Our son loved going to this school for 2 years (from year 1 to year 3). We would have stayed even longer except we wanted him to be able to pick up another language. The staff here genuinely care and love the kids - this shows up in teachers knowing all the students' names and overall just the warmth and care that's exhibited by the teachers. The school also host parties to celebrate holidays and seasons - those are always super fun even for the parents! We might come back for a summer camp - we cannot recommend this school more! read more

We love Kindercare Factoria!! Both of our kids have attended for the last 3+ years. All the staff here really care about our kids well-being. Ms. Agnes (director) and Ms. Raksha (asst director) are both deeply involved, available, and invested in the kids and their families. We are incredibly grateful for their support and engagement. Ms. Anna, Ms. Ginni, Ms. Emily, Ms. Helen, Ms. Katie, Ms. Alexia and Ms. Beata have all been so wonderful with our kids. It's hard to be a full-time working mom, but being able to trust my children's teachers completely, eases my heart. They are safe, well cared for, learning, and having fun. Our son is currently with Ms. Helen and he absolutely loves going to "school" and playing with his friends. He's already learned sooo much being in her class this year - big credit to her. She is so patient and caring with him. My daughter was most recently in Ms. Beata's class and was more than prepared for kindergarten both academically and socially. We were so impressed with her ability to balance the kids need for independence, while remaining empathetic. She has years of experience, fosters an environment that celebrates curiosity and encourages growth, which helped build my daughter's confidence and love of learning. We also have loved our experience with Ms. Emily. My daughter's emotional development thrived during her time in Ms. Emily's class and the lessons she taught continue to resonate. We had a really good experience at KinderCare Factoria. The Center Director, Ms.Agnes, and Assistant Director, Ms. Raksha, were always kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. They listened to any concerns we had and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. Our daughter was in the infant classroom and loved going every day. She would get so excited as soon as we got to the center. Her teachers -- especially Ms. Rainbow and Ms. Moon -- were so caring, gentle, and loving with her. It was clear how much they cared about the kids. The center is also very organized, and well maintained, and I never felt stressed dropping her off because I knew she was safe and happy. We had to move her to a daycare closer to home, as the commute was getting a bit too long for us. Ms. Agnes and Ms. Raksha were incredibly supportive during the transition -- they even gave us helpful recommendations and guided us through the process. Our daughter recently finished her time at KinderCare, where she attended both preschool and pre-K, and as she's about to start school, we can't help but reflect on what an amazing experience it's been. From the very beginning, the staff and teachers have been nothing short of fantastic--always warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. It truly felt like a second home for her. One of the highlights was how much fun she had, especially during the summer months. The water days and summer camp activities kept her excited and engaged every day. It's clear that KinderCare puts a lot of thought into creating a variety of activities that are both fun and enriching. While they organized many great parties for key events like Halloween and Graduation, their recent end-of-the-year party was the perfect way to wrap up our time there. The team went all out with decorations, fun games for the kids, and even brought in a cotton candy and popcorn machine! They also ordered so much pizza for the parents, which was a lovely touch. Both of my children attended Kinder Care full time. Now the younger one is also graduating, I wanted to leave a thank you note for a wonderful five and a half years. We are lucky to have a group of very experienced teachers. They have different styles. Some focus on academics and some pay more attention to social development etc. Nonetheless I have to say we loved every single teacher our kids have had. They cared about the kids. Through the leadership of Ms Agnes, who is very warm, friendly, accommodating and professional and with teachers like Ms Beata, who puts emphasis on preparing kids for elementary school with a kind and personal touch, along with many others at Kindercare Factoria, we always felt our kids were in good hands - safe, happy and well prepared and developed for the next steps. I am so tremendously grateful for the outstanding care of my children from Kindercare and their incredible teachers and staff. All three of my kids have gone to Kindercare over the past 6 years and not only does it provide an amazing safe learning environment for them - the school has equipped them with the skills and education to succeed as they head into elementary school. Agnes, the center director, is the best - she is always there whenever you may need some help - She is kind, approachable, and truly cares for each and every kid at the center. There aren't enough words to express the incredible impact she has made at Kindercare. Plus, I am so impressed by Kindercare's ability to teach the children. My kids were reading, writing and doing math at a level far above any expectation I had. This is truly due to the outstanding education they received. And through it all, the kids really love going and enjoy all the activities they do daily. I highly recommend Kindercare - our family has been so lucky for the tremendous impact it has had on our children - and just can't believe how quickly the years have flown by! I can't say enough about how great this Kindercare is. There were a couple of lower ratings on yelp so I was nervous to enroll my girls. I'm so glad I ignored the comments and you should too! The director of the center, Agnes is incredibly kind and so responsive. Both my girls had/have so much fun at this school and have learned so much as well. The teachers understood my children's personalities and adjusted teaching according to their needs. My first daughter graduated pre-K and was more than ready for Kindergarten and my baby will be moving to Kindergarten next year. I'm also so happy to see the same teachers over the last two years. My child is in the infant room, so I can't speak about the concerns from the other reviewers. However, my wife and I looked at many day cares and felt that the people working at Kindercare would take the best care of our little one (other day care providers were very meek, not talkative, inexperienced, or just plain weird). So far she loves her time at daycare and gets a lot of attention from Miss Mickey and Miss Natalie. There's lots of attention provided to our baby and she gets to have a lot of interaction with other kids. We passed on several much more expensive day cares, not because we're cheap, but because of the experience of the care givers in the infant room, their positive attitudes, approachability, and professionalism. Whenever picking up the kids (no matter the time of day) they are either playing directly with a child, feeding/changing, or cleaning up. This kindercare isn't the newest and doesnt' have brand new toys, but its very clean, and our little baby can't tell the difference anyways! read more

