Came for lunch. Hot shredded beef was surprisingly good- abit too much sauce and wish it were less sweet, but the garlic sauce was good- beef slivers and green peopers and onion. The fried rice that came with it tasted fresh unlike the stale fried rice you get at takeout places. My chicken and broccoli was fine. Long time, customer. Service has went down quality has went down. My orders are usually between 50 and $90. Roasted pork started getting fatty. A couple of times I went there they did not want to look at my order and said I needed. My phone number was sort of rude. I overlooked it. Then I had a I had a pretty simple order. The order was messed up, was promised credit . Nothing major they made it difficult to get the credit and then they said please don't use it this time. Use it next time never again. When we walked in, we were pleasantly greeted. It was nice to see a woman scrubbing down the booths with a bucket, and it just smelled clean. Me and my husband both ordered lunch combinations. My husband didn't want the egg roll and asked to substitute for a can of soda, and she wanted to charge him an additional $1.45. Odd because both were similar in price. We stayed in to eat. As our food arrived, a worker sat at the booth next to us and had this bizarre internal hacking cough the entire time. Not pleasant to listen to while we were eating. My husband had the Boneless Spare Ribs and enjoyed them very much. I was disappointed to see the fried rice was literally just that, fried rice with onions. No roast pork, no egg, nothing else. I had the beef and broccoli. The beef tasted boiled with the sauce mixed over it. Tender, but not great. The broth from the Wonton Soup was rich and excellent. The wontons (there were 2) didn't have a typical Meatball, and were more like a smear of meat with a lot of Noodle. We weren't even given Crispy wonton strips for the soup. Everything seemed to be the bare minimum in product. Overall experience, we've had better and we've had worse. read more

Oh good, it's time for an updated review on one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, and I'm here for it! Wild Rice is in a perfectly accessible location, plenty of parking, safe area. There's plenty of seating, and often people are eating there, but it's largely a takeout business. If you're looking for traditional American Chinese food, they do a great job. Beef and broccoli, general tso chicken etc are top notch. They also have great lunch specials where soup or eggroll is included. I personally love the noodle soups, scallion pancakes, shumai, chicken dumplings and pork bun (many local places do not offer any of these things). Highly recommended for a good variety of items and good value- just remember to ask for chopsticks! read more

We frequently order from here as it's local, it's good not amazing but never any issues. Today we placed an order for delivery and they sent two items (my kids orders) wrong. I rarely complain but I was very clear when ordering with my notes and I called to let them know it was incorrect. I spoke to a nice man who offered to remake or a refund on the items. He saw my notes and apologized for the incorrect items. I told Him it was for my picky kids and if it was me I'd deal with it, but my kids won't touch it. I made my kids something else and took the refund as it was getting late. 5mins later I received a call from a lady who says the chef was questioning my concerns and basically called me a liar, saying he didn't make the items the way I am saying I received them. This went on for a few minutes, I hung up saying I'd never return there again but my husband wasn't happy with the customer service and returned to show them that we weren't liars and the chef did not exclude the items he said he did, it was made filled with onions and veggies ( we requested no onions and veggies). The lady saw we were correct instantly when the food was returned but the chef still looked annoyed and gave my husband a very nasty smirk. We received a cash refund for the two items and will never return again. The fact they called us back after we resolved the issues and questioned us was ridiculous ! We order frequently here and we have NEVER complained, treating people this way they will lose a lot of customers ! read more

I can't get enough of this place. This is honestly the best Chinese food I've had so far on Long Island. They're so clean. Even the restaurant is nice enough to ear at. You know how some Chinese food places look run down and outdated? This place is far opposite. They hve a decent selection. And they're always quick. They do have an accessible bathroom as well. I want to warn you about getting here, good luck finding the entrance because I was so confused. This review is long overdue. I went from not enjoying Chinese Food to ordering takeout at least once every two weeks. The customer service is always great. The establishment is always clean. Prior to COVID we dined in once and was very pleased with the food and service we received. Yes, It's your typical Chinese restaurant but not the dine in type just table and chairs but yet still had a great experience. Okay now the important stuff. The food!!!! OMG the food is so fresh and delicious. My daughter only ever order the sweet and sour chicken with white rice. I love the Shrimp or Chicken with Broccoli and Garlic Sauce, with a side of Wonton Soup and Pan sear Dumpling along with Fried Wontons. My husband is what I would call an explore of the menu. But not so out here in Long Island. The price may be doubled but you won't find this sort of Cantonese cuisine anywhere. A new gem in the area. Recommendation: Shrimp dumpling and roast pork with egg noodle. Pros: They package the takeout meticulously by separating the soup and the noodles. Cons: The noodle will cost you about $7-$8. After discovering this spot on yelp, this was my go-to Chinese spot when I was in LI for college. The place is so much better than your typical Chinese takeout spot. All the ingredients taste really fresh and clean. The people here are friendly and the place is really clean. Although I don't live in the area after college, I still go out of my way from time to time to get food here. My go-to's are the shrimp with broccoli with pork fried rice, beef noodle soup, and the pork fried dumplings. The boneless sparerib and cumin beef are also really good. Nothing that I've tried from here has ever really disappointed and I hope to keep trying new things. read more

