My son has a 2018 Subaru Legacy in excellent mechanical condition that he will be driving until June when he sells it to move north for a new job where he won't need a car (welcome to the Big Apple). HOWEVER, backing out of a parking space a few months ago, the front bumper cover caught on the parking stanchion and pulled the bumper out of alignment. He had a quick fix some months back when a mechanic could snap the bumper cover back in place...but like all things with age and wear the bumper cover started to pull away from it's clips. I am new to town and did a bit of research and Eur-Am was close to where we were that afternoon and there were (for good reason) rave reviews. We went to Eur-Am near closing on Thursday and I thought (what do I know) that fifteen minutes and a kind and patient owner would give me quick estimate. Instead, Ernie spent a few moments on hands and knees examining the bumper cover from underneath and then a half hour explaining the way in which the bumper cover might be fixed - from replacing a few plastic clips to hold the cover on, to replacing the bumper cover altogether, and the primer and paint process that might be required. With model and VIN number in hand he showed me the computer software rendering of the bumper cover and layers beneath and the parts that might be necessary. Next morning he hunted down the availability of Subaru parts - not expensive but there is still a supply problem (he called it "sketchy") for Subaru parts. And then, most honestly, he advised that since my son would be selling the car soon we'd be just as well off NOT fixing the bumper (and incurring not only the expense of repair but the expense of a rental car and the inconvenience of time lost in the process) as he guessed that bumper cover repaired or not we might still get the same offer from an eager CarGuru or CarMax dealer. I can't speak to the work in repair (but it would appear any number of MB and Audi cars were on the lot in some sort of disassembly) but I can speak to his (and Eur-Am's corporate) integrity. Even if you just came in for an estimate, but never had it repaired. Simply walk in and get a CARFAX damage report over a Minor Dent. I discovered a small dent on my car that occurred while it was parked. I went to Shalom auto body for a repair estimate. The estimate was outrageous for such a small dent, so I decided not to have it repaired. Today I found out that it was reported to CARFAX. There was no accident, no police report, no insurance claim, and no repair was done. This auto shop was the only place I went for an estimate. I highly recommend to stay away from this shady business. I wish I had never stepped my foot in there.

Owner took multiple pictures of the car, the VIN number, year, make, model and more. He also asked for my physical address to keep on his records, not my email address. All they did was taking a bunch of pictures, asking questions, requested my information, and lastly asked me to step into the office and fill out paperwork. I didn't have time to fill out paperwork. I also don't understand why he would need information such as my address before he was even hired. I left my name and phone number and the guy said he will text an estimate shortly. He never did. While this shop has done work for us before, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The owner admitted he could not provide a quote and instead pushed us to file through insurance. When the insurance company told us Collision was out of network and advised us to use another dealership, the shop refused to release the car and demanded $1,000 in fees. The charges were listed as photos, storage, towing, and administrative fees, but: We had already paid a third-party towing company. The car was only in their possession for 24 hours. No services or repairs were completed. No paperwork was signed. No fees were mentioned in advance. Just a month earlier, the same car was kept there for two weeks without any storage or admin fees. I'm glad the shop didn't get our business, and the insurance company confirmed that their behavior is typical of shops trying to push unnecessary fees when they don't win a customer. This felt exploitative, unprofessional, and greedy. I strongly advise others not to use this shop.

Friends of mine tried to push it back into position but it didn't cooperate. So I had to find an auto repair shop in this day of shortages of everything. The first six shops told me that, because of their backup of cars waiting parts, they weren't taking on new customers. At first I tried to keep my options to large shops which I thought would give me a fighting chance but that didn't happen. I tried Primo! Auto Collision on a guess and was pleasantly surprised to talk to its owner who was confident he could get the parts for me. Within a week he had gotten a new bumper but when it came in it was dented. Since many bumpers are plastic today he didn't want to try to smooth it out since it would already have stress built into it and would last like that just a short time. We waited six weeks but it was worth it. My car bows looks as new as when I first bought it! The paint was meticulously matched, everything on the body near the bumper had its paint blended and smoothed to be continuous and where anything needed sanding or touching it was accomplished professionally.
