I called today to schedule my annual exam and was able to make an appointment. I then asked if my prescription refills could be approved until my appointment. I was told, "No." I responded that Dr. Sudha would not be happy because without my medication, my blood pressure could become uncontrolled. The stylist Atila is amazing and reasonably princed for the area..i decided to treat my older sister to a cut and color. His experience and expertise made my sister feel at ease. His consulting regarding the color choices and the upkeep that would follow was on point. As he made her understand what would require more or less upkeep depending on the lifestyle. Something you dont really think about when gettinf a cut and color. Sister was extremely satisfied and happy. She said this was one of the best experiences shes had at a salon. I'm stunned that this POS "doctor" still has patients going to her. She is absolutely horrendous with the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. It's been years that I was seen by her and I still can't get over how horrible she is. She misdiagnosed me, leading me to have to go to the ER for an emergency surgery. I once saw her for UTI symptoms, and she confirmed that I had an infection. When I asked what kind of infection, she rolled her eyes and said "an infection is an infection what does it matter?" Umm excuse me? That was it. I left her office and made a complaint to my insurance about her. Please please please find another provider. This woman has no business anywhere near patients. read more

I changed my primary care doctor early 2025 because I felt neglected. I went in to see doctor Sudha Govindarajan and she was very thorough and really cared about my concerns. She listened to me instead of rushing me to move on to the next patient which was what my other doctor did most of the time. I have been a patient of Dr. Govindarajan for decades. She is very thorough in her annual exam including memory/depression screening, vaccinations, blood work, referring for necessary tests such as mammograms, eye exams, and seeing other necessary specialists. Authorizations have always been approved. The nurses and office staff go above and beyond to find and request facilities that provide necessary services and request authorizations. After my husband changed doctors to see Dr. Govindarajan he said he never had such a thorough doctor as her before. She recently moved her office and the new location is clean and bright! Upon leaving our appointments we receive our next appointment and our blood work order. No need to call for our next appointment!! When my husband was hospitalized with a medical emergency, Dr. Govindarajan personally called me to comfort me and allay my anxiety. The call was much appreciated! She is easy to talk to and has our best interest/health in mind. read more

Made an appointment and was looking forward to getting my 1st physical since the pandemic... Well it didn't happen as my appointment was cancelled the evening before my appointment!! Not even 24 hour notice!! Just like Doctor/hospitals/clinics charge a fee when an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours patients should be able to charge as well. read more

