This is a really cool play place for kiddos! Perfect for birthday parties, play dates and a safe haven to have your kiddos let loose! My daughter loved the jungle gym, where she could pretty much monkey around. She's 7 and I could tell she is starting to outgrow that. There are several little playrooms and even one for the tiniest tots. Play kitchens, an inflatable and little knick knacks are everywhere. There is so much space where they can probably add more educational toys because that seemed to be lacking. The party room is fairly large and clean. It's located in the town of Gonzales, not too far of a drive from the Baton Rouge city center. Make sure to check 'em out for your active kiddos!

    Playtime for the twins !

Love this place ! It's a great alternative to a outside playground or a playroom at home. Creative minds get unleashed here lol ! They have a play structure for small tots and a HUGE structure for older children. Then there's the mid sized bounce house. There are legos and a table with mega blocks for the little ones. They have a spiral spinning circle on the wall and a magnetic face maker. There's a child size connect four and soft blocks. They have a play store with carts and a checkout, too cute ! The magnetic wall is so cool, you can make a connected course with tubes, ramps and balls. They have another corner for small babies with age appropriate toys with a safety gate along with a rocker outside the gate for nursing or naptime. Then next to that room is a stage with play clothes, a puppet theater with curtain and LOTS of books. Something for every child. The offer snacks and drinks for a small fee as well as a membership for one or multiple children. They currently charge about $11 a child with unlimited in and out play for the day until closing. The weekends are for birthdays/patties for a fee. I'm so glad Rebecca and my girlfriends knew about this place !

    The massive climbing structure!

Excellent! Superb! Fantastic! I can't say enough great things about this local gem. At ten bucks per child for open play, you can't beat it! There are so many interesting areas to keep little ones engaged. The giant climbing structure is the most obvious feature when you enter, but there is also a massive jump-jump, a home center, music center, puppet theatre, library, infant area, shopping plaza, and science station. A small selection of snacks are available for purchase, but you are also welcome to bring in your own picnic. There is a large party room for birthday celebrations. This is a wonderful place for children to explore and play!

I am extremely disappointed by both the behavior I witnessed at this park and the staff's response…read moreto a very serious safety incident involving my 4-year-old daughter. There appeared to be a large birthday party group at the park, despite my understanding that parties are only permitted through official bookings on Friday nights. Throughout the day, several children from this group were cutting in line for the slides, pushing smaller children, and generally disrupting other families trying to enjoy their visit. My daughter and my 11-year-old nephew were among the children being pushed. After addressing the children myself and being ignored, I reported the behavior to a lifeguard. Unfortunately, things escalated into something far more serious. While my daughter was standing in shallow water showing me that she could finally touch the bottom and walk by herself, a girl who appeared to be around 7 or 8 years old suddenly grabbed her and held her underwater without any warning or reason. I was only a short distance away and immediately rushed to pull my daughter out of the water. She came up crying, coughing, and trying to get water out of her lungs while asking why the girl had done that to her. As any parent can imagine, it was absolutely terrifying. Had I not been right there, the outcome could have been much worse. I immediately reported the incident to the manager on duty. To my surprise, I was told that they weren't sure what could be done without knowing where the other child's parents were. I found that response completely unacceptable given the seriousness of what had just occurred. A child intentionally holding another child underwater should be treated as an urgent safety issue, not something to be brushed aside. I then went to the front office and was told that my contact information would be passed along to upper management and that I would receive a call. As of now, I have not heard from anyone. I also noticed a lack of enforcement of park policies throughout the day, including behavior issues and attire that seemed inappropriate for a family-oriented facility. Most concerning, however, is that a child was allowed to remain in the park after intentionally placing another child in danger. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for young children, and this was not harmless horseplay. I hope management takes incidents like this more seriously in the future and improves both supervision and staff response. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this park to other families.

We have been here many times and we love it. I love how it's small and not usually overly crowded…read more There's a snack bar, lots of liners, 2 main slides, and a splash area and kid area for the littles. You can do bday parties and a lazy river. Fun for the family!

My wife booked a few nights in Tickfaw state park, sight unseen, to be more or less in the vicinity of New Orleans, a plantation tour, and a swamp boat tour that we had booked months in advance. As it turned out, we actually enjoyed this state park stay more than our visit to New Orleans! The state park entrance is actually at the back of a neighborhood of sorts, on a narrow two-lane road that cuts away from the highway at a weird angle. Once inside the park proper, visitors are treated to beautiful swamps, complete with cypress trees, Spanish moss, and all the critters you would expect to find here. The campground we enjoyed had full hook ups, a small wooden deck, and a long back-in pad for our trailer. There was also a resident raccoon who kept us honest about locking things up at night, and securing coolers and food. Tickfaw state park features long boardwalks with railings, that afford visitors beautiful hikes in different parts of the park through different kinds of trees and plants. Unfortunately, many of these were still damaged in the summer of 2022 from the previous year's Hurricane Ida that blew through southern Louisiana and surrounding areas. The only trail that was not affected by this was the one without a boardwalk, so we enjoyed a hike through beautiful pines that went down to the river. Despite most of the trails being closed and damaged, we still enjoyed ourselves here, and had a good time. In the evening, I enjoyed casting topwater lures in on the cypress knees and trees, and caught & released several big bowfin... A fish that is sort of a cross between a catfish a bass, and a pit bull I suppose. I'm not sure when we will be back through this part of the world, but Tickfaw State Park is definitely a place that I would stay again: off the beaten path but close enough to where you want to be, peaceful and quiet, and the kind of southern serene that helps a SoCal guy like me to slow down and enjoy life a little bit.

The nature center has a lot to read about the area and the things you will see in the area. The guy working was friendly, very informative. Everything seemed well organized.
