All my fellow Chinese long islanders, this is DA PLACE!!! Came here once to dine in and twice for takeout. Was thrilled by the authenticity and quantity of the food. Judging from the owner's accent they're from the northeast of China so I was not surprised when they served us double the portion size of the usual norm. Highly recommended items: 鱼香肉丝 shredded pork - best I've had in the US 肥牛肥羊麻辣香锅 beef and lamb malaxiangguo - got this for takeout. they put so much meat in a $30 dish that we couldn't even finish. A brutal comparison to what you might get for $12 from flushing with only 3 slices of fatty beef. This is a dish that's better shared with a large group of more than four. 熘肝尖 fried liver - the liver is very tender with rich flavor. Next time I'll try the duck dishes.

First impression was very clean, small and quaint, about 6-8 tables. The booths had adorable over stuffed chinese characters to dine with. We were given menus with a bowl of peanuts, which were enjoyable to munch on while looking over the extensive menu. We ordered the Chicken Wonton Soup. The broth was delicious, and the wonton wrapper was like rice paper, very thin and pleasant, not a typical thick wrap that hides the flavor of the meat inside, which was a tiny chicken Meatball. Next were the fried pork wonton. Delicious. Again, the outside didn't over power the flavor of the pork inside, perfectly and evenly fried. Roast Pork Fried Rice was not typical roast pork, it was authentic and so good! Rice wasn't sticky, it was moist and delicious. I ordered the Lamb and scallions. This was next level. The amazing flavor and tenderness of the lamb. Not a store bought scallion with heavy onion flavor, this was vegetable-like. Lastly the Beef and Mushroom stir fry. Again, flavorful and tender, we would have preferred less mushrooms, more beef. Excellent food experience. Only negatives: Everything came out as it was ready, not in soup, appetizer, entree order (pictures show how food arrived) And the service. Painful. The family sat at a back table on their phones and computers, not checking in at all for drink refills or even the bill.

Bon G. and I chose Ju You Ge for our Valentines Day festivities due to Spice Workshop being closed on Mondays. We had been to this venue once before and thought it was comparable to SW and also about the same distance from Shirley. It is a family operation with Hubby cooking in the kitchen and Mama running the front and taking care of the customers. We went on the early side around 5 pm but by 6 all the tables were taken. BTW... they are BYOB so be sure and bring your beer, wine etc to enhance the meal. Our appys were Dan Dan noodles and Steamed Soup Dumplings...Both delish..The Noodles had a nice toothy feel on chewing them and the red hot chili sauce was perfect...a nice burn... the Soup Dumplings were also terrific..the soup was perfect and the pork ball inside was delish.. a perfect rendition! For our mains we chose 3 dishes, after all it was a special day! We had Cumin Lamb 10/10, Sliced fatty beef with soft tofu in a really hot spicy sauce. Also had Boiled Fish in Hot Spicy Broth..Was delish and Spicy! For dessert we had an appy called Fried Pumpkin Pie..actually 6 perfectly cooked balls with pumpkin inside and a sugar coating...not listed as a dessert but a must have as the conclusion of an outstanding meal. Ju You Ge is not pretentious or gaudy...just down home Sezchuan vittles worth driving a distance to experience.

The soup dumplings were okay. You can taste a lot of ginger in the broth. More dough than meat/soup. I would rate it 5 out of 10. It took about 20 mins to come out .. with 1 other table in the restaurant. Also ordered beef lo mein to go, and that took about 20-30 mins. So if you have time to wait, the lo mein was decent. The girl at the counter was nice and apologetic about it but didn't really give me a reason why it took so long... either way I probably won't be back unless I'm REALLY craving soup dumplings.

I am beyond impressed with the quality of the food here, and the great prices sure don't hurt (just over $20 including tip per person in our group for a table full of food). Kicking myself for not coming sooner. My recommendation is to get any of their soups or hot pots. The amount of flavor that they pack in their broths is surprising. I will be back for Peking duck!

Before Covid we used to go here all the time for their roasted duck - which was what this place was famous for. After Covid we been ordering off of DoorDash. Got fish with picked cabbage and beef/beef tripe. Really flavorful and done right. Good portion sizes. The fish was still hot by the time it arrived at my doorstep so that was definitely a plus.

Wow, not your standard Long Island strip mall Chinese food place. Good amount of seating and two private rooms for larger parties. The food was spot on my only complaint it that I got full on my soup and dumplings before I could dig into my main course. I will be going back.

This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food tastes great and is authentic. One of the few places that makes food as spicy as I want it. The restaurant itself is very cute; we loved sitting in the booths. Can't wait to try more of the menu, will definitely come back!

Great new find. I really enjoyed the food at tao, service was great also. Must try the duck, or the duck with buns. Hot and sour soup was delicious, come hungry portions are very generous. Green tea was delicious also, I'll def be back to Tao fusion.

Maybe the best beef and noodles with homemade spicy pickle broth I've ever had. Easily the best Chinese food in Suffolk.

When the Spice Workshop opened a few years ago, we tried this restaurant. You can either eat in or take out. This establishment is a game changer! It's located in a small strip mall and has an unassuming presence. Once entering, everything quickly changes. You are greeted by a lovely staff member. The menu is incredible and may require a bit of time to order because of the extensive and diverse variety of cuisine. The food is served hot with large portions served carefully to meet your preferences - whether you dine in or take out. If this wasn't enough to convince the customer that this is the place, then the exceptional freshness, quality and taste of your order is incredible. No longer will we dine anywhere else. If you dine in, your water glass is refilled without you having to ask. The staff are very attentive to detail which is clearly reflected in the over sized portions, quality and cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is simple, inviting and you easily enjoy your meal in a leisurely manner. I'm conservative in my opinions. Recently, I invited a friend to dinner. I didn't expect to hear his compliments through his meal. He mentioned that he was overly impressed. If you're searching for a fabulous restaurant with a large menu and attention to your wishes, then Stop, Don't Pass Go and Reward Yourselves. You've found it! The servings are so generous that you're still be enjoying your meal the next night.

Some of my…read moremust-order dishes are the Walnut Shrimp, Tofu Dry Pot, Dan Dan Noodles, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, and of course the Chili Oil Wontons. If you're visiting for the first time, those are the dishes to try. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and service is always quick and efficient. The only downside is that they don't serve hard liquor, but they do offer beer, sake, and tea. Their homemade chili oil is absolutely on point and adds the perfect kick to just about everything. What keeps us coming back isn't just the food it's also the outstanding service. Our waitress, "Cherry", has become one of the reasons we love dining here. "Cherry" always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. Another huge plus is the ample parking, so there's never any stress about finding a spot. Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere make this a place we'll continue to visit again and again.

No flavor at all, I had to add too much soy sauce - not great. There were no chinese veggies, no bokchoy, no watercrests, no mushrooms. It was broccoli, carrots, celery, and baby corn (2 pieces!) First of all $17 for a dinner dish that doesn't come with fried rice or soup or eggroll? Sorry I never really put negative reviews but I feel like the hype of this place out weighs its value.
