep him occupied instead of encouraging him to play, also upon entering the kids klub one session I heard her telling small children to keep the toys off the floor, which is unacceptable in a kids' center. Now my son has even been banned from the Kids Klub without ANY documentation, proof, or communication with me as a parent. If his behavior were truly an issue, I should have been contacted immediately, which NEVER happened. I was completely dumbfounded when I was able to check my son in at the front desk with no issue, just to be told by Ms. Vaughn that my son is banned. As a parent, I feel my son has been discriminated against because of his autism, and I cannot recommend this location to other families until LA Fitness addresses this issue with accountability and fairness. Children with disabilities deserve to be treated equally and with respect -- not singled out. UPDATE 8/19 Called up to the gym & I spoke with Lexi, the manager of the store and she was absolutely no help, she claimed she could not find his parent's information when prior to me leaving yesterday, (8/18) I wrote my name, my sons name and my telephone # for contact, she never intended to reach out to me honestly and that was a very weak excuse to not reach out for such a urgent matter. She also advised me they have no policy whatsoever on the max amount of kids that get to be in the kids klub, the caregiver gets to make that call. I find it very hard to believe that a company as large as LA Fitness has no set guidelines on the absolute maximum amount of kids allotted in the facility at a given time. Further more she explained they don't have any cameras in this kids klub, so we cannot confirm any of these incidents because guess what? THERE WAS NO DOCUMENTATION or INCIDENT REPORTS! So now its all on a he say, she say basis. Lexi also mentioned she walked in and seen my son being physical with another kid, yet she did not reach out to me, AGAIN the incident was NOT documented. Lexi mentioned that the employees in the kids klub are not trained to handle children with disabilities, on my sons 1st day with Ms. Vaughn, i advised her he has autism - THAT WAS HER OPPURTUNITY to be transparent with me, not once did she say anything to me. Prior to Ms.Vaughn, we had MINIMAL issues. These are serious allegations and should be handled as such, why are they not taking this much more seriously with proper documentation and also involving me as the parent more. No one has ever called me or came to get me while in the gym to come get my son for these accusations to be SO severe that he is banned.