I brought my child here a couple months ago for her first day care experience. First, they kept pushing her start day back so I kept having to find baby sitters last minute. Second, they told me everything I needed to bring a couple days prior so I packed my bag accordingly. When I picked her up, she was missing her jacket she came in, had another child's shoes on and her bag was missing diapers, wipes and her A&D and her sippy cup! My daughter has attended Factoria KinderCare twice along with two additional KinderCare facilities. I will explain, she started out at Yarrow Bay when we lived in Kirkland. Upon moving to Newcastle we transferred our daughter to Factoria when she was 18-months. She moved her way through the Toddler rooms and preschool. Unfortunately due to a staff member leaving at the last minute we had to find alternative kingergarten location moving to Lakemount Academy, a KinderCare facility. When it came time for this summer we gave our daughter the choice of staying at Lakemount or moving back to Factoria. She choose Factoria because she wanted to see her old teachers and friends. To address the comments mentioned by one of the reviewers below I can only say I believe you had a rough 5-weeks. I can say during the 3-years my daughter has attended I have witnessed none of those 6 items listed. Let's be honest, kids are germ magnets and in my opinion the staff here does a good job at doing their best making sure the kids wash hand when they arrive, before and after they eat and of course after using the bathroom. At the end of every day each room is cleaned and surfaces are disinfected. I've never known it to smell, other than the occasional and to be expected dirty diaper that can clear a room. To narrow down any teacher would be an injustice to them all, however my daughter has spent the most amount of her time at Factoria with Ms. Beata so it is understandable why she is a favorite. In her 2nd year at Factoria she was being taught Spanish phonics in class so to say they are not taught anything is an incorrect overreaction. There is a curriculum KinderCare follows which includes reading, writing, math, science. Is it extensive? Of course not, this is a day care facility, not a prep school for the Ivy League. Side note, the Ivy League is a sports conference and there are 8 university's, can you name them all? As for the staff of Factoria I can not say enough. They have been more than helpful everyday and during our two seamless transitions into the facility. When the kindergarten teacher decided to leave 2-weeks before school was to start I can not begin to express my appreciation for the work Ms. Agnes did. We were on vacation when this happened and Ms. Agnes took it upon herself to find alternative options and make arrangements for us prior to contacting us to inform us of the problem. Some people may find this rude by not involving us early. I however look at it as there was a problem and knowing we were on vacation Ms Agnes took it upon herself to find alternative solutions to present in response to the problem. Ultimately it was the parents choice on what to do but by starting the process for us it make a quick and informed decision. Altogether I have had nothing but a great experience with KinderCare as a corporation and especially Factoria. I have recommended this facility to friends and do recommend to anyone who is looking. It is easily accessible from I-90 or 405 which was our initial reason to look at this location. Every member of the staff is caring, outgoing and friendly. I will once again miss not having them as part of my morning drop-off routine come next week. A big thanks to each of you for all you have done in helping to raise my daughter. You are more than caregivers, you are friends and considered family and you will be missed once again. I'm glad Arden was able to spend a few more weeks with you this summer before she moves on. Love, love this place. From 2 months old to (now) 4.5, my daughter has been treated with exceptional loving, caring, positive staff. They truly treat the kids like family. All the teachers know all the kids, not just the ones in their classrooms. We have learned a lot about positive reinforcement and playful academics from the crew here. As a parent, choosing the right childcare center can make such a difference in my overall peace of mind and happiness. I spent a good deal of time and alot of stress considering my options and what would be best for me and my little girl who missed the kindergarten cut off. Choosing this center felt so good immediately! It is not the cheapest option you can find but not the most costly either. So even though the cost matters, my child matters more. The people working there are happy and engaging with me and my daughter. Lauren the assistant director is so nice and the director Agnes seems so too. They really run a great center and you can tell by the overall vibe there and with each of the teachers. Mrs Beata is really one of a kind and the whole experience has really meant so much to me already! We are looking forward to a great year! read more

