Just called them and setup a same day appointment. Not exactly cheap but worth the money. The masseuse they called is Nicole and she has magic hands. Definitely request her for a session. I have been driving from Hilo to Kona and stopped by Mauna Kea for sunrise. By the end of the day, my back hurts so bad that I really need some relief. I asked for a 75 mins deep tissue. I had gone to another hot yoga session in the morning at the teacher humbled me in so many ways. My body just didn't feel right after my last session so I searched for another. Unfortunately most locations on the Big Island don't work on Sunday's and with the new restrictions, fewer and fewer were available. Luckily, I was persistent and found Body Rhythms near the back of the suggested places on Yelp and they still had appointments late in the afternoon. Setting up the appointment was easy peasy. A quick phone call and I was in. The only tough part was deciding which type of massage and for how long. Ok, not so difficult, but had to use my brain a bit to look over all their options. A short 15 minute drive and I was walking up the steps to a Victorian style house. I was greeted by Karen, my therapist. She showed me the restroom and then to the room the treatment would take place in. The moment Karen started, I knew I was in good hands and had made an excellent choice. I was jello in a matter of minutes and almost fell completely asleep. She had verified the style and the pressure and it was all exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, all good things must end and my time was up. After dressing I was met in the lobby by Karen and Kush who helped check me out. I booked a mini package of a 60 min massage and 30 min facial. The place is very small but clean. The Massage was with David. ( I think I was so blissed out I forgot names) the massage was wonderful. He paid lots of attention and to my neck shoulders and upper back since I told him those were the areas I was hurting. The walls here are extremely thin, so while you're trying to relax from your massage, you can hear every creek and noises/talking from outside. My gf chose this place because it was so highly rated, but was only left disappointed and physically hurt. I'm guessing the positive reviews are from their massages, but their waxing services are not it. The entire session was unusually long from what it normally is at other spas and extremely painful. To top it all off she still had pieces of wax on her body after leaving. Very unprofessional. Here we are a day later and her skin is peeling and a bit red (which has never happened with a wax before). I hate to give a bad review but it wasn't a good experience from start to finish. The facility is very small but clean. I was looking for a place to get a massage as I am recently new to this area. I just had a baby and my back has been killing me. I booked via yelp since it offered that service. I thought the prices sounded decent ($120 for 90 min hot stone)- not the actual price come to find out. When I arrive they told me I requested a male. No where on the request form was there even a place to do that. I was confused but luckily there was a woman therapist available. The therapist was very nice and walked me into one of the two rooms. The room was very basic. It's almost like an old office space. I could hear cars going by, people in the reception area and basically any noise the entire time. I am a new mom and I never do anything for myself so it was a bummer. I have had many massages before as I am in the hotel industry for sales and marketing, we often recommend spas. This was not a normal relaxing experience or a place I would recommend. The hot stones were super hot. I had to tell her multiple times it was burning me. The stones also didn't seem like a seamless experience as she was constantly digging and clunking the stones. It was hard to relax from my back and arms literally feeling like they were on fire to the constant noise. When the massage was over the receptionist was missing so I had to wait a bit to pay. Not the most professional. When I did pay she gave me a price of $157. I thought that was weird but I thought maybe I read it wrong on the price sheet. I reviewed my confirmation and sure enough it said $120. I text the number that confirmed the appointment and she said the prices changed. I showed her a screenshot of my confirmation and she said she would refund me the difference but that price has not been updated on yelp and please use the main website to book in the future. I'm sorry, do not offer a booking tool if you aren't going to update it. The response should have been I'm sorry we must have forgot to update that, thank you for notifying us, we will refund you the price difference. It's been 6 days and there has been no refund. Lastly, when I got home, I had red burn marks all over my body. I don't have sensitive skin and this shouldn't have happened. Luckily they weren't too bad and went away in 24 hours. I would skip this place in the future. For the price point, you are paying a good amount of money for a noisy room with thin walls and not even a spa experience. read more

Hands down the best massage I've ever had. I have sciatica issues (see physical therapy review) and after a lot of traveling, it started to act up. I had a old spa finder gift card rotting away in my email so i decided to see if I could hit two birds, one stone and find a place that would accept it. That's how I stumbled upon body rhythms. I booked a 90 min sports massage for the next day and was matched with Preston. To say Preston knew his stuff would be an understatement. In that 90 min massage, he was able to significantly alleviate my sciatica and loosened some knots in my shoulder and neck to boot. I ended up booking 2 more times with him while on vacation and am glad I did. As a spa, body rhythms is fine. Simple but pleasant and offer heated stones and aromatherapy for all massages. read more

Booked a couples massage for the wife and I last Saturday and had a very nice experience. They started off with a foot bath and quick foot massage. Then we had our massages that included hot stones. I was a bit sunburned from going snorkeling the day before but surprisingly it didn't really bother me during the massage. John and his staff are great. Body Rythyms isn't the cheapest massage on the island but you get a good massage and get a lot for your money. Give them a try. really wish I knew if the lady who gave the massage was Darlene or daisy (blonde haired woman working sep 11). The massage was so wonderful that I felt as if I was in a state of shock afterwords. I deal with sciatic pain and the masssuse was able to address all areas that gave me pain. From my arms, hands, back, butt, legs, feet, she hand managed to work out all tension. It was damn near life changing. It was like she knew every single area that hurt and how to relieve it perfectly. She asked if I fell asleep during the massage, but I just had my eyes closed. I closed my eyes to focus on relaxing my body and maximizing the massage to its fullest. I was at peace. I left and for two hours after I finally felt the relief of not having that tension and stress in those areas, and while I felt the massage was very