Medical care: I saw Dr. Duarte for foot pain. First time i saw him, he was very distracted and answered his personal phone. Then, he sent me for an MRI. When I went back the second time to review the MRI results, he was over an hour late to our appointment and said "yeah I have other patients". Upon glimpsing over the MRI, he said "you have dead bone in your big toe". He advised me to stop running, to stop wearing high heels and stop doing anything that caused me pain etc. and offered to go over shoes I wear with me to ensure comfort. When I asked for physical therapy to regain movement in my toe, he said "I don't prescribe that when the bone has atrophied like that". At 32 years old, limiting me in this way led me to get a second opinion. The second doctor identified the issue and many months later, I'm doing PT to address it. I have since regained mobility in my big toe and can enjoy sports again. Approval for an MRI: I called 4 times so someone would get back to me and left multiple voicemails when following the right IVR process. I eventually selected a different number, got to a person who said "oh we never check that voicemail". Billing: of course, several months after I saw Dr. Duarte, I find out they didn't bill my insurance correctly so I "owed" a $400+ bill. All in all, with the exception of one person who cared about the billing issue, I wouldn't recommend any aspect of this practice and definitely not the doctor who showed such indifference to his patient's problem.

After the exam, he anticipated my needs by authorizing his staff to give me letters: one for my employer stating I needed to wfh and one for my gym so I could freeze my membership. He also gave me a referral for PT, and my prescription was promptly sent to my pharmacy. My stress and anxiety were greatly reduced after getting a diagnosis. My situation could have been a whole lot worse if I had to move around, possibly falling and injuring myself further. Thank you, Dr. Duarte! I have seen Dr. Duarte and others here before. It's usually easy to get an appointment. The wait time in their modern, pleasant office is usually minimal. They have an X-ray on the premises operated by Mike, who is friendly and professional. The lady at the front desk (who was in training) was sweet and helpful and prepared all my documents for me. She asked whether my pharmacy had changed, and it had. I am really grateful they were able to help me again.

From the moment I walked in, I was cared for by Dr. Greg and Dr. Louisa, and they helped me make real, meaningful progress with my lower back. The sessions are always one on one with true hands on manual therapy, and the bedside manner is exceptional. I always feel like I can relax knowing I am getting thoughtful, attentive care. At the same time, I was still trying to figure out the chest and rib pain that had been affecting my sleep, my breathing, and honestly my quality of life. I contacted this office in a professional capacity to clarify information on a medical certification form completed by Gregory Trahtenberg, Physical Therapist. The form had been completed hastily, and his last name was written so illegibly that I could not accurately determine it. My purpose for calling was simply to obtain clarification and a fax number so that I could assist our mutual patient. When I called the number provided on the form, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could explain the reason for my call. Mr. Trahtenberg asked who I was, where I was calling from, and who I was calling for, interrupting my responses each time. When I stated that I was calling for Gregory and could not make out the last name written on the form, he immediately responded, "If you can't read, maybe you should go back to elementary school," and then hung up on me. What made this interaction even more surprising was that Mr. Trahtenberg appears to speak English as a second language. As someone who likely understands the challenges that can arise in communication, I would have expected a greater degree of patience, professionalism, and courtesy rather than ridicule and insults. This was not a personal call. It was a professional inquiry regarding documentation that he himself had completed. Regardless of the circumstances, there is no justification for speaking to another person in such a demeaning and disrespectful manner. Healthcare providers are entrusted with treating patients with professionalism, compassion, and respect. Based on this interaction, I have serious concerns about the level of professionalism demonstrated by this provider. I have struggled with several physical ailments ranging from shoulder pain to hip and knee issues and she has helped repair them without the needs for surgeries (when doctors were trying to convince me to have surgery). I have a long history with my foot, and I was trying to quickly give her the greatest hits. She rolled her eyes gave me a nasty look, LITERALLY SHUSHED me and cut me off. Then I tried to show her a recent MRI on my phone, but there was no internet service (as is often the case in offices). I asked her for the guest WiFi password. She said, "that has nothing to do with me. You'll have to go ask the front desk." I had taken off my shoes and socks for the exam. I looked at her for a moment and realized she was dead serious. So she watched me put my shoes and socks back on, knowing every step I take is painful, and limp up to the front desk to ask them. What an abysmal human being. Then, she looked at my MRI report for less than 5 seconds and said "there's nothing here so I don't know what you expect me to do." The MRI report noted three major issues, the most serious of which was the cause to all my pain. There certainly was "something there." She was of absolutely no help to me and basically told me to "walk it off." She did prescribe me an anti-inflammatory....except she seemed unwilling to actually send it through. I had to call the office THREE times over several days to finally get it sent to the pharmacy. Incompetence, cruelty, and an all around failure as a doctor and a human.
