On the phone they told me I can come in for a pregnancy test and then get an ultrasound if the dating makes sense. Even in the beginning of the appointment they knew I was undecided and said they'll help me get an ultrasound TODAY but as they saw that I seem more comfortable keeping the baby they made up some lies like "ultrasound technician is not around today so we can schedule you for another time". Then I said ok schedule me for another time. Then they said "you should go to your OB we can't schedule you". Which is complete BS because they only want you to see baby and hear heartbeat if you are seriously leaning towards an abortion in the hopes may change your mind. My husband and I took time off work to take a 45 minute trip to the area and we got absolutely nothing out of it. It was extremely unprofessional the way they handled the situation. We are not dumb. It was so obvious they decided in the middle of the appointment they didn't want to give us the ultrasound even though we are eligible based on the dates. If they truly were willing to help everyone, they would have at least tried to book me for an ultrasound another day. Their refusal to do that shows clearly that they have no interest in helping us and just completely wasted our time and added a lot of stress for us in the middle of a difficult time. Now walking out of this clinic we are still unsure and don't know what to do next. Their heart is as large as the great outdoors and their concern for the health and welfare of women and their unborn babies, as well as the fathers is unprecedented. They leave the decisions to the families AFTER telling them the truth. It's known as "informed consent". Surely everyone should know if the action they are considering (abortion) is dangerous (higher rate of breast cancer, danger of infertility, etc) AND - better than most other groups - they offer alternatives -- emotional support, housing, government programs, medical assistance, etc. I've had no concerns to turn to them when I find a person in crisis. Because of their reputation, I also have no problem obaining HUNDREDS of donations for them (everything from socks to money, etc.) I only wish we could trust all organizations (& the government) as much as I trust them.