expensive, I would pay it again in a heartbeat to experience that state of relief and bliss again. We started the massage and within 5 minutes the guy is picking up and answering his phone while giving me a massage. Their spa is located on the second floor of of the "Lighthouse" on Palani. There is parking in the back of the building-- but missed the narrow driveway on my first try The lighthouse is a quaint building with a Beauty Salon on the first floor and around the side are steps up to the Spa. The interior and furnishings are well-appointed and the massage beds comfy. Daisy will find all the knots and work them out and and give you a much better outlook on your day. Why would I book a Swedish, if I've only ever had deep tissue? I booked a package so it's not like I'm trying to save on a $20-$50 difference here, and would have happily upgraded. Nice try to mitigate the lackluster service. Pretty clear point on the fact that my masseuse just didn't deliver, is that my BF did NOT have that problem. A relaxation massage does STILL include improving circulation to trouble areas, not skin stroking. I have NEVER had a problem anywhere else with a Swedish massage and yet other reviewers have commented on this. And no, they did NOT reach out to me, only "responded" on Yelp and Tripadvisor to defend themselves. I was never contacted about my reviews, they only responded TO my reviews. Owner also tried to say I was late on Tripadvisor and that's why I heard the loud client. (15 minutes cause it's hidden from main street and I couldn't find it, and I called to let them know) Look, it was a 2 hour long package and the woman arrived early for her appt. I was only 30 minutes into the whole thing, so the disruption STILL would have been in the middle of my session. And they DID ask me to tip $20 on the hour. I thought that was reasonable, but worth commenting because a lot of people don't like surprises. I don't know why the owner is recanting when that WAS what I was told. Some syncing is needed with the staff, it seems. After that huge disappointment, I got a great house call massage (Swedish again) from Coconut Girls, days after to get the relaxation I wanted. I highly recommend them instead! Original Review: I booked a reservation after seeing great reviews on Trip Advisor, especially after seeing one from an athlete who was worked on by one of their masseuses after Ironman. Well, I was disappointed. I booked a Nenewed Spirit for two people. It's a 2 hours long package that includes a salt scrub, hot oil scalp massage and an hour long massage. The salt scrub was lovely, and certainly the best part of the package. It felt great to get all the dry skin from the previous days scoured off! The hot oil scalp massage was very lackluster and actually doesn't get out of your hair easily even with the shampoo I used in their shower (to wash off salt) The scalp massage itself felt featherlight and could have been relaxing if there was more pressure. As a previous reviewer had said, I couldn't get any pressure. It felt like someone was just stroking my back in very light circular motions and none of my knots were addressed either. I did ask for more pressure, but the difference was indecipherable. I'm not really sure why they had us fill out the diagrams where we were feeling trouble spots if none were going to be worked on. It was relaxing to have the oil slathered on, but my shoulder was still sore and knotty as ever. It was a long session, an hour of scrubbing and head massaging before the massage itself... perhaps she was tired? Maybe they should have an assistant or something to do scrubs and minor massages like scalp massages to save energy for the main massage. My boyfriend's massage was excellent, according to him, so I think it's a hit or miss. Also, a huge downside, I was startled out of my restful reverie by a customer coming through the door and loudly exclaiming she was early for her appointment. She continued to talk without any interruption from the receptionist, so you'll hear every conversation. Not quite so relaxing. hint: look for the big light blue lighthouse building on Palani Rd. First and foremost, if you're looking for a "spa" experience, as in one you would expect a high end resort, that is not what you will get here. This is a tiny little, no frills place and I thought it was perfectly awesome! Thanks to a very generous friend of mine, I was given a $150.00 gift certificate to this establishment for my birthday. I was in dire need of a massage so I decided to research the comments about the therapists here. After reading so many positive reviews about Daisy and how she knows how to give a good deep tissue massage without feeling the pain, normally associated with that type of massage, I decided to book the 90 minute session and I requested Daisy, via their website. I found the online booking experience very easy to navigate, which isn't always the case. I was also pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from Daisy to let me know that she saw that I had requested her but my requested appointment time was past her shift so I would be with a different therapist. I asked if she had any appointments for the same day, during her shift, to which she replied she did. I told her I had read so many positive reviews about her deep tissue work and I really wanted her to be the one who worked on me. When I walked into this tiny establishment I was greeted by my name with a big smile from Daisy. I appreciated that she introduced herself and shook my hand. Her energy and the vibe in the reception area was really nice. There's a giant water feature at the reception desk which I found to be quite pleasing, not only to the eye but to the ears as well. You start out with a lovely foot bath filled with some fabulous smelling salts, which was a nice touch while I filled out the questionnaire. Not only did Daisy take the time to read what I had filled out, she took the time to discuss in depth what my expecations were and what had caused me the back and neck pain I was experiencing. You would think that would be a given, however, I've been to many spa's where that wasn't the case. Turns out Daisy and I shared 2 common passions; cats and food! She considers herself a foodie and her 3 cats are all rescues.....UMMM....DITTO! I told her she and I were sisters from another mother, as she's also Asian. LOL True to the comments I read, her massage was incredible! I forgot that my session included hot stones so I appreciated her announcing when she was about to use the stones. She checked in frequently to see how the pressure was and if everything was okay. I don't recall ever talking as much while I got a massage, as I did with Daisy. She's so easy to talk to and she stayed totally focused on the task at hand. Patrick was simply awesome - he literally gave one of the best massages I've ever had. He took his time with each areas, wasn't in any rush, changed pressure as per my request and was highly skilled. The lady who gave my wife the massage (she forgot her name) also did an excellent job as per my wife. It was my wife's first massage (she is ticklish and was hesitant about the whole idea) and she came out very happy and satisfied with this experience. Would highly recommend them.