Despite reading the negative Yelp reviews, I thought, "I'll give her a chance. Maybe she had an "off" day." I regret that decision. The other negative Yelp reviews are absolutely correct. I'm not sure how this doctor has positive reviews. Either the persons were paid, are fake, or Dr. Govindarajan was magically sprayed with pixie dust when she saw them. The staff is absolutely angelic, and deserves awards, praise, and an instant right to Heaven for having to work for such an unprofessional woman. I made the appointment to check on a cough I've had for a while, Sudha forced me to do a physical. We went through my medical history. She was rude, couldn't seem to understand her own medical forms, and never spoke to me directly. She sat her a** on a desk in the corner while her wonderful nurse practitioner did all the work. Then, she would make rude comments to her nurse, but never actually speak to me directly until the end. The most "advise" I was given was from the sweet nurse (bless her soul because she kept giving me an apologetic smile every time her monster of a boss opened her mouth). I kept my mouth shut most the appointment in the hopes that a fairy would come and kiss Dr. Govindarajan. Dr. Govindarajan advertises herself as compassionate. That's the funniest joke I've heard. Dr. Govindarajan asked me if I smoked. I told her - no, I tried it when I was 18 for about a month, and didn't like it. But, I do like the occasional Cuban cigar once every couple years. She rudely commented with, "I guess all those articles about smoking being bad for you mean nothing." Aghast with her tone, I rudely responded, "I guess not." Govindarajan proceeded to tell me I am a smoker, and that my smoker's cough is a result of my smoking. When I tried to explain I have had the cough for approximately two years after a bout of pneumonia, she rudely said: "the chest X-ray I'm ordering is for your smoker's cough. You need to stop smoking." "So, basically, from one cigar every two years to never?" I sarcastically responded. Clearly because I smoke SO much. I was hoping Govindarajan would be able to assist me instead of accusing me of being a smoker. Had she bothered to check - I had a throat infection... (thankfully I found a second opinion and was prescribed the PROPER medication). Govindarajan felt my breast, and my stomach. She proceeded to tell me there is a lump that's probably cancer. Oh, and you probably have gallstones too. Am I a walking pathology? For someone whose cousin had cancer at the same age I am now - I was distraught. My blood pressure was high - something that has never happened to me before - but I was so angry I literally had to calm myself down for the "second check." She prescribed me medication. The other doctors I went to on subsequent days checked me out, and my blood pressure is normal. I could have died from this doctor's unnecessary prescription. I explained to her that I had a pituitary tumor. She asked me how I knew - because two doctors diagnosed me with it. "Where is the record?" "My Endocrinologist, Dr. Reece, has it." "Who is Dr. Ruiz, I've never heard of him." "Reece. R-E-E-C-E." "I need the records from this Dr. Ruiz." "Reece." I nearly slapped myself. What was this racist nonsense? Because I'm Mexican I only go to Hispanic doctors??? English was my second language too, Govindarajan. At least make an effort to LISTEN when I spell out his name for you. Or did they not teach you the alphabet at your medical school? "What does graduate school mean? You have a BA?" I was bewildered. "Graduate school. Like what you have. It's an advanced degree." "So, you have a BA." :palm to forehead: "I have a JD." "What's that?" I looked at her in disbelief... I started to be rude to her because she was being so condescending. Basically, she had just finished berating me for not knowing exactly how I knew I had a tumor. B***, you're the doctor. Why don't you make your degree useful, and focus on the fact that I went to you because I keep coughing. "You have allergies," was her response when I asked her if she could check my throat. Yes, Govindarajan, that's why I had an abscess growing on my right tonsil 4 days after I saw you... allergies. To suffice, I took my record, revoked Govindarajan's authorization, and found someone who had good bedside manner, and knows how to speak to patients. Govindarajan charged my insurance $600 for her abuse... I'll end with this though, if I didn't get a second opinion (Dr. Karlyn is the BEST).... So the jury is still out on the Doctor's Care for my aunt, but the office and customer care is lacking. We have been waiting for nearly two hours for a pre-scheduled appointment. Furniture in office is worn and dated. The office provides water for customers but I had to request water a few times for someone to replace the bottle for the waiting room customers. Television in waiting room is too l in Spanish language television is louder than most waiting rooms that I've waited in. It's unfair that your practice keep patients waiting for an inordinate amount of time. It's unprofessional and rude. Please reconsider your practice. read more

Found this place online thru my insurance. I made an appointment to get a physical. I got there 15 minutes before my appointment which was at 3 pm and did not leave until around 5:30pm. So if this is your first visit and you are planning to come I suggest you make time and don't have anything else planned near this time just Incase they take as long. 1st of all I don't know this doctor Sudha Govindarajan. But my daughter-in-law went to her yesterday just for a check up A physical. She had been fasting because she thought she was gonna get blood work so by the time they saw the doctor it was late and the Dr yelled at her because she had not eaten. After The blood work she began to give her a pap smear She got upset with my daughter-in-law because she was tense and pushed her legs open while she was giving her the pap smear she told her how small She was down there really?? She then began to give her a rectal exam my daughter-in-law is 22 years old ??? and there is no history for a rectal exam so WHY?? The doctor was more intrested in her family life and asked why she did not know her mother's age and why she does not talk to her mother what does that have to do it a physical The so called doctor then asked her what else she needed my daughter in law said that she was there also for depression The so called doctor said why are you depress my daughter In law told The doctor She was raped at age 8 by a family member the Dr asked if he put it in and she said yes the doctor then said that kid's that age like to experiment with their bodies my daughter-in-law said NO this was not experiment!!! Then the so called doctor asked her how long did the abuse last my daughter-in-law stated it lasted for about 10 years and the so called doctors said "10 years if it lasted that long you must have enjoyed it " What kind of person what kind of Doctor would say such a stupid idiotic thing to a victum?? I am speechless my daughter-in-law came home in tears she is seen someone for her depression but this lady put her back to where she was Before. This clinic's front office is very poor. I was a "new patient" but technically not a patient at all since I wasn't seen by the doctor. So I come in for my 4 o'clock appointment, which I arrived to the office 20 mins before my appointment because I knew I would have to fill out paper work. I waited about an hour and half and one of the girls in the front tells me I would need to reschedule my appointment for either next day or for sometime in January. Now I had left my job at 3 to make it on time for appointment and now they were asking me to come back tomorrow which would mean I would need to leave work early again. No! I don't think so. I made this appointment about 2 months in advance and now I'm being the one inconvenienced. If these girls knew that it was going to be busy or that the doctor had other things to do at the end of the day they should have kept that slot blocked off and also they shouldn't have scheduled a new patient so late in the day so they don't run into these issues. Also one of the front MA's, I didn't catch her name but as she gave me all the paper work to fill out she gave also gave me paper work that belonged to someone else with their information. These girls need TRAINING! Very very poor and super upsetting experience. I will be looking for another doctor. read more