I recently moved back into the area and didn't like the first Chinese place I tried. I ordered delivery just before they closed and they said no problem. We ordered a lot of food and everything came to the house perfect and quicker than the time they told me to expect the delivery. Will definitely order from again. This is the best Chinese food I have ever had, in Suffolk County or otherwise! Just full of flavor. I've had the egg rolls, fried pork dumplings, wonton soup (so delicious! I could just chug that broth), fried chicken wings, pan fried wontons, lo mein, beef and mushrooms, among other things. My dad really likes the ginger chicken with bok choy. Prices are reasonable. It's not really a sit-down place, but there are more tables than your typical take-out Chinese restaurant. Service has always been good, no complaints; always accurate with my order. This place used to be real good but unfortunately the original owner sold the business. They have slacked on flavor, the wonton soup lacks any flavor at all! the wonton dumplings used to be packed with meat and flavor now its just dough. I ordered pan fried dumplings and again no flavor thank God for the dumpling sauce. We also had the house special Mai fun and again no flavor just noodles with meat and vegetables. To night we had the roast pork soup with egg and rice noodles and u guessed it no flavor the broth was like salt water (I think dishwater has more flavor) and the sliced roast pork is now chunks of old pork in a container. We used to be greated with a hello now its what's your number and not even a thank you when paying . There are many new Asian restaurants opening up all over and they are very good. Wild Rice, what can I say? I don't know how we found this place, they don't deliver to my house, so we eat there. Do you know how most Chinese food is hit-or-miss? Not Wild Rice, they are in a league of their own. Anyone that loves Chinese food and knows the difference between good and bad Chinese food will LOVE Wild Rice. I always order custom Fried Rice. Plain, extra eggs, scallions, and dark. It reminds me of the rice I ate as a kid growing up in Brooklyn on Nostrand Avenue. Really authentic old-school Chinese food. You would not expect it though as the atmosphere is a bit modern I guess. The shrimp are always fresh, as is the chicken. Dumplings, Egg Rolls, and everything else is always spot-on. The Garlic Sauce is my favorite and it's actually sauce, not congealed God-knows-what like you get from most other places. I'll post some pictures when I take them this weekend, I don't have any on-hand, I'm just in review mode this morning, and figure Wild Rice deserves this review after all this time my family and I have been eating there. Aside from the food, the girls that work there are nice. They remember us, often remember how we like our food, and more importantly, they deal with my 3-year old daughter that runs around like a wild animal most of the time. Sorry and thank you. It's not really a restaurant, more of a take-out with seating. Out of the near one-hundred Chinese restaurants we've eaten at or ordered from over-the-years, there's only one other place in West Sayville that compares to Wild Rice. All of it. Even though I've been trying to cut down on my rice consumption. It would have been a sin not to eat it. Lunch runs from 11am to 3pm. Pricing starts at $4.95 (for vegetable platters) up to $6.75 for Bar-B-Q Spareribs. Lunch includes regular rice and a choice of soup. A combo platter is available all day with pork fried rice and an egg roll. (Those run from $6.95 to $8.75.) There's not much required to bend my rubber arm. I'm a *huge* fan and will be sure to go again. (And the inside is super cute.) Booths line the wall. While this looked like a self serve joint - where you order up front and wait for your food - our food was brought out to our table. I'd easily recommend this as a date location or for business. Be warned: There is only seating for (probably) 20 people. I haven't been during peak hours. I suspect it might be packed. The food is amazing. Free delivery within a 3 mile radius. ($15 order required.) Parking is available on the north side of Middle Country Road. (The entrance to the restaurant is there as well.) Say "Hi!" when you see me. I plan to come often.
