We love lil peoples world in Kirkland. Both my daughters have loved attending. My youngest (17 months) still remembers the teachers in her infant class and will run into their arms smiling and giggling. My 3 yr old I didn't realize how much care and love her 2 yr old teacher put in until she commented one day that she didn't have to sit there rubbing her back for nap time and she was able to self soothe now. The teachers truly care that the kids feel cared for, safe and loved. The outdoor spaces are great and separated by age appropriate things and they do so many art projects as well. The staff are kind and understanding with parents when you call to check in if your child had a big feelings day and drop off was challenging. We love it there! Very nice staff, they are very warm and welcoming to my LO. My guy loves it when they have water day or bubble day or when the lizard guy comes to visit (not my cup of tea ). They just seem to really keep him engaged and it's never a fight during drop off. When we found LPW we had to go on their waiting list but they were very prompt and communicative when a spot opened up in their Waddler classroom for him. This is the WORST daycare I have ever encountered. If you are looking for a daycare, look elsewhere. My child was attending for less than a week before we encountered issues. Another child scratched and bit my child at least 4 times before the caregivers noticed anything. They informed me of the incident, but other than that they were utterly unhelpful, uncaring and unwilling to help or give further assistance or information. I'm a single mom so finding somewhere I feel comfortable dropping him off at was of paramount importance to me. I knew after the amazing tour Sam would be in good hands, but I didn't expect to gain a family. Truly life changing and I hope everyone gets to experience what I have found here. In the past 6 months, Sam has grown leaps and bounds. He is more behaved at home. He is learning things that unfortunately I did not have the capacity to fully teach him while working multiple jobs. We are part of the first generation LPW family. I myself was a kid who went to Kirkland LPW and now full circle have had all four of our children go there as well. Our 19, 14, 2.5 & now 1 year old have started in the infant room and will finish through school age. If we had to pick our 3 top favorite things about LPW they are the following: First, it's a family, this isn't your average corporate school looking for a weekly payment. This is a family owned, small yet mighty center (s) & they are invested in your kiddos. They grow with your kids, they become family. The best feeling when having to leave your kids in someone else's hands is that they will love and care for them as if they were their own. Secondly, the access to management. There has never been a time we were unable to talk to management about a concern, make a plan together, etc. There is constantly someone in the office ready to assist you with your questions, furthermore you can get ahold of the general manager just as easily. Lastly, the food - many centers don't supply food anymore and require parents to pack food. I am not the mom who loves to be in the kitchen, so knowing my kids have a huge variety of delicious, healthy, USDA approved food everyday is huge plus for us (everything is cooked fresh daily). In addition, we love the daily reports, we love the art projects home, we love the teachers, we love the weekly curriculum and learning opportunities and the summer field trip programs are a blast! It's been about 10 months since we enrolled our toddler at Lil People's World in Kirkland and we've been extremely happy we did! We're most impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, and caring mentality. We've noticed our 2.5 year old son take away so much positive learning from the wonderful team at LPW. We picked up a foster child at the very end of January 2022. The state suggested this daycare simply because there was an immediate opening. Our foster child has returned home and I am now expressing my opinion with this daycare here on social media. For they last six months I have held my tongue in regards to all the going's on in the Kirkland Lil' People's World. I would HIGHLY recommend finding somewhere else if you are shopping around for a daycare. This place is incredibly unorganized, uncaring and is has unprofessional as it gets. The anxiety I felt before walking into this daycare twice a day was simply indescribable. What will they be mad about, or complain about this time I would ask myself. Over the last six months we had at least 3 'incident reports' filled out in regards to our foster child. I clearly understand that unexpected incidents will happen with kids. It is not the incidents that I was concerned about, it is the way Lil' Peoples World handled those incidents. When picking up your child, they say "we will get you a copy of the incident report tomorrow". Tomorrow comes and you have to almost beg someone to get a copy of the report. One time I was told I would get a copy of an incident report the next day after our foster child was hit by another child. When I walked into the daycare at 7:29am Jami YELLED "you can't drop-off him until 7:30"! First off, some AWESOME customer service there Jami. I'm 58 years old, I don't need to be yelled at like I'm one of the children in the classrooms. Second, I came in early to get a copy of the incident report that you said I could get that morning and SHOCKINGLY it wasn't done. So I was the one that had to stand there and wait for you! The difference was, I didn't yell at you while I patiently waited. Stop yelling at people Jami. Smile more. Treat the parents like customers, because they are. The parents are not annoying things that make you actually have get up from your chair that you clearly love so very much. Stop sitting there glaring when parents come