I never ended up going to Central when I was in Lima since there are so many more interesting options to try. Real Peruvian food is so delicious on its own. But went with lots of expectation to this one. So, what I liked was the decor, ambience, quieter so you could talk, they take reservations unlike the new trend in Soho. Food wise, the ceviche was a very small portion, which lacked a spicy punch, when you eat an authentic ceviche in Peru, the difference is obvious. The trio of tiraditos was my favourite dish and us value for money as a starter. For mains we ordered the hot ceviche , Octopus and a quinoa side salad. The hot ceviche with fried seabass, a very small portion, so the sauce was tasty, the fish portion small and tasted like a regular pan fried fish, nothing unique. The octopus , we literally had to keep looking for it, the whole dish , which cost like 25/28 quid, was full of potatoes, whole potatoes and a bed of mashed potatoes. Understand a few potatoes, but why so much! And where was the Octopus! We paid 70 pp with two Piscos each. My favourite place to eat authentic Peruvian is Titos in London Bridge, their fish variety is not varied but the flavours are so authentic and price doesn't break the bank. So will stick to that in future. read more