Caveat to this review: I've spoken with parents who have kids at other KinderCare centers and previous teachers; my experience seems to be common within the KinderCare system. Staff: They aren't allowed prep time and are on the defensive about having so many kids to care for if parents need anything. I think this is more of Knowledge Universe issue, they could lower the ratios. I've seen other daycares that allow for lower teacher/child ratios and prep time and while they cost more the overall environment at the other schools is less rushed and more child-centered. I've heard (from staff) on multiple occasions that teachers usually just say what the parents want to hear in order to keep the peace. Act more like big sisters than trusted adults; the teachers have been known to tease kids in ways that tear little ones down instead of building them up. Also, one teacher regularly leaves her smartphone out (against policy) where the kids can reach it and then gets angry when they get a hold of it and play with it. I've walked in twice to the teacher getting quite mad with a child for having her phone. When I brought my concerns to the attention of the director I was told "the teachers are young" and yet the phone hasn't been put away. Same teacher got in a child's face because the child let go of a classmate's hand in favor of their family's hand while walking to the playground instead of teaching them about the rules. I also saw this teacher get angry with a child for taking a bucket (one of 6) from another child's bike instead of teaching the children to ask and share. The mantra at this school is "I'm too busy" for whatever the parents need. If you want to socialize the director has time but if you need anything, and I mean anything, be prepared for an excuse and to stay on top of them until it's done. If it ties to finances or having to talk to someone above the director expect it to take even longer. Also the director and district manager are friends so if you report to the DM it will go right back to the director. Turnover is high. Cleanliness: The bathrooms are rarely clean (dirt/garbage piling up behind the door and the trash cans overflowing along with no towels for drying hands). I'm sure they clean the toys/tables as required but that's about it as far as I can tell. Also, on two occasions I've entered the facility to a stench only to discover that food from Friday was still out on Monday in the kitchen. Safety: The business model of Knowledge Universe rewards those centers that do not have "reportable" incidents. This means that so long as an incident doesn't meet the threshold for reporting to corporate that center is eligible for incentives which encourages under-reporting. My child wound up with a goose egg on their head from a fall that no one claimed to see but all were sure it was on a carpeted area. The child however was adamant that it occurred at the bathroom sink. They treated the injury with "TLC and ice" so was under the reporting threshold but according to others I've spoken to the policy is to report any head/face injury to corporate. When I asked why I wasn't notified immediately I was told that the staff didn't want to bother me with it (another common mantra). I've heard that at least one other parent had a similar incident in another classroom. The staff will confront you on any bruises they see but if you question something on a child it's downplayed as "that's just how kids are" regardless of the nature (bruise, bite, etc). Cost, Communication & Parental Involvement: The cost is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Also, if you have your child here know that you will pay for the summer curriculum in addition to whatever your weekly tuition is and it is not an option unless you pull your child out for the summer. Also, focused reading and math are not available to all, only to those who are willing to pay the additional fee. Otherwise the child may get some attention in class but only if there isn't a squeakier wheel. Communication is horrible. Kids get moved to new classes without the parents being told, incidents are under-reported and teachers aren't always honest as stated earlier, and the daily white board isn't even updated daily. They're quick to remind you about paying tuition, and will even work with you if more time is needed, but anything else is pretty much an after thought. Parental involvement is discouraged here. I've yet to be part of a school where the staff wasn't clamoring for parents to come in and help but here parental involvement is zero and when parents do ask the director says no. read more

My child goes to this KinderCare for 4 years now and I must say that my husband and I absolutely love this environment. Caring and professional teachers, very clean and safe classrooms. I can tell you that we have some experience looking for daycare and this was not that easy at first. Most of all this center is Nationally Accredited and we talked to other parents before decided to enroll and all we got is good reviews. We are happy with the level of care our son receives, and would recommend this KinderCare to anyone who is looking for a quality childcare. My advice is to compare several places, teachers and talk to other parents that have their children enrolled. Hope this helps! read more

We were fortunate to get a referral from close family friends who trusted KinderCare, so we took the leap of faith. We were so comforted by Agnes and the staff that we were put at ease (after the obvious first couple weeks of nervousness). The staff was great and addressed our ridiculous - but normal - concerns. I don't know how better to convey our trust with the KindCare staff but to simply state that we sent our second child through the same care. Our daughter went to KinderCare when she was 7 months old - she's now 5 and started elementary school this year. Our son just turned 4 and he has loved every teacher he's had. We know this, because he tells the teachers he loves them. We're so thankful to have a safe, secure and educational place for our children to spend such important time in their lives. read more