and go. Stand up, leave that chair and say "good morning" to everyone. Be the example for all the other wonderful people that work for you. There are eight parking spaces in this locations parking lot. One is taken up my their van. One is taken up by the dumpster. That leaves six spots. There are two employee cars parked in two of the spots each and every day. This leaves four spots. There is an employee's red van parked in one of the four remaining spots, so that leaves three spots. Three parking spaces for all the parents coming and going to drop off and pickup their children. I have seen (time after time after time) cars driving out of the parking lot and back in just hoping a space opens up. It is an insane business plan to have parking spaces for the employees but not for the parents. Again, treat the parents like CUSTOMERS because they are. YOU park out on the street, leaving more spaces for THE CUSTOMERS to get parking. Duh. We received an email on a Sunday night at around 9:22pm saying that a child had been sick in the classroom and we could not bring our Foster Child back until Thursday. They also would require a negative Covid test upon returning. Again the email came into us at 9:22pm on a Sunday night. That gave us three days that he couldn't go to Lil' People's World. We were more than upset and very inconvenienced. We had to completely rearrange our schedules at the very last minute. They felt it was ok to call on a Sunday night at 9:22pm but god forbid I walk into the daycare at 7:29am. One day, July 12, 2022, I walked in to pick up our Foster Child. He was standing in the middle of the classroom BALLING and was completely drenched. As wet as any person could be. His clothes were unbelievably soaked. I pick him up at the same time each day. What was I going to do with a DRENCHED little boy? The care-workers in the room seemed clueless and just laughed. I wasn't laughing. Once again, I wasn't laughing. The only real saving grace at this horrible daycare is Bobbi. Bobbi is always very helpful. Always so very personal. Always smiling. Always up and doing something. Always available. You can tell, she truly cares about every part of the organization. She does an incredible job. Other than a few employees, I truly believe that this daycare is absolutely clueless about how to operate in a world of providing customer service. Again, that is what the parents are....CUSTOMERS. I have mentioned to the State Of Washington that they should consider stop using this daycare. Based solely on my incredibly disappointing experience time after time after time. I left there today for the last time. The foster child is returning home after 6 months. I feel free. I never have to walk back in the again. For that....I'm forever thankful. read more

I would not recommend this location to anyone! They ask you to put your childs name on all bottles then they gave my grandsons bottle to another child, he came home in someone else's clothes on a different occasion (he did have clothes in his bin). They knew why we gave notice then six months later, they sent a bill directly from the credit collection site - there were no other correspondence- trying to get it resolved they make you run in circles with no one willing to respond. read more

My kids (almost 2 and 4.5) just started back at daycare and are loving it! My son is totally jazzed when I get home from work and ready to tell me all about his day. My husband does the drop off/pick-up and says its a breeze and after the first couple days the kids had no problem being ushered to their classes and saying goodbye. My daughters attended Lil' People's World from 2014 to 2020. We absolutely loved it. Each one of my girls fell in love with their teachers and created a very strong bond. We felt like the teachers and administration there were part of our family. Each day the girls were excited to go to day care to learn and play with their friends. On the weekends, my girls were bummed because they couldn't go to day care. Many of my daughter's friends came from Lil' People's world. We are only leaving because we are moving to California. My son started at this facility in 2013. He started in the preschool room, and is now in the school age program. This daycare is excellent. They do a ton of activities and are very interactive with the kids in play and in learning. He comes home every single day with something new he has learned. The school age program is hands down lights out the best you could ask for! The teachers are amazing. The summer activities are awesome! Even when they aren't out and about on a field trip they are always learning something new and the teachers make it so fun! I sure wish my school had been like that at any age! He has also learned a great deal of sign language which i think is really great! My son wakes up early and begs to go as soon as he can, he even asks if he can go on the weekends. And he is usually disappointed when I come pick him up. He will beg me to not come until right before they close! That is a sure sign your child is happy! This place is always clean, maybe if you walk thru as they are eating lunch you might find crumbs as the little ones drop their food but in the rooms my son has been in they are cleaning up the floors & tables after each snack/meal. The food is also excellent. They provide breakfast, lunch and snacks through the day. My son likes to try to get me up and out the door early enough so he can get breakfast there. He really enjoys the variety of the menu. The parking lot is small but there is also an open lot right next door as well as street parking. In the 4 years we have now been here I have only had to park outside of the main lot MAYBE 5-6 times. I can't understand the negative reviews. It must be those type of parents who don't believe their kids can do anything wrong so it has to be someone else's fault. My son has had issues listening and