Lifesprk also has hands on caregivers but my grandfather lives outside the service area for that I was told.

I chose Global Pointe for the close location to my home as well as the seemingly positive staff and beautiful facility. She moved in Dec 2023 and 3 months later she fell and broke her hip and I moved her out. The memory care staff was not very kind or helpful. They promised my mom would be bathed as she never was at The Kenwood. They did not keep their promise. I don't think her room was cleaned much and I would come and clean her floors. Her bathroom was not cleaned often either. I had to tell staff to do her laundry as it was very stinky and full. Luckily my mom could take care of herself, but needed help and she did not get consistent help. I came almost every day to check on her as the memory care was not very large and she had a huge breakdown when she found out she was locked in, which they charged us extra money as she caused an issue for them. The staff is not trained in dementia and was frequently on their phones and not seemingly interacting much with the elderly clients. Two months after my mom moved in I met with Steve Hoppe, the nursing director, and had some concerns I brought up with my mom and he pretty much ignored them. The food was not really balanced and Sunday the kitchen was closed and they received boxed lunches and dinners. I really regret moving her there as she fell and broke her hip before dinner one night and only one staff person noticed she was not at dinner and went looking for her. She was in pain in her room. The room was cleaned up when I went to her room after she was admitted to the hospital and no accounting of what happened was had. The staff had no idea how it happened and came up with lame excuses. There are no video monitors and no accounting for staff. When someone falls and breaks their hip they are given about a year to live. My mom spent two weeks in the hospital and only the wonderful activities person came to visit. I highly recommend the activity staff there. The director, head of nursing, etc. no one called or seemed to care and when I moved my mom's things out I was kind of ignored. It seems they are barely getting by with staffing. My mom was sometimes fearful there and would call me with recounting of being afraid of staff. One of the nursing staff just stood in my mom's room looking at her when she fell and broke her hip. I would not recommend their memory care as now my mom has good care in another facility finally, but breaking her hip compromised her and she has declined a lot since then and is not in a wheelchair and cannot walk.

She frequently did nor receive basic morning and evening cares and slept in the same clothes for up to three days. Staff rarely interact with residents outside of directions and water is served inconsistently at meals- sometimes multiple meals in a day will not have water. In the last two months Mom was there her sheets were washed once ( she had different sets of sheets with distinct patterns) and had three showers. It is a beautiful facility with cold staff and uncaring administration. There is no monitoring of personal cares. They had a 10% cost of living increase which in their letter informing of the increase linked it the 8 percent increase in social security. They also notified families of significant increases in service costs and several new levels of care which resulted in their highest level of care increasing by almost 4,000 a month without providing definitions of the new levels of service,

It was practical and prepared me to be successfully discharged to my home. I required skilled nursing. I had a catheter that had to be regularly drained and also two nephrostomy tube bags. My room was way to warm when I arrived but maintenance opened the window by 4" and we brought a fan from home. That solved that minor issue. The food was good. I would give it a B. Nursing was A+ Sometimes they were short staffed on the nurses aids side of things. I would rate that as a B- Hope this helps. If I had to be in a TCU again, I would consider this one. The picture is of Chase in PT. A most excellent gentleman