Five years ago, I went to this doctor because she was one of the few that qualified with my new work insurance and was nearby to me. It was one of the most traumatizing medical experiences of my life. I was in my mid-20s, and I asked for a birth control prescription. She told me I didn't qualify for birth control, even though my previous doctor had said I was OK to use the pill. She said I was too overweight. Ha! I was not overweight. I could use to lose some weight, but I was not overweight. She said no that I should just use spermicide. I felt as though she was shaming me for my body and my choices. Then, the worst part, she basically forced me to have a random Pap smear. I'm older now, and I know better that I can advocate for myself better and make an appointment when I'm ready. During the procedure, she made me feel so uncomfortable and she acted very unprofessional. Every pap smear I've had since then with other doctors has been a completely different experience. I cannot emphasize enough how uncomfortable she made me feel. Thankfully, I never returned and I received my more professional care elsewhere. I forgot about her until I saw an ad in the Montebello newspaper, and I remembered her name. Do not recommend under any circumstances! She may respond to this review with her silly ratings as she had with other posts, but she should learn how to take accountability. Maybe she'd be better off if she listened to the honest reviews of what poor experiences other patients have had. read more

The lack of concern of the office staff on behalf of the doctor is troubling. I understand the procedures of the office, and that's why I asked to make an appointment. That does not justify the doctors office not informing their patients of refill expiration or not answering or responding to pharmacies. On top of that, I did not deserve to be belittled by office staff for their mistakes. I've found a new doctor, so sweet and understanding and was able to get me in (with a tight schedule) within two days! Versus the two weeks Dr. Gov.'s office wanted me to wait for an emergency. Many of the things my sister told me about this doctor was unbelievable! About how bad she made her feel. Especially when she insisted on my sister taking medication she felt very strongly she did not need. We looked up the side effects and did not agreed this was right for her with out more professionial testing. she tried to scare my sister in taking them. At one time she told my sister she should be on medicare even though she was insurance by her job. Medicare told my sister to tell her doctor was not her business. She was trying to say if my sister took the pills she would slow down Altimerzers.And that her family was gonna get it to if they didn't start taking them. My sister working full time, drives and lives in a house with others.Never was told that by anyone. And for this doctor to give a one sheet of her test to imply was just terrible! To give the doctor the benefits of doubts after reading other patients comments. To my surprise the low rating ones were very similar to what my sister was experiencing! I went with my sister to her next visit. August,2018. Her doctor was rude, very unconformable with my questions about her test and mediation she wouldn't even look at me! told my sister she did not have altimerzer and that she did not have to take the med if she did not want to. And instead of her coming to see her every 3 months with blood test. Because I question that if all is well. She told her 6months is fine. Since then we changed my sister doctor. I met her with my sister and every thing is going well if i rated the new doctor and office staff they would get a five star. read more

