Prior to the fireworks show, there were food and drink vendors, activities for kids, and free watermelon at the UCO campus. Don't forget to check the libertyfest website for times and details. We ate dinner before going, and I'm glad we did because I only saw a few vendors: 2 food, 1 ice cream, 1 snow cone. The free watermelon was cool and sweet, perfect on a hot night. There were so many people at the UCO campus at 8:30pm that we decide to leave, re-park outside the campus, and watch the fireworks show from a distance to avoid getting stuck in traffic. The view from across the street was still beautiful. Someone had their radio tuned to the local station so we could hear the music synchronized to the fireworks. The station was mentioned on the libertyfest website so don't forget to check. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket.

You can also learn about the five Land Runs in Oklahoma, how OKC managed to become the state Capitol, famous gangsters like Belle Starr, and so much more. The Museum is a cool escape from the hot weather, and if you are looking for some cool state gifts, you will find them here.

It also offers detailed descriptions on how these people lived, what they did to achieve the land, the participants in the rush, and overall outlining the very details that achieved the early parts of Oklahoma settlement. The museum itself is very interactive. It is laid out very nicely and you could easily spend 2 to 3 hours in her going through everything if you took your time. There is a cost to enter the museum varying from children to senior pricing. The 1970s building that occupies the museum is connected building connected to the Carnegie library next door that was established in 1908.

We played Augusta - fun course, average hole lengths, busy, but not busy enough to slow your play. Their clubhouse isn't as big/nice as Cimarron's (price is the same), but it was still a refreshing change of scenery. I will probably stick with Cimarron for Guthrie golfing, but would still recommend Augusta! Just make sure to bring an extra sleeve of balls :)
