I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Zhang, a physician with New Hope who actively listened and did not stray from his commitment to tailoring my needs to meet my fertility goal. Dr. Zeitoun and the OR team supported me in numerous ways and were extremely punctual and professional; They always made the time to promptly respond to my emails and return my calls when I had questions. The receptionist Toni, is consistently engaged and diligent when it comes to client needs. The Billing team who always made sure I understood what I was charged for and any past allowances were carried over to my next treatment session. Instead, they took the time to go through early testing like bloodwork and semen analysis and actually encouraged us to keep trying naturally. We're so glad we listened, because we were able to naturally conceive our baby boy. Throughout that time, they were incredibly kind, empathetic, and supportive of our concerns. Now that we're trying for a girl, we've decided to go through an IVF cycle (though we haven't transferred an embryo yet), and once again the entire team has made us feel comfortable and cared for. Exactly what we were looking for. She practices out of a cozy office in park slope, which couldn't be further from a sterile, impersonal OBGYN exam room. Throughout the pregnancy Gina devoted lots of time at every appointment to answering our questions, not only about medical concerns, but also about how we were preparing emotionally for labor and postpartum with our new baby and our extended families. We always appreciated her wholistic approach and her measured, rational advice based on a solid medical understanding, her own personal experience and her appreciation for time-honored midwifery practices. This was our first birth and it ended up progressing much faster than any of us expected. We had a harried drive from Brooklyn to the hospital in Manhattan in active labor. Gina was ready and waiting for us when we got there, and we were immensely reassured seeing a familiar and calm face. During the birth, Gina was fantastic at communicating what was going on and keeping the environment calm and positive. We had complications that involved bring in an OBGYN, but Gina remained in charge which gave us confidence that we were getting the best care possible. In the days after the birth, she checked in with us every day and not only took care of our physical well-being, but also provided sage advice on how to take care of our new baby, which set us up for success in those intense first days. Many of us spend the better part of our lives trying not to conceive, so the idea of trying to get pregnant can feel daunting. A friend had gone to Kindbody in LA, and like me, felt some stress about the ease of fertility. She did the "pulse assessment" that involved some blood work and an ultrasound. It's to give you an idea about where you stand with fertility, and your success rate based on a number of factors. I chose to do this too. And to be honest, it took me a few months to finally commit, but I'm happy I did. It started with a video call with Dr Lipkin. Her assistant, Katerina, messaged me on their platform (very easy to use), and even called 15min before the appt to make sure I had access to the appointment, etc. Dr Lipkin was very nice, answered all my questions, and helped me schedule an appointment to go for blood work and the ultrasound. Going to the Kindbody office in Flatiron was a pleasant experience. The office itself is really cute, kind of like a new age clinic. You don't see the doctor there, but they have a bloodwork technician and an ultrasound technician who you'll see. Bloodwork was easy, they did a great job. The ultrasound was painless, and as they do the ultrasound, they explain everything and show you as they do it. I even had a question related to a previous test, and the technician afterwards pulled up my file and answered all my questions. Really nice. About a week later, I had my follow up with Dr. Lipkin remotely. She went through all of my results and made me feel at ease. I also had some related (but unrelated) follow up questions for Dr Lipkin. It was really easy to message Dr. Lipkin via Katerina on their platform. Both my questions were answered within 30 minutes. Some reviews mention they were salsey and pushing IVF. I actually didn't find this to be true, this assessment cost me $99 out of pocket, and insurance covered the bloodwork and ultrasound. In fact, I actually found them to be considerate of cost and gave a thorough breakdown of what insurance covers. FYI they also have a men's fertility assessment!

They are still charging me for egg storage to eggs I…read morefrozen, transferred ownership of to someone else, then they refused to take possession & kindbody coming after me for the fees, and after all my written and phone contact over the years discharging the eggs they are still billing me. They owe me money yet are charging me for eggs I made clear years ago I don't want stored or to pay for as I did everything ever asked to remove them from my ownership.

