I saw Dr. Zamora at the Optum clinic in Via Campo. Over a year later, the experience still haunts me. I write this review in hopes Dr. Zamora will read it and consider it in her future practice. I went to her, hoping to find a new primary care doctor. I was so hopeful and happy to have found her. She must be very smart as she graduated from very good schools. I researched her. I chose her. I was late for my first appointment, so I was turned back. I understand there are rules, so I accepted it and made another appointment. I was early to my second appointment and finally saw her. However, this time, she was late. She said the system was acting up. But still, my point is: if you are going to be strict about patients showing up on time, you need to be very punctual as well. You will be expected to be on time. Things happen, like a system that goes down, but that is why some level of flexibility is important from both sides. It is impossible to have it both ways and not seem unfair or arbitrary. Then I was seen. And here is the reason why I write this review. At some point in the physical appointment, Dr. Zamora asked me if I wanted a breast exam. I do not enjoy these examinations in any special way. However, I know they are important, so I said yes. She said she would do it, so I started lifting my shirt to get ready. The Doctor then started treating me in a very deffensive way, making me feel awkward as if I was doing something inappropriate and I was making her uncomfortable. Then she told me that I had to wait for her not to be in the room to undress. Has anyone heard this rule before? I had not. I did feel like I was doing something wrong at the moment because of the way she treated me and because of the way she acted, but looking back, I did nothing wrong; I was merely cooperating and trying to be as accommodating as possible, trying to make her job easy. So, of course, I agreed to wait until she was not in the room. She left, and I undressed from my waist up. But by then, I was second-guessing my every move and feeling embarrassed and confused. The Doctor came back and did her examination. I put my clothes back on as soon as I could (since I personally do not like to be undressed in front of other people, have I made that clear enough?). I wanted to be seen in a strictly medical way only, despite what the doctor may have been thinking that made her act so strangely. And the physical went on. At no point did Doctor Zamora care to make me feel welcomed, at ease, or comfortable. It seemed as if I was just something else, she had to work on that day, and she could not wait to say "next." Doctor Zamora was very short and was not interested in making any meaningful professional connection with me. She seemed tired; she seemed frustrated; she looked like someone who is overworked would look like. She seemed unhappy in her current position (talking to me); she seemed like she wished she was somewhere else. And there I was, after I had been looking forward to seeing her, all confused and offended but still trying to be as pleasant and friendly as I could. I have no problem going to the Doctor, but I can see how someone who does not like going to the Doctor could be utterly traumatized after an interaction like the one I had. It was odd. I left the clinic feeling ashamed, anxious, confused, and disappointed. I feel that it is not fair that other people who have no choice may have to endure what I endured, a really bad experience. Dr. Zamora needs to be grateful for her clients and her job or find something else to do. We are the ones who pay her bills at the end of the day. And there is that thing about the oath that she took. She should not treat anyone else the way she treated me. And if a past experience is responsible for the Doctor's actions, then perhaps she should talk to another professional about it. read more

Not at all good. Deserves 0 star actually. I went there for annual check-up and my cholesterol levels turned out high. There was absolutely no follow-up with me either by the doctor or her staff on what I need to do or what medication I need. In fact, it's been almost a year but I haven't been contacted yet regarding my condition. I went to this doctor after reading Yelp and google reviews which I regret now. Can't speak for others, but I didn't have a good experience with her. Certainly not going to her ever again. read more

I initially really loved Dr Zamora's care when visiting her for my annual physical. She was very detailed and professional. She performed all the testing needed and even referred me to a dermatologist for a skin issue I was encountering. This was when she was still at the previous location near Beverly Hospital. Fast forward to present times, she moved her practice to Optum Health Care which is now at the Urgent Care in Montebello (at the Best Buy plaza) on Via Campo. I went in for urgent care needing labs for a continued issue I was having. She completely disregarded my concern and did not validate any of my concerns/feelings and indeed did not order any labs. It was almost as if she wanted me in and out of her new office. It was very disappointing seeing the drastic change in her work ethics. I honestly felt very dismissed and have not returned with her after that. I actually did return for urgent care at Optum on another occasion and the PA who took me in was way more thorough. He ordered labs and even followed up with me to give me my results and to ask about my progress. Seems to me like she stopped caring about her practice after joining a big health care group. read more