This NOT where you want your loved ones to rehab or stay for even a day. While many of the staff…read moreare hard working and care about patients, my father would describe it as Motel Hell. The focus here seems to be on profits first - patients /residents are the means to that end. Please visit before you allow your relatives to stay here. The vibe is depressing, 1970s Motel 6 (that is actually an insult to motel 6). The staffing meets the bare requirements. When we checked in - they didn't know what time we were arriving so the room wasn't ready. We "relaxed" in the bare common room for about a 1/2 hour. When we were shown to the room (prison cell?), I noticed that the bed sheet was wet and lifted it off the mattress to discover the mattress was soaking. I'm hoping it was some sort of cleaning fluid - and insisted it be changed (why would staff or management allow this!? We should have moved to another faculty at this point. Next I noticed the bed was at an angle - there were not extra beds (full house) and they need to get an engineer to fix it. After many days of continued malfunction I insisted on a new bed. The food - disgusting - how can I put this - you'd be better off at the old Jolly Troll steam tables in Golden valley - it tasted horrible - dad described it using a military term (SOS - Sh*t on a Shingle). Requested "alternative menu" sandwiches were never delivered on time or correctly... this place is a great way to lose weight... starving yourself to death. Push the nurse / aid "help" button - and WAIT. It could be 5 minutes, it might be 1/2 hour... but you are going to wait a long time in most instances. Heating: One setting for the entire floor - sort of a low "bake" or "steam" setting during the cold winter months. Too hot for you? Try opening the escape proof windows to regulate heat. Need sheets changed or a shower - you better ask or insist because they will forget otherwise. Staffing: I'm sure they meet the legal minimums, however, some things were not right. We asked about his weight and they ran off a list of daily weights centered around 148 lbs for every entry , then we asked Dad during a care conference call if he had been weighed that day as they insisted. He said "No". They brought a scale in the room and he suddenly dropped to 142... just dropped 6 pounds in a day - hmmm, is someone fudging entries? Finally, my dad couldn't take it any longer and we checked him out early after the staff couldn't or wouldn't find him an alternative location we suggested. The Assisted Living facility he moved to didn't received the Med List or Drs. Orders so I had to have them email them to me to forward. DO NOT COME HERE UNESSS IT IS YOUR ONLY OPTION... AND THEN THINK AGAIN! PS: One evening I walking the floor and noticed a patient bent over his bed on his stomach (head down towards the floor)... I thought maybe he's looking for his fallen glasses - then I heard him call for help. I motioned the nurse to assist.. what if I wasn't there or he couldn't call out... ? No in-room cameras or motion detection alarms went off... PSS: Try to avoid the birds resting in the canopy over the entryway sh*tting on you as you enter the building... I can't believe they would allow this to continue.

They lie and tear families apart. The most horrific experience I have ever had! They should be shut down for the horrible, terrible things they did and the lies they made up. Thank God everyone realized and saw what they were doing and my mom is safe and out of there and I see her every single day. They purposely kept me from my mom. They are cruel, heartless, and I wonder how they sleep at night. There are a few nice staff, but most are 2-faced and lie. My mom is no longer being held hostage in their homes. I could give you graphic details and pictures but it's not worth it. They are not worth my time. Thank God everyone saw through the lies and got my mom out safely. Their doctor is worthless and doesn't have a clue how to do his job. Seriously, keep your loved one far away from this company. In the house my mom was in one resident died, then another one died shortly after, then my mom rushed to the ER. I started to fear something fishy was going on. The RN has zero personality and gives you zero confidence in her abilities. I could go on and on but I have said enough. Beware: If you report them to MDH or MAARC, the President will keep you from your family member. I am thankful for Ulissa, Ace, Ann, and Brooklyn. I certainly hope the 4 of you move on to a more reputable company and realize the terrible company you work for. It's a cult-like facility and actually scary. It's an absolute shit show. So glad my mom escaped their cult-like prison safely. They actually told me that Red Robin would be her home permanently. Then they pulled a stunt saying it would be shut down and moved her to the more expensive house to steal her money. The other house never shut down and the other 2 residents my mom lived with still live there. They wanted my mom's money. Thank you to the Guardian and the Ombudsman. You saw their true colors. My mom is free and safe and I get to love on her non-stop. The staff at her new facility are amazing and so understanding and loving. Night and Day Difference! Stay away please!

Over these 7 years I have enjoyed a variety of seniors that have enriched my life as well as I have enriched their lives. The office staff of Home Instead Senior Care Minneapolis and Western Suburbs is very receptive to the employees and families needs and matches the skill level of the CAREGiver with the loved one. The families that I work with are very happy with the service we provide and how I have cared for their mother and/or father. The care that I take with their parent(s) allows them to be the daughter or son to their parents and they do not have to worry about the care giving aspect. I have seen a relief from them after I have come into their lives; it is like a weight has been lifted from their lives. Many of the family members have said to me that I am an angel sent to them and they are very appreciative of all I do for their mother and/or father. As an employee of Home Instead Senior Care Minneapolis and Western Suburb, I feel valued and respected for what I provide to the families who request our service. The Home Instead Senior Care Minneapolis and Western Suburb offers a variety of classes for the CAREGivers, which ensures we are trained before we are sent to the home or facility of the person's loved one. There is a trained nurse on staff and when a need arises we can contact her and get immediate medical help. This gives the family a sense of security that when they accept me into their lives as the CAREGiver, they know that there is a solid staff of professionals involved with the care of their loved one(s). The families and seniors are assured that I will treat their loved one/them with the same loving care I would treat my grandmother, my mother or how I would want to be treated.
