This place is a bit hidden inside a red brick stone building. The owners, an older couple, are really sweet! I wasn't too happy with the alternation itself. First of all, I think it is overpriced, $250 for making my wedding dress a bit tighter and another $250 for making it shorter!! It wasn't that complicated to do. Also, she put the ribbon back on although I asked her not to. And the adjustment wasn't done tight enough. read more

I got my wedding dress altered here and I couldn't by happier with the results. I did my research and read all the reviews on Google and yelp and I'm glad that I did and decided to come here. When I originally bought my dress I knew that I wanted to change the neckline, and Liliana was more than happy to do that for me and make it look awesome. She was such a kind and sweet lady that made me feel really confident and beautiful in my dress. After I got my dress whens she was finished with the alterations, she offered for me to make an appointment to have my dress steamed for free since my wedding is in May and I got my dress done back in December/January. Liliana is amazing! She altered my daughter's wedding dress - taking great care with the lace overlay to ensure it matched; added extra hooks so that the backless back fell perfectly, and provided all of us (my dress, by daghter's maid of honour dress, and my daughter's wedding dress).with such care and attention. My daughter (maid of honour) was only in town 10 days before the wedding, yet Liliana was willing and able to alter her dress as needed. In fact, while my daughter thought that her dress needed to be let out, Liliana said to come in and she would show her how to get into her dress. That was done and a dress that was previously difficult to zip up, went on in seconds - very comfortably. I had a wonderful experience at Liliana's Knitwear Alterations. I got married Aug 6/2016 and Liliana did an excellent job. On our first meet up she took about 45 min to carefully examen what needs to be done on the my wedding dress while making recommendations. I felt very appreciated and comfortable in her shop which is why i trusted her to alter my dress. She did an amazing job at placing the cups in my dress that i needed, took an inch off at the sides and arranged for my bustle to complement my dress even more. I cannot thank you enough Liliana thanks to you i looked gorgeous on my wedding day which is indeed any bride's wish. I booked an appointment to get my wedding dress altered in a recommendation from a colleague who just had hers done. I was a bit behind schedule with the alterations but they were kind enough to squeeze me in. I went in, tried my dress on and Liliana went to work on the hem, picking out the perfect length with my shoe height. She really knows her job, she even made sure to take a bit of the tulle out of the front of my dress where the stones in my shoes were getting caught. I was only going in for a hem but she noticed I was playing around with the fabric where the bodice met the skirt and questioned me about it. I let her know my issue and she threw in a fold to match the rest of the pickups on the skirt. It was a minor detail but it made me love my dress that much more. Liliana's is a very friendly place and provides great work when you need the most peace of mind. I only went in twice, once to drop off the dress and once to try it on and take it home. The only thing that I could have changed was she mentioned they can build a bra into your wedding dress, but didn't mention it until I was there to pick my dress up. This is a VERY positive review! I could not have hoped for a more responsive and amazing experience for altering my wedding dress! She made me very comfortable with my choices and her execution of them was nothing short of dreamy. My mom was in town for the day for my first fitting and I mixed up the times so when we went that morning she wasn't finished but called not long after to tell us that she had worked tirelessly on it that morning and was done, just so my mother could see it! She took out the zipper and added a corset back, helped secure my dress with straps and discouraged me from altering an heirloom fur coat. She also walked my mom thru multiple times, the instuction of how to sinch me into it. Her opinion was invaluable and her work was incredible. My experiance with her has added yet another wonderful aspect to my wedding and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! read more

I can't believe I have never written a review for Liliana's Knitwear before. Almost 6 years ago Liliana did the alterations on my wedding dress and since then I have recommended her to everyone I know for alterations. She came highly recommended by a friend who also used her for her wedding dress alterations. I will never forget her advice to me during a fitting. My dress was strapless and I was unsure about her recommendation to alter the bust to be tight. She said nothing looks worse than a woman pulling up the top of her dress all night because it is too loose. I took her advice and my dress fit perfectly and didn't move all night. She was so sweet and complimentary about my dress and really made me feel special. I know she sees a lot of people and a lot of brides but she sets an appointment and makes it all about you. Her husband was also an absolute doll. He does all the paperwork and reminds you cash or cheque only. No deposit as he says he has my dress why does he need a deposit. No pay no dress! For the quality of work I would say that Liliana is very reasonable on her pricing. Compared to the fees charged at bridal shops she is an absolute steal. Never consider anyone else for alterations especially on your formal wear. read more
