We came here for a dinner in the lavender farm on Saturday night and had a great time. It was only about a 40 minute drive from my location in Tucson. It was raining earlier in the day but they were able to keep the event happening on time. They had a buffet style dinner set up. They served pork meatballs for an appetizer which I could not try since I don't eat pork. I didn't see any water. It would have been cool if they had a lavender infused water option. They had earl grey tea (I can't have caffeine) and a delicious lavender wine spritzer. The wine spritzer was really weak though (alcohol content). They ran out of salad so we only got a couple bites. I wish they had made more. It looked really good with blueberries and strawberries. I wasn't really a fan of the main dish (pasta with chicken). The chicken was dried out and it wasn't warm by the time we got our food. The carrots were really good. We took pictures in the lavender farm and they turned out great. There were lots of bees in the lavender field but they didn't bother us. Expect porta potties and a short walk between the dinner tables and the lavender farm. I have not yet been to the farm- but I recently attended a tea and bread tasting hosted by them at the Manor in downtown Tucson and it was MAGICAL! While I usually have the grace of a rhinoceros; I felt transported to another time and place and felt like royalty! Picking out our own tea cups and tea pot was so special too- I adored how everything was mismatched yet looked so seamless. We were offered three different loose leaf teas and three sourdough breads (made by a local cottage baker even)! For their first event like this- I thought it went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Just a reminder though- this is a historic manor with no AC so the summer months will be warm, and early morning events will be your friend! read more

OH my goodness! What a real life fairy tale farm! I took my 75yr old mom there for a belated mother's day yesterday. First off, the little bathroom/outhouse at the top of the path was ADORABLE! (Yes, it's an outhouse, but located in a shed and decorated very cute and it didn't smell bad and there was an outdoor faucet to wash your hands.) then you walk down a little path towards their gift shop/check in. The gentleman that checked us in was very very nice and friendly, then you walk down a bit farther and pick up your picnic basket. The picnic area was so cute ! that whole area would've been the perfect spot for a small wedding or outdoor high tea. There were some chunky lizards running around, beautiful butterflies and lots of songbirds. We loved it! My mom can't walk far and there were so many little places to sit along the trail as we headed toward the lavender fields so she didn't have a hard time getting up to the lavender. The only drawback was the hill to the animals she couldn't do and the parking lot was a little sketchy when we first pulled up - i felt it was hard to park and it was gravelly and hilly. But I took so many pictures of my mom that I will cherish long after she's gone. the lavender was just starting to bloom and it was stunning! Whoever decorated the little sitting areas throughout the place really knew what they were doing, because it was BEAUTIFUL! The picnic was fabulous, all the food delicious and I bought my mom a scone gift box to take home and she loved them! it was absolutely the PERFECT day! Thanks for the wonderful memories with my mom! We will be back next spring hopefully and now she wants to do a tea at the Manor in Tucson! I'll be researching that! read more

Bloom time at the lavender farm is magical! The blooms, colors, butterflies, bees, relaxing smell of lavender..,coupled with whimsical art through out the park, benches, picnic spots, beautiful shaded oak trees... makes a summer morning so pleasant and beautiful. During bloom time you are able to cut your own lavender for a small fee or sign up for a wreath making class or a yoga class along with a bunch of other events and activities at the farm. And of you miss bloom season- you can still enjoy a picnic or a stroll connecting with nature all around you. If you dislike or can't tolerate the outdoors or need a lavender fix the rest of the year- they have a store on 4th that also offers products, tea parties and very soon will also have activities such as lavender wreath making. The lavender picking was well organized and it was so fun to see all the different types of lavender they grow (though you only get to pick one kind). I can't speak enough good things about the lovely lavender farm. I took a lavender wreath class and it was such a great time. We got to sit under a giant oak and create our own wreath the way we wanted to. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. We sipped lavender lemonade and created a wreaths. After the owner let us know we could borrow some parasols and walk through the lavender fields to take some photos. I also ordered some lavender cookies and scones and they were amazing! read more

We visited here in the morning mid-June. It was already hot. So we didn't tour as much as we would have loved to do. Loved this place though. Nice people working there. Informative too. We tried Easter Brunch. Beautiful day, wind was a little chilly. Buffet style breakfast with spinach scrambled eggs, delicious large pieces of bacon, country potatoes and fruit salad. Good coffee with lavender fused cream. Tables were whimsically set up in pleasant dessert surrounding. Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Such a lovely place here in Arizona. Group of us decided to head down to Oracle AZ, took us about 2 hours drive from Phoenix. We prepaid for the entrance fee and picnic basket in advance. They do accept cash but paying in advance will save you money. I picked lavender chicken sandwich for my branch. It comes with lavender lemonade, lavender cookies and lavender potato salad in a pretty picnic basket. They have a plenty of tables available and we enjoyed chatting for hours over nice lunch near the lavender fields. Call ahead to make sure lavender is at full blooms. They also sell lavender goods at a pop up gift shop. I purchased several lavender goods including culinary buds, lotion bars, essential oils and so on. They shared a lavender syrup recipe and I can't wait to make my own lavender latte at home. read more

