Liken's is condescending towards women. I suffered my entire childhood with what I found out in college was IBS and later developed into Sinus Tachycardia. He would tell my parents it was all in my head and offered no treatment other than humiliation. As an adult, I was able to find another doctor to help figure out what was going on, prescribe medication and a treatment plan to get my symptoms under control. When I returned from college my mother was complaining of gaining weight suddenly and knew something was off. She had no energy, as if becoming anemic. Likens told her she was just getting fat. That's what lady's do.After seeing him interviewed on television for a segment on how prayer and jesus heals, I implored her to see another Doctor who would actually take the effort to run tests. That she was not helpless, that Liken's was a quack and she needed a second opinion. She discovered she had been suffering from a thyroid condition Hashimoto's Syndrome. She has lost weight, has energy and is much healthier now that she knows what is going on and how to treat it. Liken's called my mother, insulted that she dare ask to transfer her medical records to a new primary. She felt that he was trying to intimidate her and bully her to remain with his practice.
