How could this store have been here 34 years and I had missed it? This is a unique jewel for a…read moreMother/Daughter shopping: reminded me of Smiths that was next door to Western grocery so many years in MtnBrook Village. "Fun Stuff" is not what I expected. They do have a few toys, a little candy and some cute clothes for kids, but it's mostly special fun stuff for adults. This is the perfect place for a very cool wedding gift! A huge monogrammed cutting board with initials on one side and the couples portrait on the other was pretty reasonable! Monogrammed towels in a million color threads, monogrammed water pitchers, glasses, stationary, and lucite napkin holders, heirloom monogrammed scrap books or baby books, serving trays, snack bowls of various woods, college or sorority items, a few ladies coverups, seasonal decor and more to choose from! I ended up with a darling gold ice scoop & towels with our 3 initials! Friendly service tops it off! I'm returning for my favorite unique gift under $30: a tea towel with a copy of a fave family recipe, in Grandma's own handwriting! So here comes "Nana Kathy's Bourbon Sweet Potatoes" made famous!

Confirmed, first step inside and it was exactly the type of home décor store she likes. All sorts of things --- really so much stuff packed into this store, but not cluttered, just really good use of space. Really cool feature, they offer monogramming, engraving and vinyl services, so if you are looking for a gift for somebody (or something for you) and you want to personalize it, they have the ability to make that happen for you. Prices seemed to be good and on par with other home décor stores. The store is split kind of into two halves - to the right is home stuff - to the left is kids stuff - clothes, toys, etc. Staff was really friendly and helpful checking on me a couple times while I was in the store to make sure I didn't need anything. Great little shop in Vestavia Hills, check them out!

Interested in a coffee but not sure of the best milk option (because they are dairy free and all milk options are included) or if it's best hot or iced? Just ask. Seriously, ask! They are honest in saying oh no, better iced/better hot. While they are crafting your beverage, stroll the accompanying retail shop for quality shoes and purses, local art, local makers works, books and jewelry. While they do not hand craft their syrups, the syrups that they use (Pink Alchemy) are top notch and not overly cloying. They have always hit the spot. Always so welcoming! Shop local, shop minority owned, shop the place that accepts and loves everyone!

(They only offer milk based milk options) The coffee itself had a good taste I do think I would have preferred just a regular iced coffee with the flavor but I know that for next time. I did enjoy being able to look at the offerings of the connected store (Basic.) they had many unique things for sell including clothing, shoes and various books. Tyler was great with helping make my selection of drink and I loved how patient he was with assisting on the order. The feel of the space was very comfortable and welcoming to creatives. I love the location and how it is in walking distance to so many things. Thankfully I was able to find a parking spot across the street and didn't have to pay to park. Basic. is the store sharing the space and it is nice to be able to browse their inventory while waiting for your drinks. They have some things that I have not seen anywhere else if I had to compare it to another store I would compare it to Earth Bound. Everything seemed to be environmentally conscious which is always nice to see.
