Lighthouse Credit Union, formerly Northeast Credit Union is a good bank. A few of the recent changes though in my opinion are not good. When I went to make a deposit in the Bank, there were no deposit slips. I was told they were going "paperless". I am all for helping the environment and reducing paper consumption. However it does not feel secure on ANY level to repeat my personal information, including my membership number or financial transactions verbally to the teller. Additionally, I was also asked if I wanted to pay on my credit card. My visit on this day was not for this purpose. Yet, I can see that I am going to have to decline this in the future as I generally do not pay it in person. I also do not like hearing my account balances when I have not asked.
I have also noticed that the Telephone Banking instructions are somewhat out of order and confusing. If someone wants to do telephone banking, that option should be upfront.
I guess the abstract sign of a lighthouse goes with the "New" changes which in my opinion are not good. read more
