Came with a party of six , all ordered a good amount of food. They did not take away dirty food or plates in between appetizers and entree unless I literally handed the plates to them. We had to help them for everything we needed. They didn't ask how things were and many things were barely eaten. The bill separation (we were two families) was all on us. We had to run back-and-forth to the front multiple times. Once the worker was chilling at the bar on his cell phone. Therefore, at the end I gave a low tip. 3 dollars on 68. I tip well I was making a point. Tip is not automatic it's for good service especially in this economy. I was called out on it and repeatedly mocked as I left. They said it was a 1 percent tip it was actually 4.4 and undeserved. Up charge for eating inside, using a credit card. I guess they thought they would embarrass me and make me tip more but it didn't work. I'll be watching my bank account. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I would never go back. Although The food presentation was nice the food had no flavor. Over cooked and hard to eat. The egg rolls very very crispy and felt like they nuked them. Service was very slow. No one acknowledged you when you walked in the door at first, then asked if you had reservation or not. Feel they don't care for the walk ins. We were supposed in the corner of 6 tables all on top of each other. The noise was so bad you could hear all the conversations around you if you wanted to or not. The receipt asking with 3 fortune cookies just thrown in the middle of the table. No cover on our bill as the other tables had nice black covers on their. EXCELLENT CHINESE FOOD. We go for lunch Tue thru Friday and eat on the bar side where Vic works. He's the BEST server and makes recommendations for our food likes and makes sure items we are allergic to are not put in our meals. The hot and sour soup is the best I ever had. I get Mongolian beef no onion. They have lunch specials with great prices, and the portions are large. We always have leftovers. It is the old Black Forest restaurant. The bar side is little dark and quiet (no kiddos) and lottery machines are on that side. We go once a week. My boyfriend tries all kinds of things and we haven't had a bad meal. As a Chinese gal from California with parents from Southern China, and having lived in Hong Kong for a short while, there is no way that I can say this food is authentic. Clearly the food has been adapted for a different palate. Our waiter was friendly and had a personality for the customers because he was engaging. The restaurant is big and clean with a parking lot in the back. The bathroom was eye catching/painful as the light bulb is pink so it's dark in there but also clean from what I could tell. We received the East coast traditional starter of fried wonton skins with duck and hot mustard sauces for dipping. My friend, who grew up here, ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup, the BBQ ribs and shrimp with mayo and walnuts thinking it would be similar to honey walnut shrimp. It was not! I ordered the chicken and broccoli for something simple. She said the soup was fine and the ribs were bigger than she remembered. The shrimp had been dipped in a batter that, when fried was hard crunchy. The mayo sauce was maybe mayo watered down and drizzled on top and then regular walnut halves. Plus is that the shrimp are large and not overcooked. My chicken dish was meh. I will say the standout was that the chicken was very tender due to velveting. Broccoli was al dente and the sauce was "I'm not sure". In all good conscience, I can't come back here. Glad that the locals support the business of course. We were there tonight for the lion dance. We arrived 3 minutes before our scheduled reservation and then waited an additional 10 minutes to sit. The table they eventually sat us at had been empty the entire time. When we arrived there were a couple of large parties, but most of the other tables were empty. We were given menus and tea and then sat there for almost 30 minutes before we finally begged our waiter to come over and speak to us. When he did he was annoyed, rude, passive, and told us how busy it was. We told him we would just like some water. He was annoyed, rolled his eyes at us and then brought over the water and left again. When we asked again if we could order he came back and said "Very busy tonight what do you want?" and was so annoyed with our very presence. The lion dance started a few minutes later at 7. We watched the show (which was fantastic as always) and then waited an additional 10 minutes for our food. At this point it was almost 7:30. He brought out the entrees a little while later and it was cold. When I mentioned this he was annoyed, took it back and microwaved it for 2 minutes. Then, we ate and waited for the check. Then got the check and left a tip, minimal because of how we were treated. Still not the nothing I wanted to leave. We left a 10% tip instead of my typical 20. However, that apparently annoyed the waiter enough that he chased us to the door with it and yelled at us. "Did you forget something?" and we informed him that no we did not, but we were not treated well and you were very rude all night. So he tried to throw it at my mother. Then, took the high chair my 2 year old had been sitting in and threw it at my 89 year old grandmother. When I said that was incredibly rude he muttered some explicit words under his breath and told us to leave. Upon calling them to try and speak to a manager once I got home I was told he had stepped out. Once I tried to speak to him after waiting I was then told he couldn't talk to me and he would try talking to the waiter. I have never in my life been spoken to so rudely or had such bad treatment. We will not be back after over 6 years of enjoying the restaurant due to how aggressive and rude the staff was tonight. read more