This is for MedSpa90210 on Camden... Not sure what happened to this place but quality and service have degraded to a point that I will not come back, will stop recommending them and will be calling Amex to cancel my Groupon. I previously had used this service on a pay per service basis and saw the Groupon. I thought it would be a good deal for me since it was my usual place. Unfortunately it appears to have gone down market since they moved across the street. The new space is dirty, old and cramped. I certainly don't feel comfortable going there. The exam rooms are in need of some Clorox and a coat of paint. What makes it worse is the lack of customer service. It is nearly impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. The staff in the office barely acknowledge clients when they arrive. They also consistently run at least 30 minutes late with no acknowledgement or apology. I had to leave after 45 minutes of waiting for my last appointment and they acted like I was being unreasonable. I made them reschedule for what was supposed to be the first appointment the next morning. It was definitely not the first and I still had to wait for 30 minutes. This is not acceptable. My time is valuable and the staff is disrespectful - just chatting with one another and acting too busy to help clients. Several of the nurses are nice but some are not. I'm also annoyed at the lack of baby wipes or anything remotely soft/absorbent to remove the gallons of aloe post laser. The cheap cardboard type paper towels are not cutting it. Apparently they think a volume business driven by Groupon/Living Social and the like will sustain and grow their business more than loyal clients willing to pay the market rate for laser hair removal. I will be going elsewhere. read more

AFTER reading all these reviews...i must admit that i am scared to go back :( i dont want to waste my money and not go anymore..because i have 3 more session!! :( :( i sooooo agree with all reviews!! my first visit here was okay. it was my frist time to actually get laser hair treatment!! so i dont know what they can and can not do.. :/ the woman who worked on me at that time was kind of nice but very forceful.. either way.. i liked the result. hair started to fall off after a week however on the second visit (about a month later), they told me that they switch staff and has new doctor?? they are very unprofessional.. they dont know my name or what i am here for?! i had an appointment! -_- also, they asked me a bunch of question that i clearly answered on a piece of form on my first visit! i was actually afraid that they would use the "wrong" laser strength on me. this second visit's result was bad. i didn't see any difference! my third visit. an dark asian girl worked on me. she is super nice to me but i felt like she doesn't know what she was doing!! she did change the power of the laser because it was hurting me.. but the result isn't any different.. :( after i was done, i made an appointment for my next visit.. few weeks after..i got an email from them telling me to make an appointment?! so i guess the "appointment" i made with the girl in the front was for nothing... -_- i dont even know what happened... they are unprofessional like all the other reviews..the people..or "nurse" chit chat too much.... :/ ehh for this place..i just want to finish all my session and get it over with.. now i just hope i wont get some kind of cancer from them.. read more

I dont normally write reviews but I felt the need to do so. The wait time was about an hr. I had made my appt a week in advance and my insurance info wasnt verified correctly until the day of my appt. Which I'm guessing is why my wait was an hr and a half which I feel should have been done prior to my appt. I tried to continue giving this office the benefit of the doubt but I honestly didnt feel my expectations of professionalism at a Doctor's office was met as well as the demeanor of the physician to listen to what I was stating regarding my health. read more

Dr. Zamora is an amazing and caring doctor. Their staff are very welcoming and were extremely understanding of my unique medical issue. If you want a doctor that is non judgmental and will not shame your body size she is the right doctor. I love the books they have on the waiting room. read more

I changed primary care physicians about a year ago, and what a difference Dr. Zamora is from my last doctor! She is professional and takes the time to listen to her patients. As a patient, I have never felt rushed or as though my questions or concerns are being brushed off or ignored. Other highlights are staff is great, office is clean, and I do not have to wait long to see her nor have I ever had a difficult time getting an appointment. Same day and/or next day appointments are usually available. read more