I recently had a tramatic injury to my Achilles tendon which required surgery, her office staff (Patty) work very hard to get me the right specialist even when Healthcare Partners was trying to deny and send me somewhere else. They work tireless with me to get things approved to see an Ankle Foot Orthopedic Specialist. I can't thank them enough for all the hard work and the relief I felt when it all got approved. I had surgery and was luck to have it with the Dr I did. They do a fantastic job helping you manage your health. It's been years now, since sudha was my primary. I've since found an amazing doctor that I am so pleased with. At first I thought it was me... But after reading all the reviews, everything negative I've read was spot on about S.G. I left the day she accused me of not taking my medication and said she gave up on me. One would think you'd see your doctor to help you. I've never ever met a doctor that gives up on her patients. Everytime, I walked in that office my blood pressure would sky rocket! Just knowing she'd be her rude self. This wasn't on one occasion, this was on every fricken.. visit. Her receptionist even noticed and called her out on it. There is so much more, that I can comment on, although I'm sure everyone reading these reviews can make their own calculated decision just based on what they've read. There should be a choice for not giving any stars to ANTAGONISTIC doctors. I have never been mistreated as a patient, as I was by this doctor. She was RUDE, BOORISH, and CONDESCENDING and didn't not bother to ask simple questions, that any other clearheaded doctor would have asked a patient taking medication for depression. I suppose I was a patient of many, whom she assumes is frivolous with her mental state. It was only after she brought me to tears that she stopped using an antagonistic tone with me. She is by far the WORST AND MOST INDELICATE doctor whom I have ever had the disagreeable experience of being treated by. I went through two traumatic events in in less than a year, hence the reason why I am on anti-depression and anxiety medication. She instead started berating me for being on anxiety medication, and stated that "even people in India are now on Zanax." It was at the point I started to cry in her office. Even then she DID NOT ASK why I was going through depression. I HAD TO TELL HER WHY! When she saw me crying she stopped using a harsh tone with me. I left her office in a high state of anxiety, feeling much worse than when I went in. During my last visit SHE THREW A FORM ON THE FLOOR FOR HER NURSE TO PICK UP. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but it was that defining moment that made me realize I was not being overly sensitive or misreading her as a TERRIBLE DOCTOR. read more

**If I could give this place 0 stars I would** Let me first start by saying that the receptionist staff at this doctor's office is the best thing about this place. They were all nice and welcoming, which is more than I can say for Dr. Sudha. I have never in my life encountered a doctor more rude and unprofessional. At no point during my registration and checking in period was I ever asked what the reason for my visit was. I was never asked for my prior medical history and instead was asked about every member of my family and their medical history and their names, as someone that works in the medical field, I have no idea why this information was necessary and my own medical history was not. Once I finally was taken in to see Dr. Sudha, I was moved from room to room multiple times, and proceeded to be asked the same questions about my family's medical history again! It was at this point that I started to see that Dr. Sudha was extremely unprofessional. On two separate occasions she proceeded to bring her reception staff into the room and berate them in front of me for something she deemed not up to par with her standards regarding my chart. It was at this point that I should have realized this was not the office for me and left. Instead I decided to stick it out and see how the appointment would continue. I needed to be moved back into another room. It was at this point that I was told to strip and don a gown, when I asked why I was told I needed a procedure. I am not sure how this doctor's office is run, but I generally like to be told what tests and procedures I am going to need ahead of time so that I can either consent or schedule later. When I expressed my concern for being "caught off guard", Dr. Sudha then brought her receptionist staff into the room and started raising her voice and yelling at me, telling me "You should be so lucky I'm willing to perform this procedure on you, I don't get a 'High off' doing this procedure, what do you expect, every new patient needs this!?". I tried to remain calm and explain to her that if this is a routine procedure she expects all her new patients to receive, then her staff and her should communicate this ahead of time to better prepare the patients. When I originally called to schedule an appoint I was not asked what it was for, I was never asked the reason for my visit, and it was never explained to me that upon my initial visit I may need this procedure. The point I was trying to make is that although I know I may need this procedure and that it is a common procedure, it is something I still have to consent to and I should be given notice. After yelling at me for what seemed like forever, I was still willing to go through with the procedure, on the condition that my fiance be allowed to be present to comfort me. Dr. Sudha told me "NO, I do not even allow husbands in the room". I am sorry but I am the patient and this should be my decision as to who or who is not present in the room with me. It was at this point that I was visibly upset and in tears because I was appalled at the way she was speaking to me. Finally decision was made that I would not be undergoing this procedure because I was too upset and I felt she was beyond unprofessional. Again I was sent back into another room for Dr. Sudha to "finish my examination". At this point she proceeded to be extremely rude and brusque while she attempted to listen to my heart and lung sounds (in the completely wrong area) and told me "I think you need to see a shrink", again as someone in the medical field I was appalled that she would suggest this to me after knowing me all of 20 minutes, and to use such an inappropriate term as "shrink", I mean what type of reputable medical doctor tells a patient they need to see a "shrink". . I left this doctor's office and will never be going back, Dr. Sudha is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered, I honestly feel sorry for her staff who seem like nice girls. read more
