I have been receiving treatment from Dr. John at Life Chiropractic for five weeks. After a referral from a friend, I sought Dr. John for relieve of an continuous five week headache. I had previously had the same headache and symptoms in 2013 (which lasted four weeks). At that time my doctor sent me to an ENT followed by a Neurologist. Three MRIs, several Xrays and a ton of money later, the Neurologist prescribed steroids, told me it was stress, mentioned I should learn to mediate, and sent me on my way. This year when the same headache came on, I decided to take a different route. Mind you, I am a RN who works for a medical device company. Seeking a chiropractor is not a normal path for me. Thank goodness my friend (and fellow athlete) was persistent. After my initial consult, I saw Dr. John four times the first week. He took me seriously and was sincere in his concern for my well-being. My best description for the headache - it felt like someone had hit me in the back of the head with a bat. I could not function properly at work, had missed several days, couldn't think clearly and was sometimes dizzy . After each treatment I felt a little better. At day seven I woke up for the first time in 6 weeks without a headache! I cried it had been so long and I was beginning to think I would have to live with this situation. I am 52. I play & pitch 4-8 slow-pitch softball games a week and I feel better than I have felt in years. My head, my back, arms, legs, knees and feet (btw I have had arthritis for years) - Dr. John treats the whole body and mind. There are great people working with him too. It's so nice to know I can take my children to Dr. John whenever there's an emergency. He's our frontline of defense. I take the kids to him if they start having a sore throat, have a belly ache or injuries from sports. I would have more grey hairs if it weren't for him! He pinpoints what is going on physically and emotionally so that the whole child is attended to. Today I brought my son because he had a severe belly ache. I was worried about appendicitis. Dr. John confirmed that my son was fighting something and needed immune boosters. He also did adjusted my son so that he is pain level lowered and I was able to take him straight to school. Recently moved to Denver and began full-time work in Longmont. WOW!!!! I cant' believe how knowledgable and cutting edge Dr. John is. Not only is he extremely proficient in body mechanics but with nutritional and emotional involvement as well. He really understands that we are multi-faceted and have lots of seemingly small issues that are all connected.... even ones I didn't know myself! My wife was experiencing some severe back pain that was so painful, she said the 5 days of labor (yes, 5 days!) she went through with our son didn't compare. With a yoga and dance workshop looming the next day, it didn't look good when all she could do is lay in bed. I am so excited about my health since starting my work with Dr John! I have been seeing him consistently for almost 6 months, and I am the only one of my friends who is not experiencing seasonal allergies right now!