We always remember the 'really bad' and the 'really good', and when it comes to your own doctor we always want the latter. Dr. Zamora was fantastic! From the minute I walked in those hostile doctor office vibes were not present and both she and her staff put me at ease. This place is super sketchy. First of all, whats it called? On the door it says something about an allergy doctor. The emails are from Dr. Alfred Caruso. The customer service is terrible. They always make me wait half an hour or more. One time they forgot I was waiting and I had waited an hour! Then another time I got stuck on traffic and was 15 minutes late and they cancelled my appt and charged me. It is a really cheap way to get laser hair treatment, but I don't think it is worth the grief. They can treat people poorly because they know there will be a steady stream of new people from Groupon to replace them. read more

How I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing the groupon for 6 laser treatments. The old adage of you get what you pay for has never been so true. The place has changed ownership twice in the three months I have been dealing with them and it is, in fact, super sketchy as to who is "in charge" of this place. The result is the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. EVERY time I have gone for my appointments I have had to wait over an hour for my appointment. This last time I even asked "how behind are you?" when I checked in and was told "you're next" and was told that I wouldn't have time for the numbing cream to set in. Well, guess what, I had to wait an hour!! Plenty of time for the numbing cream! The office staff's attitude is unapologetic and unprofessional- clearly, they have made their money up front and don't give a damn about their patients. I will say, however, that the nurses are very sweet and generally do a good job - hence the one star. Laser places are a dime a dozen. Don't waste your time and money on this one! read more

Run Away! I signed up for 4 fractional laser treatements. Several issues arose: Staff DOES NOT answer the phone. I got lost and called for help...mailbox full! Apparently they also don't check messages. No sunscreen after treatment, crummey paper towels to wipe off numbing cream, very difficult to book and most important-these lasers must be third rate. No result on the highest setting.Pay more elsewhere. Most clueless and uninterested staff ever. read more

I went in for a routine physical (think blood work...not prostate). I would recommend this place to anyone. The experience was quick, easy, and (relatively) painless. All of the staff I interacted with were extremely pleasant and friendly. Check this place out! read more

I purchased a groupon for this place I must say its the worst place I have ever been to. service is awful and they perform treatment as if they didn't care about patients. Rude they make you wait while they are chatting in the office. Never enough people working. PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT!! Dont waste your money there. Also known as MedSpa90201. I'm not sure what has happened to this place over the last month but not only has the staff changed but the place is dirty. They have hired staff "so called nurses" who are so wet behind the ears when it comes to this that it's frightening watching them weilding the laser head around like a six shooter. Not sure $99 is worth 30 mins of burns to be told it's your fault you moved while getting zapped There was a great nurse there name Crystal who actually knew what she was doing and now she is gone. When i went into the room the floor was so dirty...and i mean dirt from muddy footprints. The glasses they gave had make-up on them, which means they were not even cleaned before handing them to the next client. The staff was so unprofessional and forget about them returning a call. I know that the doctor in charge has changed but i'm telling you beware. Dirt, unprofessional and unskilled = bad news Dont let the address fool you. The are locaed on Camden in Bevery Hills. Hope they are insured...and you too read more

Dr Zamora is a is a great doctor. She has taken care of our family for over twenty years. She always seen our kids when needed without delay. Some people whine and complain about wait time. When you speak to her, she never hurries you and explains everything. A doctor only can do so much. We have to exercise and watch what we eat.Get your lab tests once a year and if there is a problem you can control things better.We have to realize we are not her only patients. The most important thing for me, That she always see our kids when they are sick. She always returns phone calls when ask. I have seen many doctors, but she is the best. read more

This lady is the most rude doctor i have ever been to, her integrity is ridiculous all she cares about is the money she is getting from your pocket . Someone that doesn't have any interest on the wellbeing of her patients is just not worth my time, i went in for a check up on my shoulder for a car accident i had and i let both of the nurses know that i was also in for anxiety since it got worst with the accident and when she finally got to the room where i was waiting she started interrogating me in such rude way, like if she didn't believe me or something and it made me feel really uncomfortable, after letting me know she was getting one of the nurses to make me a order for me to see a orthopedic, she just left without even saying anything at all or asking me if i had any other concerns or questions left. The nurse comes and gives me the order and thats when i figure she wasn't coming back at all, and the nurse then told me she was with another patient already. I felt so disrespected by her attitude and ripped from my money cause i had to leave and find another doctor with integrity unlike her. read more

