Raw chicken just in the open

I would not eat from them. Yesterday they were riding around with raw chicken in the back of the truck not covered. Pretty sure they will be serving this to customers. Please be careful

I visited this restaurant in the late evening near closing. The staff were friendly and had begun cleaning the store in preparation for closing. There was plenty of seating available for dining in. It was quiet and lit well, there were only 2 other patrons in the restaurant during my visit. My son enjoyed his steak tacos, they looked good. My daughter enjoyed her cheese steak although it looked small (I'm a native Philadelphian and may judge harshly ). My wife had a steak burrito bowl (sorry I forgot a pic) that she enjoyed and had enough to save half for lunch today. I had the 1/4 chicken with green beans and fried rice. I thought it was just ok. I've eaten here before and really enjoyed it, this visit was a middle of the road experience. My chicken was "blah" but I enjoyed the sides. I'll return in the future with the hope that I can update this review in more positive way.

This was a yummy tasting steak sandwich. I could tell that the steak flavor was enhanced with some Peruvian flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. The only thing I'd change is perhaps the toppings. For some reason, the sandwich was soaked despite me eating it right away in the restaurant. I'm not a fan of "soggy" bread so I'll ask for my toppings on the side and see how that changes things. Otherwise, friendly staff and plenty of seating to enjoy your food. There are plenty of options on the menu so I'll definitely be back to try some of the chicken.

So glad I found this spot! The food is delicious! The chicken is juicy and tender, and the rice and veggies were seasoned and cooked well! The food tastes better than it looks in photos. 10/10 recommend!

The food is here okay. It's very rewarding for the money spent so I can't complain too much. The rice isn't very good and sometimes it sits out too long. Honestly some of the sides sit out too long. Maybe from a lack of business. The chicken is worth getting and the main reason you should come here. I personally prefer going to Chicken Rico but sometimes I settle for this place if I'm close. I recommend the yellow sauce as it has a sweetness to it. The green sauce is spicy and I mostly put that on the rice or veggies to help it taste better. They will charge you if you ask for extra,

Who doesn't know that charbroiled chicken is thee best? It's a no brained anytime you're craving grilled chicken. This is a favorite of ours when the wife and I don't feel like cooking. A whole chicken and two large sides feeds us pretty well. My wife prefers white meat so we get all white meat and the price doesn't jump tremendously. Everything taste as if it was marinated for hours because the flavors just mesh so well. I'm a big fan of the mixed veggies(zucchini, squash, carrots and broccoli) so I always order an extra side of that. Growing up, zucchini and squash were not on the list of vegetables I liked but Limas does such a great job with flavoring/seasoning that they are now my favorite veggies. The rice is packed with red/green peppers and onions and it taste delicious. Honestly it may be the standout dish of the meal. My kids always want extra rice with their meals and I can't blame them. So any time of the week is a great night to have Limas, don't feel like cooking? Limas. Out all day and need to grab something quick? Limas. Or you just want to feed your army something good? Limas. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I been coming here for a while. I notice they recently made some improvements. The chicken is more tasty. The potatoes recipe was change. Overall the improvements made a great. Also, service is always fast.

I come here often and the food is always good. Today I got the Fajita Mixta it's doesn't come with Tortilla Shells so that was disappointing, not happy that I had to pay extra for Shells.

I decided to visit here after my boyfriend recommended the chicken burritos. We visited on a Sunday around 2-3pm, the restaurant was somewhat empty with about 8-10 other customers, service was a bit slow. But we ordered a chicken burrito with guac which rung up to about $12. It's similar to chipotle/Qdoba style where you can choose what you would like on your burrito. Except it's kind of opposite, which is sorta weird. So you go up to cashier and order and pay, then you walk down and tell the server everything you want. Whereas, at other restaurants you pick what you want first then pay. It was weird because i ended up having to go back to the cashier to get charged for guac. I think the set up would be better if they let you pick what you want first then pay at the end. I ended up getting brown rice (similar to fried rice with peppers, super tasty), black beans, chicken, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, guac, yellow and green sauce. The burrito was delicious and huge, super flavorful because the chicken and rice were seasoned to perfection. Make sure you get the yellow sauce and if you like it spicy get the green sauce. The burrito was not assembled well, unfortunately, it definitely wasn't tight enough, by the time i got home, it was a shattered mess and i had to use a fork to eat it. I'll definitely come back and get a burrito bowl next time, not worth the hassle. They also have horchata too, which was pretty delicious as well. Not the best horchata I've had but pretty tasty.

On this first visit, the chicken wasn't as stand-out as old favorite Sardi's (found closer to DC) but the quality and value for a half-chicken plus two heaping sides (~$10) was solid. Chicken flavor and tender/moist was good. Sauces could use work (the green is the good stuff, the yellow tastes mainly of mayo). This was a surprising find hidden in one of the older, worn-out strip malls in the area. The restaurant feels new, with a clean, airy dining room and lots of seating. It's more than just pollo a la brasa, with a decent selection of Peruvian greatest hits, and some Americanized easy-eating food (tacos, burritos, rice bowls). Glad to have another option for Peruvian, closer to home.

