All three times, Lawrence was "my guy." He was extremely nice and helpful, and never acted impatient with my uncertainty. Although trees were far higher priced than I had hoped, I read about the increased cost in the newspaper and I don't blame Mr. Jingles. Their competitor's prices were similar (higher at a Juno Beach tree lot I visited later). In any case, Lawrence really made the experience go better than expected. I hope his employers take note of what a gem Lawrence is as far as customer service goes. I'll be back next year!

The 100 Foot Christmas Tree located in Old School Square is always on my holiday must see list. The…read morelighting of the tree has taken place around the end of November or the first part of December, every single year ever since 1992! Santa always personally shows up and it attracts thousands of people every year officially launching the holiday season in Delray Beach. Every year on January 1st the tree and carousel are dismantled and packed away for next year's fun. The 3,000 branches of the 100 foot treeree are decorated with 39,000 ornaments and the top is crowned with an 18 foot high star. At night it is lit up with 15,000 LED lights. The city sets out photo opportunities around the tree and you can walk inside the tree and see replicas of four historic buildings in Delray Beach, The Sundy House, Cornell Museum, Spady Museum, and the Delray Train Depot. Each building has a holiday scene reflecting the historic building it is in. The Sundy House has animated reindeer and elves, the Cornell Museum features penguins, the Spady Museum has children singing carols, and the Delray Train Depot has a train display. While it is free to visit the tree a $1 donation is suggested. The city also sells $3 tickets at the Gingerbread House for ice skating and the holiday carousel set up outside. Visiting the tree is a great family outing and there is a parking garage next door and many great restaurants, ice cream shops, shops, and art galleries within walking distance along Atlantic Avenue. You can make a whole afternoon or evening of visiting the famous 100 Foot Christmas tree.

There is limited parking across from the homes or you can do a drive by. The Christmas decorations span several homes and include inflatables, lights, tunnels you can walk through, music, snow, and custom made decorations. There are even special photo ops like a swing with a Merry Christmas backdrop and a train you can sit in. Be sure to head down the road a little bit further where there is another ornately decorated home on the right side. Grab the family and head over here for free holiday fun. It is perfect for all ages and will put you in the jolly spirit. The lights on 5th Avenue will be running from 6 to 9 PM nightly until December 31st.

I have seen a lot of holiday displays synchronized to lights but this was my favorite. The entire house and front lawn is covered in lights along with a snowman, car, two trees, and baby Yoda. The production is top notch. I like how they mixed up the music with pop hits and holiday music. I especially loved the Queen sequence and the song from the Greatest Showman. The show is free but they were collecting donations for upgrades to the Jupiter Farms Park little league baseball field. Only a few people were here and there was plenty of parking around the house. This one wins the top prize for high tech Christmas display from me. I could have sat there watching all night.