following directions when he was younger. Anytime there has even been the slightest incident the teachers and directors have worked with me directly. It's the most expensive in the area, you provide your own diapers and wipes, and the care my son received left me in tears several times. We have had our son at Lil People's World since he was an infant. If we ever move I will be very disappointed because I don't think we could ever find as good of a daycare center! It is very down-to-earth place. The director is friendly and helpful, and very accommodating of our erratic schedule. The families who come here span the entire socioeconomic spectrum, and I feel much more comfortable with my child attending here, than at some of the "high performance-prep" type preschools for rich kids. They do lots of physical activities with the kids; indoors they have plenty of toys, sensory tables, large & fine motor skill activities, and they get outside A LOT. They also offer the option for taking kids to Gymnastics one day per week at a nearby Gym, which or son loves. I also greatly appreciate that there are several men on staff. They seem like quality guys who are good role models for the boys at the center, and I know this is good for my son. The only issue we've had is there was a point around a year go where staff turnover seemed exceptionally high. A couple of teachers left for maternity leave, and things felt unstable in our son's classroom for a little while, but things have since returned to their regular stability. The bottom line is this... my son always looks forward to going to daycare. He is learning and growing there and we are happy to have him there, and I highly recommend them. read more

As a first time mom I was very worried about who to leave my LO with when going back to work.. I was a wreck thinking about it for weeks, and after much research and with what I was looking for this place is it. I am very happy with Lil' People's World. They reassured me about their care and made me feel very comfortable during our tour and answered every little question I had.. We love Lil People's World. All my three children attended, and it was fantastic. Caring, well-trained staff, a wonderful cook (Sylvia) always with a pleasant smile and hello when you walk in the door, and teachers also greeting you with a smile and a friendly comment to you and your children. Always smells and looks very clean, with holiday and seasonal decorations throughout the year. The staff was very attentive and loving to my children. Fun activities were planned throughout the year, and the summer program was outstanding with lots of great outings like Water waves and trips to the local beaches. Do not put your child here. I had an issue with Georgia and Pam. The 2 were both rude and unprofessional as shown by arguing with me. In addition, in the first room you enter I think the children are around 4-6 there was a Mexican girl(not sure of her name) who let two little girls climb on top of each other and kiss. She did nothing about it, I stood there and watched. This is sad, not sure what the world is coming to now a days. Do not bring your child here it is very unprofessional. It is also expensive and they do not make your child's bottles. You have to bring in your own food and make your own milk. Children can't even have juice here. STY CLEAR! Horrible Tour experience. We moved to woodinville last month and toured here because it was between work and play and our old school was too far to attend and took a tour here in Kingsgate. It looks nice on the outside but there is NO PARKING, the teachers were rude and didnt even smile or say hi, kids all over the place crying and not just a whimper it was full on wailing going on, and zero learning was happening on this "tour". I was appalled at the way our son was treated. He was bullied by another student and the failure of staff to stop the situation agitated my son to the point of retaliation. Instead of doing a through review, they recommended counseling for my son. When it was apparent that he was not instigating anything, they stopped with the recommendation (no apology, anything). I will never recommend these people to anyone and hope others will learn from my story. My Son has been attending the afterschool program since September. 1. He has never been in daycare before...2. He is autistic. Karma H..and Jessica O. are doing our community a huge dis-service by posting a negative review! My son is doing GREAT! He loves it at Lil People's World and everyone that works there is WONDERFUL! With having my first child I wanted nothing but the best for him with daycare, it seemed almost perfect that Lil People's World was right across the street from where I lived. I called and scheduled a tour with the director, Jami. I went there and toured the facility. It seemed a little run down but overall appealing. The infant room was fine, the woman in there was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Jami and I went through all of the paperwork and she made it clear they don't accept credit cards which makes it harder for most people but that was fine since I needed to get a daycare and this place seemed well run. And weekly tuition better be turned in on time. Down the road though I pulled him out when I went to pick him up and there were two new women in the room, not the regulars I knew. They were new and apparently needed supervision which was not there with them, I saw one of the women with Greyson and a different babies bottle!! Not only was I mad because I had to label every bottle and diaper of his there, so there should be no excuse of why he has a different bottle. But I also never received any apology or concern from Jami. I'm not sure if that bottle was breastmilk or formula, but either way it's scary! I immediately pulled him from the daycare, without giving my 2 week notice. 6 months later I recieved a bill from a credit collector stating that I owed money to the daycare. I'm not sure what kind of a business their running or why it took them 6 months to get the bill to me. I've been trying to get the phone number for billing with no use at all. They have me going in circles. Jami is nothing more than a money hungry woman, if you don't want someone to watch your child that actually cares for them don't bring them here! It's sad and scary for the babies that are still there, who knows what's going on! I thought I was making a good choice taking my son there but I couldn't have been more wrong. read more