Can somebody out there please recommend a really good local Chinese restaurant the likes of Tung Ting in Centerport? This place is definitely NOT a good one. Besides very poor service the food was incredibly disappointing. The General Tsao chicken was not crispy and tasted as sweet as one would expect from a dessert with goopy bland sauce. Shrimp in Lobster sauce was more like a watery soup. The orders were incorrect and when pointed out to server nothing was done to correct it. He simply said Yes and walked away not to be seen again. A fork had crusted debris on it and they never came back with another. We had to get up and take one from an empty table. Needless to say we won't be back read more

One of the best sit down Chinese restaurants in Suffolk County. Love it here. Service is A1. Atmosphere and cleanliness is top rate. Food is wonderful. Try the raspberry prawns-awesome. Only negative is it has a very small parking lot but once you get in it's great. read more

Was very happy with Golden Dynasty. I found it close by and went for lunch while in the area one day. Once we sat down the brought over fried noodles, which are my favorite, with mustard and duck sauce and a pot of tea. They have a lunch special menu which includes many options with a side of rice and a soup or egg roll starter. The portion size was a bit small for my liking but overall tasted really good and was fresh. I would definitely like to try for dinner one night. read more

Food has always been delicious, and large portions. I've been to others around NY. Whenever I'm back in town, I make it a point to come here, and bring out of towners here. Wow ! Glad we found this restaurant. Living in Nassau County I had no idea which Chinese restaurant to go to out in St.James ,Smithtown area. This place was a homerun . Ordered pan fried dumplings as well as beef fried rice and Gen Tso chicken. Everything was outstanding. The Gen Tso's was probably the best I have had. All white meat in a delicious spicy sauce with hot peppers. Will for sure be back if I'm out this way again. Highly suggest this restaurant. Sorry no pics Was super hungry. It went fast. Update they charge for the noodles now I really think that that's kind of cheap. I think it's $1.25 for a little bag and 250 for a larger bag. They have a very good business so I don't understand why they're charging for the noodles especially when I'm ordering so much food to take out, it's quite a disappointment read more

I have been looking for the best Chinese food on Long Island for many years and I can't believe I found it the food is so fresh and delicious and the price point is amazing I can't get over how affordable this restaurant is I recommend this restaurant Highly! The woman that answers the phone during the week told me how to order a dish so I get it the way I want so I did this on the weekend and they did the opposite and my dish was inedible . I usually get take out and everything is usually good. But, I went with a friend on a Wednesday night and it was awful. We shared 2 dishes. Hunan Pork which I don't even think was pork. It had an extremely unusual taste and a very pronounced sponginess. I don't know what it really was. The sesame chicken was better but extremely dry. There was barely any sauce on it at all. Dinner for 4 On Sunday 7/16/23 no drinks or dessert came to $134. Food was mediocre. Egg rolls and spring rolls dry and little taste. Chicken chow Mein small serving was just ok, vegetable egg foo yong was also just ok gravy was a bit odd burgundy color not brown gravy. Spare ribs large portion not very large have had better there last visit a few years ago. Orange chicken and Peking duck was mediocre. They seemed short on servers so it was a bit slow, back kitchen door open and not very clean looking. Over all will not return unless I see better reviews in future. read more