You walk in and there's a counter, a few tables, and a fridge with some to-go desserts. Several folks were standing waiting for a to-go order. We dined in, so we walked down the narrow hallway to the back room full of booths and tables. With lots of art for sale on the walls, it's got a nice cozy vibe going on. We were there on the later end on a random Tuesday, so we were the only people there. Our waiter brought us a basket of chips and salsa and after looking over the menu, I took his suggestion to get the paella. Their paella is not a traditional paella valenciana by any stretch, but it's sort of a cross between that and a jambalaya: rice-based with shrimp, chicken, and sausage, pleasantly spicy with some veggies thrown in too. While I originally balked at the price ($28 as of this writing), it was dinner and then two more meals when I took it home; it's easily 2-3 servings, making that price less daunting. My wife got the Tapas Platter, which was a great way to sample the variety of appetizers. A tasty chicken tamal, some spinach empanada (which had a kind of "meh" dough), a cheesy pupusa, and a salchipapa (potato stuffed with ground sausage and cheese) which my wife went mad for. There is a kids menu and Child #1 opted for a cheese quesadilla which seemed standard and Child #2 opted for a burger and fries which was pretty big for a kids meal, but I'm not complaining! BYOB - they even have a sign encouraging folks to go a few doors down to the liquor store if customers want to bring something in. The service wasn't very fast, but it wasn't bad. The food was decent, but it does seem a bit streamlined, so don't come here for a big variety of street tacos or the whole gamut of pupusas. That said, it was an overall solid dining experience.

Been here a few times now as it's a convenient option by AMC Columbia. This used to be Urban…read morePlates, which I remembered going to a couple of times and was disappointed when it closed a few years ago. The first time I went here was in summer 2022 shortly after they opened, and I was disappointed with a few things. At that time, I would've given them 2-stars, and I remember thinking I probably don't want to go back here. Then, about 1.5 years later on Friday, December 1, 2023 after a movie, there was someone dressed up in chicken costume as I recall giving coupons for a free side to be used by expiration at the end of 2023. 11 days later on Tuesday, December 12, I decided to give Chicken + Whiskey another chance with the coupon as a catalyst. A couple of issues I had in 2022 were improved in 2023. I didn't think it was the most outstanding chicken & sides I've had but pretty good. And my opinion continued to improve in 2024 & remain positive as recently as Saturday, March 1, 2025. The main thing that pissed me off in 2022 was that there was an extra upcharge on mac n' cheese with no warning, and the staff was a bit snippy when I said it should've been more clear on the glass when ordering and not a small note up top. Although they were willing to change out, I really wanted the mac n' cheese and ultimately decided to pay the extra. In December 2023, I asked about the mac n' cheese upcharge, and they said all the sides were the same, no upcharge. I breathed a sigh of relief as I didn't like being charged for picking a certain side. In 2024-2025, I always get the 1/4 chicken white with 2 sides, which I vary somewhat depending on my mood. December 2023 I tried THREE sides as my coupon was for a free side and the 1/4 chicken already comes with 2 sides. This gave me the opportunity to try more sides although the staff is cordial and will let you sample, which I've done a couple of times to determine if it's a side I really want. With my 3 sides, I got mac n' cheese (now with no upcharge & my favorite "vegetable"), Yuca fries, & side salad (to be healthy since I already was getting 2 unhealthy sides). Yuca fries & chicken are both great. Mac n' cheese is solid too. However, it seems like the mac n' cheese gets a bit cool by the time I pay & ultimately am eating it. So, that is a bit off-putting. Additionally, they give you a free sauce, which I generally get the BBQ. It's nice to dip the chicken in but is a bit spicy. I signed up for their loyalty program and got points, which in 2024-25 meant I got some discounts for earning points like a few bucks off my food, which is nice perk to help me keep coming back. I had signed up for In Kind app in January 2025, and there are only 5 restaurants in Columbia where you get 20% off (3 by mall: this, Bennie's [which Chicken + Whiskey] owns too, & Walrus). On March 1, 2025, there was some confusion with the staff with the In Kind + a bit of loyalty discount I had. A person from Bennie's staff was over to help since the two places are connected. Ultimately, my girlfriend & I approximately $25 meals came down to only $10 something, which was awesome! After going through the assembly line to say the entree you want, pick sides, and pay, you take your tray to seating. They have a bunch of benches to sit on, which is where I tend to sit. They also have regular seating. But here, I prefer the benches because the lighting is kind of bad, but worse in the regular seating area. I wish the lighting was better as I like to clearly see my food, but it's a minor complaint. Also, they have a separate water station, which is nice. The machine is a bit hard to press with the plastic cup; so you need to use your hands to press. Overall, Chicken + Whiskey is solid. We will keep coming back as we know we can get a good quality meal and cordial staff.

The arroz chaufa had a great mix of flavors, the yuca fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the rice and beans had that classic South American comfort food feel. There was a small issue--our order arrived without the red and green sauces. I called the restaurant, and the manager, Brian, personally delivered them. That level of service is rare and truly appreciated. And that red sauce? It packs a serious kick in the best way. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be ordering again.
