Place needs better maintenance as bathrooms are always wreaking of urine especially the kids family bathroom. Why do we have a children's bathroom with no proper way for children to reach the sink located inside the toilet? Staff at the salon also has a bad attitude. For such a high end gym, customer service is lacking 100%.

We pay nearly $900 a month for our memberships and our three kids' swim classes, so we've always expected -- and usually received -- respectful treatment. This past Sunday, my kids were running late for their swim class. When they arrived, my wife rushed them inside so they wouldn't miss more time, planning to return immediately to the front desk to scan in. We were even planning on enrolling our youngest daughter to swim class that day as well. My wife also had our Nanny with us as helper who was also considering enrolling her own daughter in the gym and its programs, so she joined us to see how everything worked. Unfortunately, what she witnessed ended up convincing her not to sign up at all. At the front desk, the receptionist, Sharon, stopped my wife very abruptly and insisted she scan in first -- despite her clearly explaining that the kids were late and she would come right back. She said "I don't care" and even made her pull all kids out of their class and bring them back to the front desk just to scan in. When she explained that our family has been a member for 8 years and fully intended to follow the process, she responded with, "If you've been coming here this long, you should know how to follow the rules," followed by, "Maybe you should arrive on time next time." Our Nanny was shocked and even asked us why we pay so much here just to be treated this way. My wife asked to speak with a manager -- something we've never done anywhere -- and Cheryl, the manager, came out. Unfortunately, she immediately sided with Sharon and made them feel unwelcome rather than heard. The entire interaction left them feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and it genuinely made my wife question whether they were being treated differently for racially motivated reasons that should never play a role in customer service. In eight years, we have never had an issue with anyone at this club, but this was our first time interacting with these two staff members, and the experience was deeply disappointing for both me and my family. Sadly, Lifetime has lost a long-term customer -- and a potential new one.

Initially, they said they did not honor One Pass even though they were still enrolled with One Pass and listed as a participating studio. After I contacted One Pass and this location received a call from One Pass, they reluctantly allowed me to take the 4 classes per month for the fees I paid monthly to One Pass, as agreed. Last month, I received notice from this Club Pilates location indicating that they will no longer be participating with One Pass. Although this back and forth is off-putting, I took the 4 allotted classes each month. I found the classes mostly useful and appreciated that the space is clean and the instructors are pleasant. I will decide whether to sign up on my own or move to one of the other facilities further away from home that have opted to remain in the One Pass program. Based on some of the other reviews on Yelp, signing on for a membership at the East Meadow studio may unfortunately cause me more trouble than it's worth.

Whether it was because I don't live in East Meadow or something else entirely--perhaps even my name--I'm not sure. But the response I received when simply trying to sign up for a workout class was incredibly rude and off-putting. I've never encountered such an uncomfortable experience just trying to join a fitness program.

Decent amount of cardio equipment but if you come during the busy times (after work, after 10am on the weekend) you might have a tough time getting anything. My favorite part is the cardio mezzanine which overlooks the gym floor. Each cardio machine has a TV with cable and even a channel devoted entirely to watching the playroom where kids can be babysat while their parents work up a sweat- made especially for overprotective mothers. The classes are decent- I used to love Sonia's Pilates class (you could almost never get a spot to put your mat) but I stopped going when she started talking more and teaching less. Also Buddy's Cardio Funk is a great laugh, fun way to work out. I have taken 2 spin classes- one with Sonia who is a drill sergeant and Merri who's a lot of fun but none of them match up to the teacher I had in DC (she made spin actually FUN, which is nearly impossible). For those of you who like protein shakes and the like- there's a small bar where they make your pleasure after your workout. Water and other drinks as well as granola and powerbars are sold at the front. All in all a 2.5 but I'll give em a 3. They certainly work hard enough for it. also make a point to thank Darren (I believe that's his name) he's the custodian. He's a doll and makes everything so clean with a smile on his face. He deserves recognition.
