Before you even step inside, you're greeted by an impressive collection of aircraft, including an F-4 Phantom II, A-10 Warthog, F-15EX Eagle II, and the iconic F-104 Starfighter mounted in a dramatic vertical climb. I probably spent as much time outside taking photos as I did inside! The museum itself is clean, well organized, and filled with exhibits covering aviation, space exploration, and the remarkable career of Oklahoma native General Thomas P. Stafford. Whether you're a military veteran, aviation enthusiast, or simply curious about America's achievements in flight and space, there's something here to enjoy. Even if you're just traveling Historic Route 66, this is a stop that's absolutely worth making. Plan on spending at least two hours--more if you enjoy reading the exhibits and taking plenty of photos like I did. A first-class museum and one of Oklahoma's hidden gems. Highly recommended!

It's a shame this place doesn't top many Oklahoma "to-do" lists. It appeared online after some deep digging of things we could do when en route to the Great Salt Plains. In the end, turns out we could've solely made a day trip around this place and it would've been a summer weekend well spent. Inside you'll find taxidermy, saddles, movie memorabilia, old dolls (only vaguely creepy) and a host of other artifacts. Even fossilized dinosaur poop (or so they say). The huge building is also home to a slew of western-themed "movie sets" which the owners use for their own productions, and which the public is free to explore on off days. Best of all is when you get to talking with the owners. They've got a wealth of information if you take a moment to chat. They've got rollicking tales from their old movie shoots- and best of all a heap of John Wilkes Booth conspiracy theories linked to the town of Enid and stemming from their days working on the crew of the "Unsolved Mysteries" series. You'll leave this place feeling a huge sense of affection for the great state of Oklahoma and the wonderfully quirky folks who inhabit it.

Be aware that if you use your ASTC Passport, it only covers two adults and two children, and it's a fairly expensive fee to get in. This museum is very large and has a couple dozen areas to explore, like weather, electricity, space, dinosaurs, fitness, pendulums, etc. The whole museum is hands-on, which our kids loved. Unlike other science museums, there are no actual artifacts here (like fossils), only replicas. Many of the exhibits are fairly outdated and many of the interactive components aren't working. It's also really dirty and worn-out. The foam blocks upstairs are filthy with brown gunk on them, and giant Battleship is also really yucky. It's almost a Chuck-E-Cheese meets science feel. It feels like the whole setup is unnecessarily spread out, but that may be to accommodate busy weekend or school crowds. One nice feature is that the planetarium is free, and has several different presentations throughout the day. Our family members that don't get motion sickness went and really enjoyed it. Best planetarium we've been to anywhere, and the presenter was excellent. In all, this was a mixed bag for us. Since the pace is so frenetic with things to do, and very light on information (like plaques or movies), we didn't feel like we learned much, but the kids did have a blast. I would definitely not pay full-price to come, but it was a nice place to spend a hot afternoon. For what it's worth, so far our favorite is the science museum in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Before he could leave, the volunteers said they were willing to stick around for a little while so we could walk through. The museum had many full size dioramas depicting life in American history. Each area was very interesting with unique artificats, many I have never seen before. This museum​ is not huge, but there is plenty to see and the opportunities for many conversations to be started. The volunteers were amazing! They answered our questions, chatted with us and very helpful. I recommend you stop in and say hello. You won't regret it!

They have all the cars, locomotives of all types and sizes, and a 19th century depot with gift shop. You can walk in most cars, get on a few engines and at certain times they offer rides. Not a very long one but cool for the kidos. They have different themes for the holidays as well as Halloween. At Christmas they have the Polar Express with story telling, hot chocolate and visits from Santa. It's priced reasonably. Whether your a train buff, or into the history or just want to see the trains it's a great place. Check for hours of operation.
