We can't say enough good things about our experience with Milly Ramsey. She responds quickly to emails, respects customers and those being honored with her cake, and asks all the right questions. A first-rate professional. My mom is a retired university professor, and also a dealer of rare books. Milly created a cake with two extremely realistic books as its base. If you looked at the edges, you could even see the appearance of individual pages! Gold decorated the bindings, which had the appearance of rich leather. We told Milly that mom had hand-made several quilts. Milly requested some photos, and then created a faithful miniature replica of a quilt mom had made for my brother, draping this decorative element artfully over the books. As a final touch, the writing on the cake was presented on a replica of an old-fashioned library book withdrawal sheet! AND everything was not only edible, but mouthwateringly delicious. This was not just an "all show" cake! It looked AND tasted superb, and everyone raved. Some guests even asked me for Milly's contact info... that's how impressive this cake was.

i booked helen because my friend hired her for his wedding, and after our wedding another friend of…read moremine decided to hire her because of us. that basically tells you helen is the type of person you can trust and want to work with. she was in our price range, but i heard she's gone up (understandable, since her work seems to be getting better and better). you can decide for yourself if she's your style - all the weddings she's shot are on her website/blog. as a person, helen is very sweet and soft spoken. on the day of my wedding, i felt completely at ease with her, even though we only met twice. she was generous with her services and went above and beyond what i hired her for. she volunteered to lend me some poles to use for a backdrop i wanted to make, and afterwards she helped my friend disassemble and clean up the reception hall (what photographer does that?!). a lot of photogs hold your photos hostage for up to a year. helen got everything edited and uploaded online for us to view in a matter of weeks, and mailed us our pictures on a DVD shortly after. i was married in September, and was able to use our wedding photos on our holiday cards/thank you notes. i'm pretty sure not many people can say they've done that. so, thank you helen.

The throes of 2020 often made it easy to forget how much we still have to be grateful for. My…read morefamily decided to commemorate this year of togetherness by getting dressed up for a night out to update our family photo. Because we have not been out much, I did not want a transaction, I wanted an experience. Our goal was a high-quality photo session that was as fun as it was safe, and I wanted to support a local small business impacted by the pandemic. Gail and George at Lucozzi Portraits delivered everything I envisioned and more. The studio is spacious and the photographers were socially-distanced, six feet away at all times. They wore masks as an added precaution. They took as many candid shots as they did posed shots and we are thrilled with the results. It is not easy to capture five personalities and to use flattering lighting versus editing to make a 40-year-old mom feel great about every photo. Even better, the young men in our home and my husband were equally as impressed. While at the studio, I learned that George and Gail gifted invitational shoots and complimentary prints to some of the pandemic's unsung frontline medical heroes even in a time their own business took a hit.