I have no clue who rated this 5 stars. More like negative 5. Probably an employee. My review is based off the infant care room where out of the staff that work in there regularly only 2 are worth anything. The director of the program is horrid. Dry never smiles hardly greets people when they come in the door. On more than one occasion I picked my son up in a soiled diaper, crying and stuck in a little saucer so that the employee could finish cleaning. Another time when he was a newborn they mixed his bottles up. The director called me and said oh there was a mix up sorry if he gets sick. There is a younger lady and a Hispanic lady who work in the infant care who are super good. One of them has great ideas for crafts and art that the babies use hand prints and food prints to do. Really this is the only good things I have to say. Oh and the lunch cook yelled at me one time because the infant room asked me to have her send a plate back!! I got there to pick her up and I immediatley could tell there was something wrong with her arm. I had to take her to the hosptial to have it popped back in. I used this day care for three years since my first son was 11 months and with my second son also. The only reason we aren't continuing is a move to another state. The real testament is my 3 year old who runs to the front door on school days yelling at me to hurry up. We tried two other day cares with negative results then fell in love with this one. My first son was born premature and needed more assistance and understanding - LPW was great from the first day. They communicate with the parents and create a plan to address concerns. Later when my son went through a biting phase they were there to encourage and help yet again. The director gave me ideas to help with redirection and a plan at school. First off, check the sources. Felicia H. is the director assistant's wife. Second, one of the reviews that says "I'm not an employee" and goes on to talk about her son who is getting care, is Infact an employee. It's sad that a company needs to do this. Quality childcare centers don't need to make and fake reviews. The staff is good. Not all experienced but they all appear to have good hearts. They are not very thorough about following guidelines and completing staff files. One of the employees admitted to not having state required training even started. Another employee stated they had not even completed high school or GED. The rooms are not monitored. The center uses state ratio (infants 1:4, toddlers 1:7, preschool 1:10, and school aged 1:15). Quality centers have lowered ratios to ensure better care. But on top of following state ratios the center is frequently completely over ratio. The classes are chaotic. They are disasters waiting to happen. Incidents reports are everyday occurrences. It's basically a game of "duck duck goose" goose being the child that gets sent home with a scratch across their face. The administrative staff is lazy and will get away with doing the bare minimum on anything they can. I would think twice before trusting your child in the care of Lil' People's World. read more

My daughter is now in the 2nd grade, and has been in the before and after school program (as well as summers) since kindergarten. We have used several daycare and school age programs in our family through the years, and this has been the best experience by far! Because the center is small, it is more like a family than a business. The facility is well-maintained and kept clean, and I see staff constantly working to keep it that way. My daughter is happy and safe every day, which is priceless. They feed her breakfast, take her to school in their van, pick her up after school, and provide an after school snack. She also attends the summer program, which she prefers over staying home when given the choice! They take the kids on field trips, provide a mix of structured play and free play both indoors and outdoors, as well as educational experiences such as science experiments, art, and even sign language. For me, it boils down to the excellent communication I receive from the staff and director. I am always informed whenever something out of the ordinary happens, and if I have a concern it is always addressed. I feel like the staff correct behavior issues as soon as they occur, whether the issue is my child (it happens!) or another child. Good manners and mutual respect are enforced at all times, which is important to me. They genuinely care about our family, and it shows. They are also priced in line with other programs in the area, and it is easy to communicate with the billing department if I have questions. Hours are 6:30AM-6PM, which is perfect for my work schedule. read more