Dr Zamora is so rude my mother went to go see her today with depression and anxiety my mom was trying to explain all her symptoms and she kept cutting her of we even brought her chart from her previous doctor and she refused to see it even tho the chart said she needed a psychiatrist she didn't give us a referral for one she only gave us a phone number to call and find our own. And as for me I had a lump in my stomach and she said it was nothing I had it for a year and a half until I went back to tell her it was really bothering me she referred me to a specialist and I got biopsy and came out cancerous so if you value your health please don't go her I'm switching all my family over to another doctor. read more

Medspa90210, not worth it. worst place ever. horrible service. they changed locations after i bought a groupon from them. i waited an hour to be seen after i was 4 minutes late. for awhile they had no way to get ahold of anyone in the office. it was the worst idea ever to get a groupon from these people. read more

I highly recommend this place. I originally bought the groupon for 6 laser sessions, but I decided to purchase additional time. They have great hours for those of us who work 9-5 and they even have Saturday and Sunday hours. The staff is always friendly and it's only $99 for each half hour (and trust me they can get a lot of areas done in half an hour!!!). I have been to many spas all over the city and I have to say this is the best. It's Beverly Hills quality without the Beverly Hills prices. read more

Doctor Zamora is the nicest, most generous, easy going doctor around. I have been her patient for years and have gotten to know her and her family-run business quite well. I stopped going here months ago but felt i really needed to review this place and save some people! Ridiculous. No one knows what they are doing here. Had a different nurse every time I had an appointment. They kept going back and forth with the intensity. High low high low high low. I bet they never changed the settings for me. The last nurse like had to take a deep breath and relax before she lasered me, like she was unsure of what to do and that she's never done it before?! She hopped around my private area for my Brazilian. Seriously?! It was just a mess. If you girls are purchasing groupons, why not look at the reviews from real people before you do buy them? That's what I have to do now after going to this place. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

At this point I have made and organized my schedule for 3 appointments, been to the office twice, spent 5 hours in travel and time wasted in the waiting room, spent $8 in parking, had two appointments cancelled on me, one 2 hours before my appointment the other I was told about 10 minutes into my wait in the waiting room. At this point I have not received my IPL treatment and I have spent far more than it's Living Social value in time, gas and parking. They have a 48 hour cancellation policy, well quid pro quo...I should receive reimbursement for 2 $99 treatments. Absolutely rubbish. read more

Dr. Lilia Zamora M.D. received a Bachelor's of Science from UCLA in 1982, became a Doctor of Medicine at UC Davis in 1988, and completed fellowships in Family Practice and Obstetrics at White Memorial Hospital in 1991-2. Dr. Zamora has also completed a course in Mesotherapy Intensive Hands-On Training from the Aesthetic Enhancement Institute. Dr. Zamora has received numerous awards including a Certificate of Excellence for Highest Overall Patient Satisfaction from HealthCare Partners (2015), Certificate of Recognition for the Mackenzie Physician Award of Excellence (2014), Health Net's Teen Choice Provider of the Year (2005) as well as several notable achievement awards in Laser Systems and Infectious Disease. My first appointment was with the female NP, she did my ultrasound for 2 minutes & told me she didn't see a baby in the sac and rescheduled me for another appointment in 2 weeks. Mind you, there ultrasound machine is so OLD & prints out black pictures. The very next week, I go to a totally different clinic with a state of the art ultrasound. The midwife at that clinic took her time and did my ultrasound for 20 mins. She found 2 sacs, one with a baby & one without. I go back to Beverly Care and they have me see Dr.Lee since the female is not available. Dr.Lee is condescending & rude. He didn't take his time with the ultrasound, he didn't look for a second sac. He just told me it's only one baby and printed me out a super black picture. He even had the nerve to joke and ask me & my boyfriend have we made a decision on keeping our baby & it was not in a sincere genuine way. We obviously are keeping our baby or else we wouldnt be there, we would be at Planned Parenthood. I'm switching doctors as soon as I can.

