The middle section was where the fake fire place was at and where his gifts were being kept during the duration of the party. The back third was facing towards a cemetary. Like the other reviewer stated, it's not really creepy. It's actually really nice. The window was huge and I'm sure you could have put up some sort of curtains if you didn't want to see it, but I liked the fact that my guests were able to sit by the window. The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars...bc they lost my room setup sheet that I submitted when I made my final payment and when I did make my final payment, the person couldn't find my original contract. UGH!! Made me very nervous when I received a phone call the day before my event informing me that they didn't have my floor plan. I was kinda nervous they would cancel my event cause I thought they also didn't get my last payment. They need a better filing system. I think I might have gotten them some new clients! :-) Some of my friends liked it so much, they picked up the renting pamplet.

Adults find a place to get a GED or ESL tutoring at a very low cost and individuals struggling with addiction find the support they need. Every Saturday 50 seniors enjoy a free hot meal, music programs and companionship. Sports leagues fill the gym night after night and many neighbors find an affordable venue to host a party. The staff keeps the place looking great and are welcoming to all who enter. This is a place where the community comes together like no other venue in the area.

Yet this one tugged at my anger strings!…read more Things seemed to go off smoothly with Maura, she was kind and willing to show us around and take my credit card over the phone after charging me an extra $40 plus dollars so that they did not have to eat the fee. I was fine with that...support small business; however after my teenager daughter decided to change her mind and opt not to have a party here that is where the trouble began. At first Maura tells me its no problem, lets just move the money to August for my husband's birthday and they would retain 25%. All along I have nothing in writing stating what their policies are nor do I have a SIGNED CONTRACT obligating me to do anything. Sad what you get when you try to support "your people''. Five minutes later, she calls me back to say ''oh we cannot refund your credit card"....say what? You had no problem charging it. I told her I guess it boiled down to her not wanting to eat that fee. In any event, after she MAILS me a handwritten "business" check I proceeded to take it to HYPERION BANK (should be more aptly named HOOD BANK" they refused to cash the check because I was not an account holder. I told the branch manager it was a great way to NOT earn customers. Besides how many branches could they actually have. Not to worry, HOOD BANK will get a review too--my yelpers beware. So after my conversation with Maura today where she tries to snicker and make side marks I told her she needed to check her tone. She's telling me she's not making special exceptions for me, and she went out of her way just to do that. That her accountant gets confused when dates change-- makes you wonder who they have working their in the first place. Really it was more of an inconvenience than anything. I should have gone with my first instinct and found something else--live and learn. It seems like organizational issues are at play...someones feeding her bullshit in the back ground and she's trying to spit that shit up on me. Not hap'n cap'n! But, How do you not know what your banks terms are? She said ''NO BANK CASHES CHECKS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT CUSTOMERS'' Sounds like she needs a lesson in banking. For the record Maura since I could not get two words in edge wise, any bank that a check is drawn on will cash it-except for the hood bank you all deal with. Granted they make take a small fee but that is fine but for you to make up these "facts" as you go along are preposterous! So after back and forth of arguing with her about how she's doing me some type of favor, she folded and is putting the other half of my 1k down payment in the mail. Now I have two bullshit checks! Yay! Bottom line: DONT SIGN SHIT! Make sure they get it right and all the details are worked out before you book anything here, better yet find another spot.

Hip Philly's space is modern and chic looking. It makes for a great place to hold any event…read morereally. There's a huge free parking lot right across the street as well, so you don't have to worry about where you're going to find parking or if you'll have to walk 3 miles to get there. However, the best part about Hip Philly is the staff. They are all so helpful and nice! They'll really work with you to make your event custom and special. You can get dinner before or bring snacks, or not, bring wine or home made cocktails or beer or not, sit in a comfortable theater and watch GREAT improvisational theater... and feel like you spent your evening in a creative worthwhile way. (Don't forget your cups and wine key. They don't have that.) This is a great place with great creativity. Just get a bottle, get some friends, break out of your old routine and go. It's exceptional. Buy tickets ahead of time online, though. They were turning away people. It fills up. It's good. Trust me.

An armory is a perfect place for a DIY punk show, so why couldn't one host a flea market? The event was a success. There were plenty of vendors who were selling everything from old vinyl to thrift clothing to homemade artwork and more - all with a punk rock attitude. The venue itself is a-ok. It's obviously an old military armory, complete with a few military artifacts. I'm not sure if it's still used for military purposes, however its website advertises it can be rented out for corporate expos, tradeshows, weddings and other events. There's plenty of space for all these things, though not many bells and whistles. A note - the bathrooms are downstairs. I didn't see an elevator, so you may want to inquire about one if you think your guests may need it.