For a doctor's office that is providing such sensitive services, you'd think they'd take the patients needs into account. You are having a medical procedure and cannot have your escort wait with you, they need to wait outside of the building.. The really ridiculous part of this is that you are waiting for HOURS. Just sitting with your thoughts. Nobody to talk to or comfort you. It was a terrible experience. The desk staff are okay. Not great but not terrible. The terrible part is the service. My appointment was at 9am, I wasn't seen until 1:30pm and then once you're called in, the process itself is about 1.5-2 hours. Again, the nurses once the procedure starts and ends were very kind and I wish I could rate them personally. I was recommended this facility by my gyn and I wish I did my own research. I wouldn't have ever gone here. I've gone through this with friends at other facilities and I've never experienced a wait this long. And, I was able to sit with them during their waiting periods. The chairs in the waiting room are small plastic chairs, they're so uncomfortable. You have pregnant women sitting in these uncomfortable chairs for HOURS. You also have pregnant women not eating or drinking for HOURS because of anesthesia. On the particular day I had the misfortune of being here, the staff ordered boxes of pizzas that were carried past all the pregnant women sitting hungry and thirsty in the waiting room. Yes they have to eat, but that was just rude. Overall I was extremely disappointed with this experience. This was my first time going through something like this and I feel like parkmed added to my trauma. I hope I'll never need to but I most certainly would never come back here and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Oh and my pain medicine somehow did not make it to the pharmacy so I had to purchase Tylenol that would've been covered by my insurance. And when I called the office, someone answered but I was told "the office is closed today" okay, thanks for nothing. Terrible terrible experience.

i wish for every parent the empowering, transformative birth I had with this practice--an…read moreexperience that should be a universal right but that is unfortunately a rarified privilege. i have early life medical trauma, as i imagine is common for many women and people of color. before my experience with Village Obstetrics, which took me as a late transfer at 36 weeks, i ranked childbirth as among my biggest fears. now it is among my most liberating and empowering experiences, all thanks to Dr. Worth, Dr. Mussalli, Lourdes, and Leanne. i have a genetic predisposition to hypertension and knew that preeclampsia and early induction were likely for my first birth. but i was committed to as natural a birth as possible, and, for brain and organ development purposes, to keep my baby gestating for as long as it was safe to do so. when i voiced these values to my previous doctor - a highly regarded OB in NYC - she stood over me and shouted in my face, while my bump was out and exposed, that I didn't have that option because I was a "geriatric." (I'm 36 years old.) I contacted Village Obstetrics the next day and, despite that it was a Saturday during her long-planned vacation, Dr. Worth called me the same day and spent two hours on the phone with me, and then texting and emailing over the weekend to follow up. every in-office experience was similar--Drs. Worth and Mussalli spent as much time as I needed during each appointment, and that indeed included some two hour visits. thanks not just to the doctors but also Lourdes and Leanne, the office feels nothing like a clinic (important for those with trauma) but more like a home, where one is cared for and valued as a human being. I never once felt like I had to be my own advocate, never once doubted whether the doctors were on my side--a too-rare experience in obstetrics (I've had prior pregnancy losses and have tried out my share of doctors). my baby was born on her due date at 40 weeks; her birth was safe and smooth, and we were both healthy and discharged 24 hours after birth. any other practice would have forced me into induction at 37 weeks, but Drs. Worth and Mussalli worked with me to balance the risks against the benefits for *my particular pregnancy*-- a refreshingly humane approach in an inhumane world far too concerned with reading statistics and warding off liability. it's worth noting that Dr. Mussalli--who more than overcame my distrust of male doctors-- is one of the only high-risk doctors who still handles deliveries himself, and I was lucky to have him at mine. after my baby was born, we encountered a not-uncommon complication because my placenta was not detaching on its own. i've had friends who experienced this and had to be separated from their babies and taken to the OR and undergo full anesthesia. but Dr. Mussalli, pro that he is, manually handled it with zero side effects in the delivery room, without disrupting our precious golden hour-- a gift for which I will forever be grateful. i trust no one else to bring my children into the world. i understand the finances here may be prohibitive. but if you have the means--as someone who (literally) grew up hungry and counting pennies--i can assure you that Village Obstetrics is more than worth it.