My mother (an inpatient RN) was evaluated here for joint issues and was placed on two months of medical leave by her provider. However, when we requested completion of the SDI (DE 2501 Part B) form, the office refused and told us she needed to attend physical therapy first. We followed that instruction, only to have the physical therapy office clarify that they do not complete SDI certification--this must be done by the treating medical provider. When we returned, the front desk then insisted she would not qualify for disability, which is not their role to determine. Eligibility is decided by the California Employment Development Department, not administrative staff. This resulted in unnecessary delays, multiple visits, and completely avoidable confusion during a time-sensitive situation. More concerning is the lack of consistency--placing a patient on medical leave while simultaneously refusing to complete the required documentation does not make sense. Patients should not be sent back and forth or given incorrect information. If the office chooses not to complete disability forms, that policy should be clearly communicated upfront rather than shifting responsibility and providing misleading guidance. Just to be fair, the first NP encounter my mom had was pleasant and professional. But the administrative handling was disorganized and unprofessional. This process needs to be addressed.

Like Nita, I also bought a Groupon for MedSpa90210 for $200 for 6 sessions of Brazilian laser hair removal. You can schedule and cancel your appointments online which I thought was great. And then the office re-scheduled me not once but three times without even speaking with me to make sure that the rescheduled time worked for me. I left messages every time saying that I would like someone to call me back and we could work out a better time for everyone. Nobody ever called me back. I called many, many times and nobody ever answered. The third time my appointment was rescheduled, they rescheduled it for an hour and a half earlier for the same day! I work during the day so it was impossible for me to make my rescheduled appointment time. I tried going online to cancel my appointment but since the appointment was in less than 48 hours, I wasn't able to and it states online that I would have to pay a cancellation fee. After reading Nita's review, I'm actually glad I never made it into the office. I already called up Groupon and got my money back. At the Vein and Laser Clinic of Newport Beach, it's $600 for the same procedure. I've been to this office before for a different procedure and have been thrilled with the results and service. read more

This "Dr. Caruso" has opened an office in Irvine called the ALC of Orange County (read all its reviews - its a horrible place!) and is continuing to scam people there as well. There had been a Living Social deal and appointments are constantly canceled and voicemails are never returned, if you can even leave one. Does this guy even exist? Who is the con artist running the ALC locations??? Some sketchy dude named Brian left a voicemail late on a Sunday evening canceling my next day appointment, stating the machine broke and needed to get sent to Boston for repairs. That was two months ago and I have been calling and calling, and no response from them. I called Living Social to complain, and when they called ALC to investigate, of course they were able to get through and were told the machine was still broken....what??? the ONLY machine in this tiny cramped office has been broken for TWO MONTHS???? What a load of s***. Good luck to anyone who is trying to reschedule an appointment, you will never, ever again hear from this office! Whoever is running this scam needs to be arrested and thrown in jail. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau, and everyone else who has been scammed should file one as well. read more

This was my first time at the new office, but not my first time with Dr.Zamora. I was a patient with Dr. Zamora for 10 years. I had made an appointment and was seen by the time I was set. Didn't wait very long at all. The receptionist was(I don't remember her name) really nice and welcoming. And the nurse was really awesome. Her name was Elaine and she was very friendly and very nice. Dr. Zamora was really great for me. I had gone to another doctor and was feeling very sick still. He didn't do anything for me. So I decided to go see Dr. Zamora as a cash patient (because my insurance changed and I can't see her anymore with the new insurance) and she helped get me everything I needed and helped me get affordable options. She was genuinely concerned for and cared about my well being. I know because I do not follow doctors instructions and I'm always in trouble when I see Dr. Zamora because she cares and wants me to get and stay better. I wish I could still be covered to see Dr. Zamora. The new office is awesome. read more
