When I got there 40 minutes later, the wait time was still 25 minutes. 20 minutes after that, the wait was still 21 minutes. 30 minutes after that the wait was still 20 minutes according to the app. The only good thing was that I went afterwards and vented to the tech and she let us wait inside becuase the person that need the shot was a senior. About 20 minutes after that we were done. It's lucky they lifelabs has a monopoly because If I could, I'd use someone else. Total wait time, close to 2 hours. Yuck.

And upon checking the lifeLabs website found out it was to be open today. I headed there early, for its first day of operations. I arrived at the facility as the staff were arriving for their first day working at the facility. And was their first customer to check in!! The facility was shiny new and clean, and the procedures conducted perfectly -- thanks to the staff, I could not have asked for anything more. I was called up to to the desk to check in promptly at 7 am (the business opening time), and was out, and walking back home in a matter of a few minutes. My thanks to LifeLabs for opening this new location in the area, and to the friendly, skilled staff conducting the laboratory procedures.

Be prepared to to spend at least 90 minutes any time of the day waiting for your turn. There's a coffee shop outside the building, therefore, I went there to kill some time and work on my 'zine. The actual space is cold and uninviting. There are two outlets, therefore, for the long wait there's always someone hogging the plug to charge their phone. The nurses are rushed and impersonal, kinda rude. They don't give you a cookie any more unless you ask. I have issues with blood and faint at every blood test. I fainted of course and when I came to they still didn't offer me a cookie. When I asked for juice and a cookie to get my blood sugar up (I have a blood sugar issue) they looked at me as if I asked them for a million dollars. Not to mention they always have trouble finding a vein. The reason why they get a 3 is 'cause they give results in a reasonable time frame.

I've been to so many LifeLabs, I've lost count. But BY FAR, this is the absolute best site, hands…read moredown. Here are the reasons: -efficiency. They are appointment-based only. No walk-ins. So you are assured a spot and a time, with minimal waiting. -large and bright office, and impeccably clean. -FREE WI-FI. (This is a real rarity at other lab sites). -more services are offered here than at many other LifeLab sites. Examples: EKG's, cardiac holder monitors, etc. -Professionalism of staff. A female checked me in (I didn't get her name) and although she was somewhat aloof, she was thorough and organized and I had zero wait time. My tech was Ian and he was phenomenal. I have had to get cardiac monitors and EKG's frequently and he was the most thorough when it came to instructions and, wow, they even provide you with a mesh "vest" over the monitor (I never got that before, and it made a huge difference in comfort level and stability). And even upon returning the following day, the staff here remembered me and the whole "disconnect and drop-off" experience was, dare I say, pleasant. My experiences at this site were unlike any I've had at other LifeLabs, and this will be the only site I go to from here on in, for sure.

The location of this 'Lab' is tucked away a touch from the general flow in the area. and from personal experiences (daughter's and mine), can often be found a little less-active than others in nearby areas (within New Westminster and Burnaby). I arrived at the location about 5 minutes before the Lab's opening time of 8 am, and stood (as #3) in a line outside. The line had grown to double that amount by the time we were first allowed any entrance to check in. Once inside, the initial checking in process was prompt. The waiting time after though, to be actually processed for the lab procedures took some time, but knowing I was third to be taken helped! When my name was called, I was back to the desk, specific data taken, and then was off to the lab area for the procedures -- which proceeded friendly, quickly, and very efficiently! With smooth, and totally painless needle work by the lab tech at my station!! After a short visit to the 'other' place to make a deposit, I was back to daughter waiting for me outside!

Front desk staff made me wait 20 minutes even though I had booked an appointment. Several people who were booked in to appointments after me were attended to very quickly as were several walk in patients. No reasonable explanation given. Rudely told to wait as others were attended to first. Asked for blood to be taken from back of my hand as I had done in the recent past in the same office (it is easier and causes less pain that way). The angry staff member raised her voice at me and said it was impossible to do for scientific reasons. A form of medical gaslighting. I was almost in tears. Wanted to request another staff person but felt too intimidated. If they are feeling stressed they should take a break, not be abusive to members of the public. And lying to patients is just a sign of an insane, unstable clinic staff.

Two back-to-back, appointment-arranged, recent morning visits to this lab for my lady -- I helped…read moreand accompanied her into the lab for each. - first morning - an extended time visit (about an hour), to conduct several procedures. - second morning - a short time in / out to conclude everything. She was well taken care of ... from initial checking in each day, to and through the various tests, and procedures done. And in good spirits when she came back out to the lobby, waved to me, and said "I'm done". .. update -- no, not done quite yet -- her family doctor called and advised that lab tests had revealed an infection present in one of the tests. The lab wanted to run the test again, to confirm ... and it did. A req had been sent by family doctor to pharmacy for an antibiotic to be put on hold, upon receiving the first news -- it was now activated, and I was there to pick it up. All this was done within our Thanksgiving weekend!! A big thanks extended to LifeLabs, family doctor, and pharmacy for their coordinated efforts!!!!

I had to drop off my sample this morning and the person in the middle desk was the most rudest…read moreperson ever. I waited until she was done speaking with another person and I approached and asked where I could leave the sample bag. She practically screamed at me and claimed that she was busy dealing with something else and she yelled to go and stand "back there", she waved her hand and said, "that blue line". I waited patiently and then another aide came and sat at the first desk. She saw that I had a sample bag and asked if she could help me. I asked if I could drop off my sample and she said that she could take it. I felt like saying that her co-worker was very rude, but I refrained. I would suggest that this location should have some kind of drop off box or another system where people can quickly drop off their samples and be on their merry way and not have to get their heads bitten off for asking a legit question. I think that aide #2 in the middle desk needs to have better manners and should get better training dealing with the public cordially and effectively. She simply could have just taken the sample, but instead wanted me to wait in line. Yes, I get you are busy but in these times, a little human compassion/understanding would have gone a long way.
