Classes are small and both instructors are great at providing individual attention and support. Pilates builds strength and improves balance and posture. There are a large variety of ropes to choose from. -There are 4 autobelay options I believe -There is also a lead climbing area. -Of course there is also a bouldering area which seemed like quite a few choices, but they were busy working on it today so there was not much of it open to use. -They have some sinks out by the climbing wall so you can go wash your hands and not have to take off all your gear in order to wash your hands. Cons: -Price! holy smokes $46 for me and my daughter climb for 2 hours. Yikes!!! this is more than i pay for my gym membership for my entire family for a month......... That does not include gear rental either as we have our own so we didn't need any of theirs. If you want or need gear it will be more. -You will need to fill out the waiver upon entering not a big deal but their ipad system makes it a little tough to get through. -If you want to do more than bouldering you will need to take a test for top rope and also watch a video for autobelay. Okay fairly standard. However, they failed to mention until after I paid that 1. they were working on the bouldering wall so not much available there. 2. The guy couldn't leave the front desk and no one else was available so can't do the auto belay training either If a good chunk of things are not going to be an option and obviously we are not a regular maybe make sure you let people know BEFORE they pay. We did do the top ropes test. It will take between 5-15 minutes depending on you. I just felt jipped because we did not have the option of using anything and I paid what I felt like was a LOT of money! They could have at least told me upfront that hey you wont be able to use the auto belay and a lot of our bouldering is tore up so probably can't use a lot of that either. I may have made a different decision and went elsewhere. Anyhow. I guess my impression from last time 2 years ago about to this time was not much different.

Whetstone Climbing is a new climbing gym in the Fort Collins/Loveland area. The facilities are…read moremodern and there is a very ample amount of space for sport climbing, bouldering, and working out. I very much enjoyed my experience at Whetstone and I thought the service and amenities were good. The overall setting was decent. Expect slightly stiffer ratings than other gyms in town but still not overly so. One slight concern I had if I were a regular would be the route turnover- it did not seem to be the same as Ascent, the other gym in town and routes stayed up a bit longer. I think the setting at Ascent is maybe a little better but it's hard to really tell given I only climbed 8 sport routes here vs. years at Ascent. The rates seem fair. $17 for a day pass is cheaper than superior gyms down in Denver. Membership rates seem about the same as Ascent and if I were living in Fort Collins, I'd likely just go to whichever gym was closer to where I lived. The community is friendly and I thought the idea of a bar/coffee area is smart. Definitely hope that Whetstone succeeds as a gym.

I'm so thankful to have found this place. Dance has been a dream of mine since I was a girl. (My…read moreeyes would tear up watching any live dance performance. But I didn't have the opportunity to pursue that dream.) As an adult, most options were barred by my work schedule, the price-tag, or prerequisite experience. There were a few exceptions--times when I've slipped into ballet shoes and into an adult dance class. But, despite my desire to learn, I'd fall behind, feeling like an outsider in a club for the more experienced. Thankfully, since moving to Loveland last year, I noticed SlapStep Studio online. The location (near King Soopers on E 29th St), and the price-tag ($25 two week trial), made it convenient to try. I jumped into 4 classes the first week, and returned to two classes the second week. I found all the instructors to be helpful and insightful, reminding me of some of my favorite yoga instructors, as they highlight muscles used for each move. Bonnie's Lyrical dance on Thursdays is emotive, and unites the entire body for poetic, fluid motions. In Vixen or other classes, Marlene's dance expertise and care is evident in her smile and elegant display of each glide and gesture. You don't need to have prior experience to join beginner classes, and instructors and fellow students are encouraging and positive. Marlene's classes especially draw dancers from a span of ages--from twenty-something to retired. In every class, including Flora's Pound Fit on Friday, there were ecstatic moments where all levels and ages danced together harmoniously. Thanks for making dance classes for grown ups of all levels, and for the introductory offer of $25 for two weeks. (Also, I should be able to afford the $55 for 4 classes a month, but I'm searching for a job right now.) Hope this studio and its students are around for a long time!

There is barely any communication from the office, class times are often not updated or accurate on the website, holiday closures are not clearly communicated (or communicated at all before the closure), and the end of year show and costume process are equally disorganized. Having been to more than 5 other dance studios throughout my life in different states and worked for years as an office assistant at a very large studio, it's clear to me that the logistics here are the worst of anywhere I've attended. There is no flexibility to change class times year to year - a huge frustration especially for adult classes, as we got stuck on Sunday mornings with no alternative option in the evening, because the owner refuses to move any kid class times. If your main teacher is out, good luck getting a substitute - as adults we were often left to ourselves if the teacher was out, which was often. After one summer break, I started getting auto-billed for monthly classes without having attending any classes, signed any agreement for them to continue using my credit card information, or communicated with me at all. It was resolved after I complained, but that it happened at all is extremely concerning. The studio is small and "cozy," but lots of mismatched decor. The classes are affordable, but I've found another studio in Loveland to offer similar quality classes with incredible organization and communication.

The intro series is a continuous series of 4 classes. It's really nice to have the same instructor and the same group of people in the class every week, which helps build confidence and camaraderie. We all got through the first class in slightly awkward silence, but by the fourth class we were laughing, joking around, and dancing freely. Luckily our instructor, Molly, was super lighthearted and funny, and she made everyone feel much more at ease. I definitely left each class with sore arms. Pole dancing is no joke! And as someone with no dance background, it was sometimes difficult to not look totally awkward transitioning between moves.