First I want to say that I am not an employee of this Daycare. My child has been attending here for almost 4 years. I have read the most recent posts and I am happy to say that I have had a very different experience at Lil People's World. I am sorry that these individuals experiences were so bad. This Daycare is not perfect, I know that, but no place is perfect. I've even had families who are close friends leave because of personality conflicts, so I know that not everyone fits at every daycare. Lil People's World has had a rough transitions when certain teachers leave but they always work through that. First, Georgia and Pam. I absolutely loved these teachers and so did my son. I always knew that my son was safe with both Georgia and Pam. Georgia took care of my son as a baby and Pam was his teacher when he was about a year old. Georgia would always talk to me about her concerns and we would work through them together to solve any difficulties. Pam was the one who taught him manners and to respect his teachers. She doesn't coddle your children (which I know can rub some the wrong way) but sometimes coddling isn't the answer for developing personalities. In the almost four years my child has attended Little People's World, he has experienced something far more powerful then just a someone watching my child while I go to work. He has learned confidence, friendship, leadership, empathy, and has a strong sense of security in his own world. He tests the boundaries and challenges his teachers, but he feels comfortable and has the confidence to do this. The Daycare has provided him with lasting relationships and friendships that will be with him for his childhood and into adulthood. We have developed a unique support group within his classroom between many of the families and have broadened my son's, and my, social circle with may fun and exciting kids and parents. As with everything, the more effort you put in, the more the reward. There have been times when I was frustrated with a teacher or had a trying experience, but this happens in any relationship of this importance. I know that I could not take my son away from this Daycare because of the relationships that have developed and the experiences that we have had. The first 6 years of a child's life shapes their personality and who they are - this Daycare, the teachers, and the kids have played a huge role in shaping his identity and I am very thankful for that. Administratively, they have always been responsive and helpful with me and if I am upset about something, I have always been able to go and talk to the Director or her Assistant and reach a resolution. Little People's World has exceeded my expectations! I was impressed initially with their website mission statement and explanation of their early education focus. Since my son has been going there, he is thriving. He started at 4 months, and in the last 3 months its amazing how much he has developed. He is very happy to see his care providers when he shows up for daycare, you can see the joy in his eyes. I feel that the staff genuinely cares for my child and feel very comfortable leaving him there. Also the staff in the other sections gets to know your child, everyone knows his name and is very friendly greeting me every day as I walk through the facility. I like the activities I see the older kids doing, they seem to be learning a lot and having fun doing it. They do an excellent job in going the extra mile to ensure you will never want to leave and that you and your child are part of their extended family. I love the artwork they send home with us, and the stories they share with me and assessment of how my baby is developing and his new milestones. I went from being excited to have our daughter in this center to wanting to pull her out immediately due to lack of professionalism and uncertainty of how she was being cared for. There were a few incidents, like, telling us we need to pick up our child due to lids not being on the bottles (husband forgot them) instead of waiting to just have a conversation with us to inform us that it cannot happen again. There was also many conversations about my child not eating well at school this past week, which was weird to us since she ate so well at home, was really hungry when she got home to the point she was crying and reaching for the bottle (which never happened before) and it's weird how it just started all of the sudden every day when it wasn't an issue before. There was also a teacher or assistant director, not sure who she is, try to tell me that my daughter is spitting up due to her formula, which I told her that I am 100 percent certain that is not the issue because my child only has the spit up issue at the center. I informed them multiple times that my daughter is sensitive after eating and the teacher keeps putting her on her belly for tummy time right after eating and that is why she is spitting up. That teacher/assistant director seemed shocked that it was just happening there and not the formula causing it. I cannot say much nice things about this place which is why I had to immediately pull her out because I did not feel she was safe or welcomed. There are about 3 teachers I can think of that really make the effort to welcome my daughter and myself with a smile, one of them being her teacher who isn't always able to work in the classroom. She is an amazing teacher who is knowledgeable and personable who usually works the later shift but aside from her and the other two, which I do not remember their names well because I don't see them everyday and they work in other classes. The director comes off rude, abrasive and unprofessional. I even had to keep the voicemails for people to hear so that I can make sure I'm not crazy on how unprofessional and harsh it sounded. There is also the formula lady I mentioned above and an infant teacher that would call at the drop of a hat to have you come get your child. My child has started coming here since November and her last day was yesterday. In that time, it was almost something every week. BTW the director doesn't always even take her shoes off in the baby room either, I have seen it and my husband has seen people walk in with shoes as well, so it just shows the priority of health and safety for even the infants. I do not recommend this center for any child. It was a very bad experience. It was even most convenient for our schedule, situation and commute but I would rather make more of a commute or anything else but this. read more
