They have a large gymnasium they use for the larger classes and cycle. They also do events every quarter to give back to the community. If you like yoga the 2pm Sunday class is a must!

I came during the morning in the last week of break before the semester starts, so it wasn't too packed, which made the workout even better. Roper YMCA is one of the two closest locations to where I reside. So far it has been nice attending…read morethis location. I am greeted every time I check in. What I love about this YMCA location is that there is ample equipment and I am able to get a productive workout complete. So far all machines that I have used are in great working condition. Other members too are able to get their workout done with ease unlike other locations where people are on their phone, taking up the machines and not actually using them efficiently. I have gone early morning around 7 AM and I have also gone in the evenings around 7/8 PM. I have not taken any classes yet, but will soon explore some. My only one complaint is that I have unable to use the sauna due to it being out of order. Hopefully, they're able to repair it soon. I have also heard and read in other reviews that it is frequently being repaired. Hopefully that gets resolved soon.

First, I do want to say the staff were absolutely lovely. We arrived before everything was already set up, and they let my two young children help with scattering some of the eggs beforehand, which was a really kind and memorable touch. They were also great about sharing information on other programs, including a YMCA date night service where parents can drop off their kids while they enjoy dinner and a movie, which honestly sounds like something we might try in the future. The setup itself was a classic "scatter and go" format, with plastic eggs spread across a field and kids released at the same time. While exciting, it always makes things pretty chaotic, and our two-year-old ended up with candy like hard Jolly Ranchers and gum, which aren't really appropriate for toddlers and felt like a bit of a miss given the age range advertised for the section we were told to participate in. For future events, it would be great if the eggs in the under-3 section were filled only with toddler-appropriate items to help avoid potential choking hazards and make the experience more enjoyable, and less stressful, for parents of little ones. The bigger issue, though, was the "golden egg" system. The idea is great, special eggs with prizes inside, but in practice it created some awkward dynamics. We saw families staking out golden eggs ahead of time, including one instance where a parent encouraged their child to literally sit with their hand on an egg before the event started. I'm not here to judge anyone, but it did take away from the fairness and fun of the hunt. A simple fix would be to go more "Willy Wonka" style next time, hide the golden prize as a surprise inside regular eggs rather than making them visible targets. That would keep the excitement while making things feel a lot more equitable for all kids. Overall, a fun event with great staff and good energy, but a few thoughtful tweaks could make it much more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.

Everything in here is verrrrrry old, outdated and kinda gross. I tried this place for a couple days on a free trial membership and both days there was literally like maybe two other people there, no including the people in the classes. They didn't have the kind of treadmills I'm used to using, they didn't have the ellipticals I'm used to using, they didn't even have the weight room accessories I prefer, which are usually pretty standard items. I spoke with the front desk guy, who was very nice, and when I asked what was up with this place he said that everything was donated by the previous owners who ran a diabetes clinic... so... it all makes sense then. lol Except the fact that student memberships are $15/month which is more expensive than a brand new, nice Planet Fitness or somewhere comparable. I don't even wanna know what a non-student membership is... I would NEVER pay that for what they offer! They do have classes... so... if you're strictly a class type person then it's def a good deal. DON'T like gyms with carpet. Gross. Tear that crap up and put in something less easy to infest with bacteria and other nasty micro organism. You're a FL Hosp gym... c'mon peeps.

Lots of equipment, all of it in great shape. Private dressing rooms and showers. The staff is very friendly. Best of all it's affordable. It's a positive feeling to be in a gym run by a hospital. We often think of the hospital as a place we go when things go wrong, instead of thinking of it as a place to stay healthy. When you're riding a machine looking out the window toward the hospital, you can't help thinking these thoughts. I'm a little surprised they don't have longer hours or stay open 24 hours even. Considering that hospital employees have odd hours. Maybe as it's popularity grows, they will consider lengthening the hours. They'll give you a pass to try it out for a week to see how you like it. So check it out!

We called in advance to see if there was an age restriction and to our surprise there was none. Instead they go off the kids interest. Game changer! Lauren was fantastic and the customer service is top notch! They allowed us to try out the walls before committing. This is huge because anyone with little kids knows that the attention span can be non existent at times. However we were pleasantly surprised to see our kids fully engage and try multiple areas without getting frustrated. We decided to stay and we blew past an hour pretty fast. The kids quickly figure out what's difficult and what they can master. They had a blast in one particular section. The place itself is pretty big with multiple areas for climbing and a section for strength training with weights. Everything is neat, clean and bright. Prices are pretty reasonable. Shoe rentals are $6. All ages welcomed. Will definitely be returning soon.