Cutest Hidden Spot! Did not know this existed and being a native from Tucson surprised I had to learn about it from the news. Even though it is a little far it is worth the drive! The farm itself is gorgeous and aroma of the lavender just surrounds you. It a cute but very walkable size farm. You can pick lavender for medium size for $10. Just make sure to go between 8-10am and they are open until 12. They also offer picnic basket with lavender theme items and gift shop near the field. The workers are extremely friendly show you how to cut and answer all questions you have regarding the farm. This is your next summer activity and it is so worth it! Don't forget a hat, sunscreen, and water!! read more

I've been to Life Under the Oaks several times over the years and it's been amazing to watch their progress. The owner, Carolyn, John and her family have put their heart and soul into building up the farm and it shows! With classes, events and open farm days, there are plenty of different ways to enjoy a visit to the farm. I've taken several workshops, the lavender wreath and wand ones being my favorites. I've purchased several products from the boutique and they've all been lovely. I highly recommend a trip to the farm, especially during the summer as a way to beat the heat, but also to experience bloom season! It's cooler in Oracle than Tucson, so get there early (classes start at 8) and wear your sunscreen, a hat and closed toed shoes. read more

We visited the farm on Sunday for the U pick day. We were greeted at the check in and quickly headed to the lavender fields. Where we were met with Famer John (? Sorry I wish I remembered his name!) and he gave us further instructions on how to carefully pick our own lavender bundles! The fields were gorgeous! So many beautiful pollinators were fluttering around the flowers! My oldest daughter had a blast watching the butterflies! After we picked our bundles we grabbed our lunch baskets! We ordered our lunch a few days ahead on their website and were excited to try all the lavender infused goodies! With tired babies we ended up taking our lunch home to enjoy but if you wanted to eat in property they had tons of tables around the farm to relax on! We were there June 22nd Its a lovely setting. Rained earlier but the tables and seating werent wet. There were four of us. We sat at a picnic table with attched bench. Not really conducive to getting up and down to get food. Salad was pretty but there was barely any left when we got there. Entree was chicken pasta. Pasta was stuck together and cold, as was the chicken. Dessert was tasty, but the crepes were all stuck together, making it hard to pick them up from the tray. We drove down this weekend from Phoenix to visit our family and spend the day at the Fairy Festival It is such a neat place to visit and the customer service is amazing!! The tickets were $17 and they offered complimentary lavender lemonade and lots of different lavender infused snacks like cookies, sconces, popcorn which were all delicious. A very cool and unique place to check out. They were having a special Mother's Day event so we took mom out there for a wonderful day of tea and lavender infused treats my favorite was the blueberry cheesecake with a hint of lavender, loved it! They had some nice tables and chairs set up under various mesquite trees for shade and we sat there and enjoyed some live Native American flute music in the lavender fields. My family and I came here for the Victorian Christmas dinner . The lavender farm wasn't blooming but the farm felt so inviting . The owners are extremely nice and there is a ton of picture opportunities on the property . The Christmas dinner was lavender inspired . We started off the meal with a sparkling wine with lavender and blood orange . I had 3 because they were so good. My daughter loved the vegetable consommé and ham . While my son and husband devoured their quail roasted with lavender butter . To end the evening we said goodbye to our donkey friend in the petting Zoo area And drank earl grey lavender tea and hot cocoa. The smell of the lavender in bloom, the butterflies and bees, and lots of seating under the shade of the trees was so peaceful and beautiful. We did the wreath workshop. It was so much fun under that huge oak tree. It was cool and plenty of lavender, ribbons and materials to create our wreaths. The attention to details was everywhere! Lavender Farms is an incredible , magical place! My daughter and I went there last Sunday to celebrate my birthday. Couldn't have picked a better place. They had 3 donkeys but weed growth prevented them of getting near the fence, and a few ducks that were sleeping and did not care to see us. This was my second visit to Life Under the Oaks Lavender Farm, this time for High Tea. The cost was $50 + tax. We were served delightful tea in charming tea cups, That was the best part of the tea. We dined on half of a chicken salad sandwich served on plain bread, half of a veggie sandwich served on a plain wheat bread and a type of pumpkin soup that was void of salt and therefore void of flavor. Dessert was also sparse. A 1" x 1" brownie and a pumpkin scone. Not worth the $50. read more

My daughter and I went to the farm for a lavender wreath workshop. It was a perfect mother/daughter get-away. Carolyn was very skilled and helped us bring out our creativity. We all made beautiful wreaths, enjoyed some lavender lemonade, and got a tour of the beautiful farm. We ventured over to the lavender store afterwards to purchase some cool lavender-made products. It was cooler up at the farm, so it was the perfect thing to do on a summer day. The workshop was just $25.00 and included the lemonade, I definitely recommend a trip up north for this, or one of their other lavender events! read more

One of my all-time favorite places in Tucson/Oracle. Took house guest there for tour. Delicious lavendar tea, coffee, vanilla lavendar cookies and lavender infused cream. Perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. LOTS to see and do -- good for kids, too. Farm animals! Pet the mules. Going back to make Christmas ornaments with lavender in them in December.
